Now, don't get me wrong - I have a ton of respect for FuryMuso. But there is just too much fuzz/distortion on there... sounds kind of messy. I'll let it go, because I do like FuryMuso a lot

But, I absolutely cannot stand the way the guitarist (that Rob guy) plays the chorus. I am well aware that Matt himself does this live, but for god's sake, people who play the Exo Politics chorus with a FUCK-TON of percussive strumming still piss me off. This, combined with the monolithic fuzz on the bass, makes a pretty messy show :(

I know I'm being a complete arsehole, but playing the Exo Politics chorus with percussive strumming in between the chords is like garnishing a beautiful dish of finely prepared French cuisine with a tub of margarine.

I understand where you are coming from, but compared to the usual shit covers that are posted here that is an award winning performance.

It sounds like this dude has worked out the notes by himself (hence the lack of chords). He's also adding his own little licks too. Both these points are more commendable than just shredding through a song. Sure, he's not great now. But he's got the right angle to be.

he'd have the right angle to be great if he was actually playing the right notes to start with, but a lot of the time he's just not. for a start he seems to base what he plays more on the vocal melody than the guitar part, and in this particular video just listen to what note he ends the chorus on - it's just plain wrong, no matter how much artistic licence people are prepared to give him credit for

It's not you - the neck on that thing looked ridiculous (along with everything else)

i'm sure it's doing it's job holding a fence together somewhere.
