  1. http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/features/42887/Muse-Weve-never-been-the-kind-of-band-that-want-to-preach-to-people Favorite song is The Handler but also points to the Globalist....KEEP THE HYPE TRAIN GOING!
  2. Yeah see I actually think the solos sounds SUPER sharp, eccentric/unique in one or two parts as compared to the live version but pretty much in line with the live version. I think its Matt's All-time best solo. Never really thought about it but Muse doesn't have a HUGE number of guitar solos in there catalogue, maybe 15-20 or so and by solos I mean longer than 15 seconds minimum. But this is probably due to the musical complexity to there music in general. That and they Riff a lot which may take up the space of potential solos. But i'm loving the studio version of Reapers. Best song they've recorded since Exogenesis and the best rocker kind of song since Knights of Cydonia.

  4. This is the best production of any Muse album thus far, just a very piercing sound. Not muddy at all and Matt's guitar has never sounded so powerful on an album before without it being to loud. So glad this didn't pull a Supremacy, which is still a great song but its unusually weaker on the album than it is live. Reapers is almost better on the album!!! Reapers 10/10 Dead Inside 10/10 Pyscho 9/10 Mercy 8/10 Best start to an album since Absolution, bring not the rest!! THAT CHORUS THOUGH!
  5. Holy tits batman, this is the most pure a rock sound I think they've managed to capture in the studio, sounds just as powerful on the album as it does live, MVP has to go to Mutt Lange right????
  6. Yeah I agree, I totally love some of there more Queen style songs, like Survival and United States of Eurasia. Its like I know its cheesey but musically there awesome. The only one I didn't like was Big Freeze. Never got the U2 comparisons for that song and this is coming from a MAJOR U2 fan. Definitely sounded more Queen to me. But maybe the reason I don't like Big Freeze is because there isn't really anything musically interesting about it where as USOE has the awesome piano and string section and Survival has the incredible guitar action. So i'm looking forward to Revolt/Defector just as much as the other songs!
  7. Would be really cool if it was a B-Side, were all going to buy the album anyways but maybe they could hold over a B-side exclusively for people who pre-order the album via itunes? Highly doubtful though since we haven't had a proper one since Black Holes and Revelations plus this was a concept album and I doubt they recorded anything else. But Outside of this and a stream or new gig announcements not sure what else it could be...

  9. Totally agree with the lack of consistency. Easily there worst "Album" to listen to as a whole. Its really just a collection of different sounding songs.
  10. Almost a perfect album for me 5/5 Stars Masterpiece Level 1. Stockholm Syndrome 2. Blackout 3. Butterflies and Hurricanes 4. Apocalypse Please 5. Sing for Absolution 6. Hysteria 7. Ruled by Secrecy 8. Time is Running Out 9. Endlessly 4/5 Stars Great Level 10. The Small Print 11. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist 12. Falling Away With You Overall Average: 4.75
  11. I do like the slow build up too. Really? No panic Station or Animals? I can see the dislike for the rest of the album, with Supremacy being awesome live and kinda weak sauce on the album.
  12. Musically no but the fact that Isolated System is so repetitive and its 100% instrumental doesn't help it in my book despite that its a uniquely composed song, and Matts vocals on Follow Me towards the end are pretty good. So better song? Probably not. More enjoyable to listen to and played more often? Absolutely.
  13. Of all of there albums this one's grown on me the most, I used to not care much for the middle of the album (Soldiers Poem - Exo-Politics) 5/5 Stars Masterpiece Level 1. Knights of Cydonia 2. Map of the Problematique 3. Hoodoo 4. Supermassive Black Hole 5. Take A Bow 6. Starlight 7. City of Delusion 8. Assassin (This one really grew on my over the last year, not sure why I never really listened to it much) 4/5 Stars Great Level 9. Invincible 3/5 Stars Good/Average Level 10. Exo-Politics (Grown on me over the years but musically its not that interesting) 11. Soldiers Poem (Cool vocal song but compared to the rest of the album its not as cool, but very pretty) Overall Average: 4.54
  14. 5/5 Stars Masterpiece Level 1. Supremacy (Its probably 4/5 on the album but live its solid) 2. Panic Station 3. Animals 4. Madness 4/5 Stars Great Level 5. Prelude/Survival 6. Follow Me (Actually a coolish track Live) 7. Save Me 3/5 Stars Good/Average Level 8. Explorers 9. Isolated System 2/5 Stars Not So good/Sketchy Level 10. Unsustainable (cool live, kind of repetitive on the album) 11. Big Freeze (Drums are awesome though) Overall Average: 3.81
  15. I think its catchy as heck, love the falsetto, bass lines awesome, piano bit is cool. Great single. Prefer the other songs we've heard thus far but I love this. This album is sounding WAY better then The 2nd Law through just 3 studio cuts. Plus reapers rocks
  16. If you search Mercy via google and sort it by the last 24hrs you should find a link within either twitter or reddit for a download. Regarding the mixing I think its okay, the only thing I would do is lower the volume of the vocals slightly, bring up the drums a bit after cleaning them slightly. The piano sounds perfect, bass is perfect and the guitar is rough but I like that for this song. But all arguments aside I do see why people are complaining about the mix as its not as "pristine" as Dead Inside or Psycho. But I don't think its meant to be. Not sure what there talking about in terms of clipping to be honest though.
  17. LOVE mercy so far. Best first 3 songs released from an album before it came out for Muse since Absolution for me. Love Matt's Falsetto in this song, and I really do like they layered vocals in parts of the chorus that you can't really hear live. Glad they kept the guitar fairly heavy in the chorus as well.
  18. Reapers was stellar, so good to hear a pro-shot version. This is going to sound awesome on the album if the production of Psycho/Dead Inside is anything to go off of. Reapers is quickly becoming one of my more favorite Muse songs ever but I'll have to wait for the album version to make a final judgement.
  19. Guiding Light, I know its 80's cheese but the guitar solo is mighty good, and Matt's vocals are tremendous, and the lyrics fit the song. Now to prepare for the barrage of haters...
