I've never understood the stick grading system - anyone care to explain?
-
It's Kev being a pervert ....
-
So.... What is everyones favourite drum solo?
-
A kid I used to teach drums to - I actually helped him buy it a few years ago for £400 ! The little bastard owed me £100 anyway, so I totally low-balled him and he oddly went for it !
-
New beat's the one! I got top from the top/bottom labels . Cheers for that site - I'm hoping the odd sizes will help with ID:) ! While we're at it, do you have any tips for tuning? The toms have half-head things on the bottoms...
-
I use a single pedal and I don't do heel-toe stuff... Whos team am I on?
-
I beat you all by having two singles and two bass drums . New (lol) kit: Some chrome-finished Premier thing (two up, two down) with an extra bass drum, the most tonk hardware I've ever seen, 'project one' snare, 14" 'top beat' zildjian hats, 16" Zildjian K dark crash, paiste 505 dry ride and some powercolor crash thing.... All for £100 ! How can I find out the exact model? The kicks and rack toms are relatively big and shallow (with reinforcing hoops), with internal damper thingys !
-
It's not going to sound like MotP .
-
Maybe, although from what you've said it sounds like he's building an octaver with a variable (sequenced) mix control... You ideally want a pedal with three paths: dry, one octave down and one octave up, with a on/off for each on each step.
-
Cheers, gives me a good place to start - Looks like I can get the Ludwig new for that much but I should probablylgo and try a few out somewhere!
-
Right, that sounds like the end of it ! Niles: What kindof kit should I be looking for in the ~£350 range (secondhand)?
-
Without even listening to it now I can tell you that there are at least three different octaves...
-
Acoustic probably (it's for for my brother to practice/possibly gig with) - I'm not fussed about zillions of cymbals/toms/etc, just a fairly decent smallish 4/5 piece plus hardware, hihat and maybe a crash + ride...
-
Someone who knows what's what in drums, please can you tell me what one should expect to get for £350? Secondhand btw !
-
Is it a wierd kind of 'burp' or frog noise? If so, it's chris and an envelope filter:) .

Hahaha - I love the way it's got a bill and ted riff-out thing but for real !
-
Fuzz + filter does that.... The filter emphasises different harmonics in the fuzz tone, which are already massively emphasised by the fuzz.
-
Haha Oh yeah, plus your username is vornz - I know a Siobhan who everyone calls Vorny...

Sooo, has anyone priced out Dom's kit? I'm very tempted to get a see-through set when I've earnt some money !
-
But at certain settings they sound pretty much the same.

Have a read of this: FX Guide - it should clear a few things up .
-
Well you did suggest delay pedals - if you'd read the thread then you'd know how silly that sounds !
-
Pretty much any 'stepped' effect will sound a bit like it.
