2015.07.04 - City Square Festival, Arras, France

Recommended Posts

GoogleMaps isn't giving me the location of the venue. Help! Also, does anyone have experience with this festival? Advice?

It's Main square festival, not City square

;)

Arras is located in the north of France, in the Pas-de-Calais department, near Lille, Lens and Douai.

The festival used to take place on the "main square" of the city but from now on I think it's held in the "citadelle", it's nice, Arras is a great city, very charming!

And it's only 50 minutes away from Paris by train, the station being very close to the venue. Very convenient.

As for Google Maps, just look for "Citadelle d'Arras"

Sold out? Glad I got my ticket early then. Looks a lovely venue and a beautiful town, may spend a few days there.

I'd like to get a ticket to this too. Looks like a lovely little jaunt across the water for those in the UK not going to Download.

say their packages for this show are not yet on sale. A possible hope though if the general sale was 3 months ago perhaps a remote one...

Fans are REALLY angry because Royal Blood won't have finished their concert when Muse's starts! It will be the same before with Skip The Use who will play before Muse on the same stage, fans will miss the beginning of Royal Blood's show on the other stage.

Cheers to the lovely French "workers" at Calais for jeopardising my trip this weekend

DPDS ferries should sack the flaming lot of them when they take over tomorrow, plenty of migrants camping out over there who would jump at the chance of a job

I just found out that the concert will be broadcast live on the internet !

http://www.code-making-machine.com/mainSquare/

The message says : "For the first time this year, the Main Square Festival offers everyone the opportunity to attend their favourite artists' concerts !

From July 3 to 5, every day, several concerts will be broadcast live, for free and with no advertising, on the festival website http://www.mainsquarefestival.fr.

All Muse fans who could not get tickets for Saturday, July 4 will have the opportunity to watch live the full gig. It's the same for Rival Sons, Madeon,George Ezra, Sheppard, Oscar And The Wolf and Rone (among others) !

Full details will be available from Thursday, July the 2nd on http://www.mainsquarefestival.fr."

Sorry for the possible mistakes, my English is not perfect at all ! ;)

Your English is pretty darned good, I can't find anything wrong with it! Am so excited for Main Square, travel plans look to be unaffected by the strike now. I am convinced I am going to be the only English person there :(

Thanks @madcowjo ;)

I really wanted to go there with a friend, but our parents said no because we were too young :$

(doesn't matter, we'll go to another festival next year :p)

Oh, I'm sure you won't be the only English person ! Arras isn't really far from England, I mean, it's located in the North of France so I think several English people will be there ^^

I'll be watching the show on the internet (I hope my internet connection will be better than last night for Roskilde Festival !).

Brilliant last night, apart from Madness, but hey ho the French seem to love it. Great to hear Supremacy and Apocalypse Please. Sound was a bit iffy where I was but Matt's vocals were superb. But please don't play JFK prelude without following it with Defector though, was a real let down even though I love Uprising. It was so hot in the square and very cramped, the Green Room was much a much nicer environment. Oh and to whoever hid one of my shoes from outside my tent last night...Grow Up but yah boo sucks I found it so NER!. Hurry up with the UK tour lads. X
