Olly.
In 2009 BBC Radio 1 created a series of new idents for TV that featured Muse as the backing track as well as the band in the actual advert covered in silver. The series of ads were eventually shelved due to the media finding out about costs and a big hoo-har of waste of money etc. Small snippets were used but not to the same effect as the full film. I along with 3 other board members were lucky enough to get in involved and riff to Knights of Cydonia in slow motion with lightsabers (designed and built by the guy who did Star Wars). Finally the finished advert has been released (maybe due to contractual reasons I don't know). Thought this might be of interest to those who were around at the time and might enjoy it... mjartrod
I remember everyone saying at the time that it was a bigger waste of money to actually have the ident ready and then not use it Glad it can now see the light. Looks so cool
FabriPav
Yeah, I don't get why they didn't use it It is quite cool. Silver Bellamy looks weird.

JessicaSarahS
That was great! They should have used it.
Morinphen
I always wanted to see the "real thing" aside from the bit with Zane and the "here's-King-Arthur" one, so thanks a lot.
Killer Rabbit
There's a part of me that thinks it's cool. There's another part wondering what the fuck I just watched. I'd say that's advertising mission accomplished. Shame it was produced and not used, since a lot of work clearly went into it.
leetroot
That explains why some bits of it look familiar. My favourite bit is Chris Moyles lol.
Sunflower1mdp
Pretty cool looking especially the parts with the band in silver.
redneonfish
I'm sure the Beeb could've gone without a few episodes of dross like Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic to pay for it.
mskatie
Very cool and visually stunning. I feel like this might be something you have to be British to fully appreciate.
