Matt's Jawbone
Yes, it is, but it's not a secret that the production of BH&R is far from optimal. Listen carefully that album, and then TR or T2L. TR is pretty clipped too. T2L though has some smooth ass production, I just love how deep the bass sounds on Panic Station.
Matt's Jawbone
There is something about Absolution that just bugs me. It's not full brickwalling like Black Holes but it does get irritating after a while. Yeah it sounds like its coming from a Windows 98 era computer speaker. No Muse albums are as badly produced as Iron Maiden's Dance of Death. The production on that album is so terrible it's exhausting to listen to. It's quite loud but not too loud. There's still some depth to the sound and dynamic range. Their worst sounding albums for me are BHAR and Origin. The2ndwub
the only mistake that really should have been noticed by them is on chris' vocal track in save me when he first say's "denial" there's a weird clipping noise there

FabriPav
And the fact that the beginning of Survival is fucked up if you don't listen to Prelude with it. I don't feel this at all. It's not like the songs flow too much together...
Bumpypotato
I know we've moved on from Abso's production, but I've always felt that it's too smooth and polished. It has some of their heaviest songs, but the lack of grit makes them boring.
Peter.
Apocalypse Please is not loud enough. It loses like half of its epicness.

Peter.
Just turn up the volume already at the max. I can only enjoy it if it's the first song I listen to that day, otherwise it will be a lot more quiet in comparison.
Bumpypotato
I think the only Muse album that really gets the balance between loud and soft right is Oos.

There is a fucked up note at the beginning of Survival on the album that doesn't exist on the single version. It sounds like the two tracks weren't separated properly in editing.
