  1. According to you. By the way, you literally said "Black Holes is all very catchy, cheerful music". So what is cheerful about the lyrics we posted? Like others have said, Egyptian? First off, what even is a "catchy beat" as you've described it? And CoD being one of the catchiest songs they've made. Sure that might be your opinion, but it's obviously not shared by the majority. Resistance is one of their most streamed songs ever, and it is most certainly a catchy pop tune. Just because it has a dark intro that doesn't mean it's not accessible. How do you even define light? And how do you define cheerful? None of this is making any sense. What kind of theme are you talking about here? Sonically? Lyrically? Genre-wise? Because OoS is probably their most sonically consistent album ever, and most of the songs would fit into the same genre. On the other hand, how is The Resistance thematically consistent? also lol at the comment that Showbiz would be darker and harder than OoS.
  2. And do you think you deserve your freedom No I don't think you do There's no justice in the world There's no justice in the world And there never was That part always cheers me up.
  3. It's a G4 indeed, which is actually a note he has started struggling with a bit these days. Remember what happened to the G4 in Resistance. And he's a bit flat on some of the G4s in MOTP these days.
  4. The first performances of songs these days are usually the best (Dead Inside being an exception). Then he lowers the notes or replaces them with falsetto a few gigs/months in. Happened with Survival, The Handler, Madness and Resistance.

    DIG DOWN

I'm pretty sure it's not their decision. They're just more okay with it these days.

    DIG DOWN

Well yeah he's singing them along with the backing vocals probably. But he's singing throughout the entire track.
  7. Yeah I don't think Matt specifically said it was unheard songs, just unheard material. I'm thinking more old demos and such as well.
  8. And just like that, Matt reels the alienated fans right back into his arms. Late 2017 early 2018 is gonna be full of disappointment because people gave them one more chance and bought tickets in the hopes of getting oldies as part of the re-issue. Spoiler: there were no oldies. But hey the reissue sounds cool.
  9. Not sure you know what "single" means, but yeah, I think it was Mozza who said that it's embarrassing that songs like Sunburn actually sound more current than their new stuff when played live. Origin of Symmetry has aged really really well too, while what they've been doing lately was outdated already in the 90s.
  10. New perfect setlist since the release of Dig Down: 1. Map of the Problematique 2. Bliss 3. Hyper Music 4. Dead Star 5. Plug In Baby 6. Citizen Erased 7. Ruled By Secrecy 8. Sunburn 9. Space Dementia 10. Animals 11. Assassin 12. The Handler 13. Butterflies & Hurricanes 14. Time Is Running Out 15. Unnatural Selection 16. Stockholm Syndrome 17. Take A Bow 18. Sing For Absolution 19. Muscle Museum 20. Showbiz
  11. Honestly, it doesn't work that way. Our complains will only look incredibly petty to anyone who isn't really into Muse. Muse have made a conscious decision to focus their attention on the people who love Madness and Starlight (no offense to those people), so those of us looking for something else should simply look elsewhere. Don't give Muse your money if you don't like what they're doing. Let them stand there and wonder why the crowds are getting less and less responsive when they've marketed themselves with songs like Madness, Mercy and Dig Down for years.
  12. It's funny how they tried to stay cohesive for one album (Drones) and still kinda failed, and now Matt feels like they're done with that, and that it's finally time to get back into albums that are all over the place.
