Isis are a very good live band and I'd disagree about the Russian circles vid. I found it pretty good and didn't get bored the music was good enough to hold my attention and they weren't just standing there. They did however seem a bit nervous? Maybe I'm picking up on things that weren't there.

I can see why you wanted to make a shorter track the other one is pretty intense! I'm far from set in my ways but I do like hearing lots of possibilities in my music. You've done a good job

well I like porcupine tree 17 min long trek. But it breaks up into five separate parts making it more interesting. Plus it all depends how lyrics are used in a song. Stuff that's all instrumental can get dull.

I'm not having a go I'm just saying subtle little changes make the difference. A few notes here and there can always give it a boost.

I'd disagree there entirely because no matter how short a song is people can still get bored of it because of to much repetiveness.

Yep true. But there also has to be a bit more to a riff then it repeating over and over. Such as subtle changes with it to keep people hooked.

You say not sounding like muse like its a bad thing? Anyhow it sounds pretty awesome. But it does feel like it drags on for a bit with the main riff. You can only repeat the same thing over and over before people lose interest as I've learnt.

Cheers tom Yeah thing is about the tracks there is they're the only ones I've managed to finish in some sort of way. I have a lot of upbeat/acoustic and almost metal tracks but my drummer can't keep up with tempo or hold the song. I've been meaning to change things around but every time I do it seems to either make the arrangements seem to small or make them sound out of place. The heat track was kinda thrown together in a practice and recorded in a really bad way. The only thing that we got out of it that was good was my guitar parts and the bassists rather catchy bass line. As for the I want out its still getting vocals written so its gonna sound like its going over and over until the vocals are in place. btw I don't do singing coz I don't have teh bawls. But yeah I will have newer tracks up soon that are alot more rock inspired and alot more upbeat. Cheers Tom for the feedback

OK so I need some harsh criticism on a few on the tracks up on my myspace. They haven't been mastered just mixed very roughly. Some of the tracks up here are just put up to fill up space and are no where near complete. http://www.myspace.com/14786sam Be brutal! I need to find out what needs changing for another persons viewpoint. EDIT: by the way the tracks I need your opinions on are called "heartbeat" "who doesn't have eyes" and "rabbit in your headlights remix". Many thanks.
