It's gonna sound really wierd, but Karina, who was 100% responsible for the meeting, swore me to secrecy. I wanted so badly to come back and share it with everyone (the only people I know who would react more than "Well, that's good")but she was adamant that she didn't want me to. I've kinda been stressed about it; I dn't know why I felt I had to listen to her, and I was worried that you would all think badly of me, but I really wanted to share it here on the boards. (I really hope I don't sound like as much of a freak as I think I do. I'm sorry.) It seriously made my life! (In combination with a mini-vacation I really needed, 2 spectacular gigs, and 2 days of queueing with musers.) You know, I keep thinking that Matt probably gave up on looking for a ride on one of the trucks because he probably figured that tons more people were gonna show up back there. The sexy plane was so funny, and such a pleasant difference from the whining I expected. I'm kinda shy, so I doubt most of you remember me, but I was number 28 in line, aka the idiot with no jacket or umbrella. I was soaked to the bone and freezing for a while, but it was so worth it. Even if the setlist was standard, the gig was incredible, as always. Also, I actually got to meet Matt and Emily from Metric before this gig. I posted the story in the Raleigh thread, but I thought I'd paste it here too, in case you wanna hear about it. First, some replies. I was motioning to Chris to throw me the harmonica, and he kinda sheepishly shook his head when he tossed it to the cameraman. For a split second I thought I had a chance at it. :'( The bra was thrown in Raleigh by Kelly (tigermilk) who was next to me on the barrier. No one mentioned Mountains by Biffy Clyro. <3 them [spoiler=Long story about meeting Matt]Ok, so in Charlottesville I had taken a rather long walk with another girl, Karina. (It was my first autumn and C'ville was beautiful!) We found the back entrance for the buses down a hill and decided to wait there to try to meet them. I figured it'd never happen, but it wouldn't hurt to chill there for a bit. So we chatted with security, who let us sit on the curb, and one of Muse's cameramen (who later gave Karina a setlist) when we saw Emily Haines from Metric come out. We asked for a pic and she told us she would after she called her boyfriend. We got so excited waiting for her to come back from her walk around the neighborhood, and we got her picture on her way back in. She also complimented my Muse shirt. [spoiler=Emily!!] Not even 5 minutes later we saw Matt riding around on his scooter. We hollered his name a few times and waved him over, and he came! I was too dumbfounded to say much, I told him that he/they were great in Raleigh and he thanked me. Karina asked if they would play Microcuts and he laughed and said he couldn't remember the last time they played that. She told him it was awesome in Philly in 2007. He liked her home-made Muse shirt and said he couldn't remember if Melissa had 2 l's or 2 s's He also told us he was riding around trying to see if he could get a ride on one of the trucks, so he was looking for one in a good position. That is one great photo (with Matt) and Emily is TALLLLLL. Matt is so handsome and I bet you think he is even more handsome to you now! I want to meet him @discoprincess32 - I love your signature. Karina said she wanted to meet them again (she had in 2007) and she thought that our best bet was before the show. I didn't really think it would happen, but she was right. In fact, I met up with Christina and Robin (Ella and her mom, who have really looked out for me at every Muse gig I've been to) afterwards when they gave me a ride back to my hotel and immediately spilled everything.
