I waited six years to tick off just one more song off my bucket list so I'm pretty convinced either I or the band will die before it is finished, and it's probably a better use of time to start placing bets on who will go first. Either that or I become really rich.

This is basically what I said, except remember that in his professional night-after-night performances he's playing bass.

He's been playing bass for decades and especially in a style that is very locked in and steady. It's not surprising it sounds more dull especially compared to Matt's rather loose live playing.

So they said every song will have a video and we've seen some sense of continuity but with the current songs being done in release order this is gonna be fucked. Something Human goes directly into The Dark Side but they are not at all next to each other on the album.

I hear the chords of course but it's that unison that gets me. It does sound like guitar (especially considering the solo) but it's a weird mix where the synth already sounds guitar like and the guitar sounds synth like. Wanna see how it works live.

Chris has felt a bit absent in this album which is a shame coming from Drones. Dig Down is just more basic Kitara stuff and Thought Contagion has a nice line but it repeats without variation.

Time Is Running Out if anything fits even more with the style now.
