  1. Yeah I'm tempted to but a roller bridge on my tele but kind of want to keep it stock.

that is a dirty sunburst but it does have a certain charm to it.
  4. yeah i was thinking that would be better than mirror, and them remembered alloy would be better than both
  5. Imagine simno's blacked cracked mirror but with a black quilt top. that's the kind of vibe i'm thinking
  6. I tell you what i'd like james. Clear black on the quilt, super high gloss, black binding and then clear on the back and sides. Maybe even satin on the back and sides so the top really popped. Could look really good! Great shot of #001 by the way.
  7. Yeah, I hate wasting strings. At least with these vintage tuners where you slot the first part down inside you don't end up with a string too short to wind back on after you take them off.
  8. Yeah relief looks right on to me. There does look like there could be a bit of a kink in the string right on that fret but it could easily be my imagination. I'll have get another set of strings and switch it out. Frustrating though... I shimmed the neck yesterday, wondering if I did too much. Before it was flat and you literally couldn't set the saddles low enough with the bridge flat to the base plate without the strings touching the sides of the bridge rather than the saddles. Now I've got the bridge raised up a bit and the saddles up fairly high too. Can't see this as a problem though, can you? Intonation is good.
  9. I'm thinking the low E is around 6/64" at the minute, I can have it quite a bit lower and everything else is very playable except that 5th fret. High is about 4/64"
  10. Relief adjusted and still no joy with the rattle. Everything else is good, it's playing pretty nicely now and holding tuning much better with the 9s on there. Starting to wonder if it's a issue with the E string rather than the fret as the fret looks tidy and it's all level. If I bend the A up to that same area that the E is rattling on there's no problem there either. Maybe I put a kink in the E string while I was battling with stringing up the Bigsby for the first time and that's the cause. It wasn't rattling at all with the old .52 on there.
  11. Yeah it had quite a bit of relief before so i left it as it was, it's pretty flat now. I want to loosen the truss rod a tad but really can't be assed with restringing that bloody thing again today......
  12. Guitar is set up now with .09-.42s and a slight shim on the neck. Overall a hell of a lot better. Wasn't too impressed with the fit of the neck pocket though... It's playing decently now except I'm getting some choking on the 5th fret of the low E. Everywhere else seems fine. Would a little more relief be the ticket, or does a high fret seem more likely?
