FearAndPanic
It's definitely some sort of apocalyptic scenario. I always imagined the people in the sky were like 'the chosen ones' and the guy on the ground had taken his mask off in awe of the people flying above. I think Matt described it as "Why haven't I been chosen?" at one point, yeah.
MattXXI
I'm sure this has been discussed before but Idk if this is correct: the cover of Absolution: it's a picture of the Rapture, when all true christians are taken into the sky by God and taken to heaven (at the end of the world), hence all the identical shadows on the ground. The man on the ground looking up in awe is a non-christian staring in disbelief. what do we think? correct? There is no wrong answer, since the band has said its up for interpretation. This is a reasonable view on it though.
bruce57
I'd say the gasmask was protecting the guy from poisonous gasses somehow related to the apocalypse. then he took it off to be able to see better what was happening in the sky. bruce57
oh come on, Muse>>>>Radiohead obviously, but I still like radiohead a lot. theyve accomplished many things Muse have not. Muse will always be better, but Radiohead is fantastic, as well.

YallaYaBatteekh
I don't enjoy Radiohead's music as much as i enjoy Muse's. Muse's new stuff is way much better than half of what Muse have produced during their early year, in my opinion.

There are many more heavy riffs now! Also there are less commercial songs and no cheesy lyrics to be seen! Guiding Light is the best song they have ever done! It is musically complex and simply a fantastic song to jump around to.
