  1. Me too. Also, even if it's slightly OT, I have a feeling a good chunk of the synth parts we hear in the songs we have so far are actually played with a guitar running through a GR-55 or similar, like we saw in that IG post showing Matt playing the DR Manson.
  2. That "pseudo-chorus" doesn't convince me, though. Other than being the title of the song repeated on and on, the way it's rhytmhically processed makes it too similar to Madness. But I can dig the overall sound: the verse strikes me like MK Jam and Monty Jam rolled into one.
  3. He said it was "a big guitar riff", so maybe the song will take off from the snippet we heard onwards. EDIT: Wait... Seems there may be guitar doubling that acid synth going on in the chorus. Or am I mistaken?
  4. To tell the truth, the electric guitar goes on even after that line. You can hear it gliding right before the "gone" and playing a octave lower, effected with a synthy, flanger-like modulation. It's a little hard to catch it and distinguish it from a proper synth, but it's there. EDIT: Also, in the instrumental version of the song you may notice the bass getting crunchy at the end of the second repetition of the second chorus A section, right at the "I need something...". Such a cool detail! EDIT2: Oh, and during all the 2nd verse there's a guitar/bass hard-panned right and mid-sided, playing a sort of bordone and following obsessively the ac.guit. part to strengthen the lower notes.
  5. Just watched the extended footage on Jools Holland. If there's something negative about the performances of SH and TDS it's clearly the bad mixing, but it's not the band's fault. Also, the acoustic was thin and out of tune, and I found very strange to hear Matt singing the lower harmony on SH. Regarding the rest, though... Wow. Matt's vocals were on point and I'm so looking forward to hear those luscious synths live, and the overall "echoey" vibe they have given to SH. And that TDS guitar solo... man, just fantastic. I love that rawer tone in comparison to the studio version (which I love all the same).
  6. It's Propaganda the track they've worked on with him. And some French fan who attended the Taratata recordings said it's "quite heavy", too, but of course that must be taken with a huge grain of salt.
  7. Oh... oh! Yeah, I get it now, but I'll confess that "urban people" confused me a lot (I may have a good knowledge of English language, but some choice or slang words are still alien to me ). And yes, I agree that's messed up. Thanks to Jobby and everyone who "broke it to me"! EDIT: I deleted that stupid wide smiling face because it was quite inappropriate considering the arguement.
  8. Don't worry, we've already had a bit of drama about DD in the ST album thread.
  9. I'm not thinking about doing anything. It was something personal I just needed to vent, and not even in a deadpan serious way. EDIT: I'm sorry Jobby, I read that reply as bad spirited when it wasn't.
  10. It really never was a bad song at its very heart musically speaking, it's just that Muse fanbase is often so fucking bitchy and finicky it's not even funny. Here, I finally said it.
  11. At this point, I'm seriously starting to think you're indeed trolling. I swear the amount of bashing against DD seems almost irrational. The song may have all the flaws you listed before, but seriously, sometimes I have a feeling people seem to grasp at straws just to make it a lot worse than it actually is, like the comparison with Freedom: outside of those few notes in the chorus and the vaguely gospel-like atmosphere they're literally nothing alike.
  12. Considering the funny, ironic mood of the music, I'd even say he put it into words quite lightly.
  13. Well, if I were in his shoes and read your comments I'd be pretty pissed off to be honest.
  14. Holy fuck, if even you say this song "is not terrible" that means is really good.
  15. What if the order through which the videos are supposed to be viewed reflects roughly the same positioning the songs will have during gigs? To me it goes like this, btw: Dig Down --> Thought Contagion --> Pressure --> Something Human --> The Dark Side.
  16. The video is effing hilarious! So magnificently campy and wacky with all those 80s movie references and clichés! I'd say it's even better than the Panic Station one!
