  1. People posted very sensible posts about why it was totally outrageous for some individuals to expect Muse to split up just because these particular individuals didn't like what they were doing.
  2. I don't remember that I did. But if someone can't see that a thread named "Should Muse split up?" full of posts from the usual complainers who thought they should, simply because they weren't playing songs these particular individuals liked anymore (despite the fact they were playing songs that thousands of other people liked) wasn't insensitive and totally ridiculous, then well, I give up! But tbh we really don't need to drag that up again!
  3. That wasn't my argument. My argument was there's no point starting to moan about the next tour that will have new songs which we haven't even heard yet. Surely that is something to look forward to, rather than just take it as an opportunity to once again moan about the fact that the past is no longer here.
  4. The difference is, I come on here to enjoy Muse, likely many other people on here who don't dare comment. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here. And btw, I did see the thread before, just didn't have time to comment, just felt like it tonight, and my comment is just as valid as anyone's. Why should a thread be full of people having a go, and then when someone more positive comes on, they are shot down?
  5. I wouldn't say I lose too much sleep over it. I have too many more important things in my life to think about, and I can always listen to the songs on CDs. It doesn't make any difference to my enjoyment of Muse which songs they play at gigs. Nor am I changing my argument. Things aren't black and white, just one thing or another, it's a mixture of considerations. Who knows Muse's reasons for what they do, I only go by what they say and attempt to be logical about the rest, but I seriously doubt whether endless moaning is going to get anyone anywhere.
  6. No the best feedback is what they get from the audience. Muse want to play songs that please the audience. And if they get good feedback for songs such as Feeling Good which they do consistently, they are going to keep playing Feeling Good. Remember their comments when they first played Bliss I think it was? Something like "oh five people want to hear this". I wonder whether they trusted the polls. Afterall there was nothing stopping people from voting in relation to gigs they weren't attending.
  7. No of course, you're right, that's not true. That does them a disservice. I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands of people who would enjoy hearing old songs but I was referring to the people who find any opportunity to complain on here. It's always the same minority. The fact is Muse will perform what they want to, so endless moaning seems pretty pointless to me. They already know that some of the fans on here are desparate to hear old songs!
  8. That's not the point though. The point is that some folks take every opportunity to rehash the same old arguments over and over again and it gets very dull. I like to hear some of the old classics as much as anyone but Muse aren't some tinpot little band who organise their setlists around 20 people. I personally happen to like their new stuff just as much. Some don't that's up to them, but Muse will move on whether or not a small minority of their fans don't want them to.
  9. Basically I think people are overthinking it. Yes I agree that Matt wants everything perfect, and fucking up is a bit of a issue for him, but more than that, I think that he's going on what he wants performed when he goes to a gig, which is the hits. He said it about Prince. He was so pleased that Prince played all his hits. I think it was Jo Wiley who commended Muse on the fact that they don't indulge themselves, they play the stuff that she felt people wanted to hear, which is the hits. PS The next tour will have an extra ingrediant of course - new songs! I can't see anything to complain about that and am happy to wait and see. I can't see the point of bemoaning the loss of the old, life moves on!
  10. Oh God Ju! I've been so overwhelmed with work that I didn't even look at a Muse tweet! Must be bad! It's a little better now, I was preparing for a presentation and had every technical error you could imagine going on. I was thinking that it's time like that I think there is a God and I am being punished! lol! So anyway I missed the baby announcement, and my internet is down and Twitter is restricted so I can't even sent a congrats! Ah well looks like Chris got plenty!

  11. PS Matt has said he feels more in touch with the audience when he's front stage than playing the piano. That has nothing to do with whether he has his eye's open. It's about feeling the vibe and reacting to that. Accept his interpretation!
  12. Tbh I don't think they have showed signs of being bored. They seem very happy, particularly with the idea of becoming the biggest band in the world, more than Matt. He's never said that. He's always said it's about the music.
