  1. This is going to be a good few months for music I think.

We can't even blame Jim for that one..

    enit

Also, sounds like he's using a distorted bass sound this time round. Sounds suspiciously Kris Westelholme like...

Yup, Royal Blood and QOTSA, is there anything else coming out this summer?

 that fretboard makes me feel uneasy

  2. I have not yet familiarized myself with that pedal. :nerdherd: Any videos?

Nothing exciting really. But what I have for Jaicen is this...

Somehow I can't picture him saying that... plus it looks like the added strap button for playing it upside down is the schaller type, and I'm fairly sure he didn't use those

It's just one that's MIDI controlled. But I can't talk about it right now due to .. licensing issues.. or something like that. :erm:

#fanboy. Sadly they're not so easy to find now

Went to a Hendrix cover gig the other night, the guy played a G&L strat (a legacy or whatever they're called) which sounded amazing.

...is this pedal based on a certain 5 knob fuzz, but with MIDI magic built in?

  3. Actually. I have no idea.

And no, I don't believe it has.

It does... doesn't it? I bought one, but it's completely justified. For once....Hopefully you'll see why in about a month from now. Or not.

Also, it does appear that I've broken the internet by playing plug in baby on an X-Y pad. That's pretty damn #special

Copying the muff side of a green carrot infatuator.

    ...what's happening in a month?

 what fuzz pedal were you using to do that, since it wasn't a twisty kaoss pad?

  4. canary yellow?

And we will see. I wonder if they re-recorded 'where are you now?' because it's not the same one that was released a while back.

Also, this really doesn't sound bad at all, especially for $200. If only it had a built in DL-4 like the line 6 stuff does.

The can says "new yellow", so that's added some extra tone. Should look good with the blue knobs. You might be able to tell which pedal I'm trying to half copy with this.

Hmm... maybe. That song wasn't properly released or anything was it? Other than on the vinyl soundtrack?

Yeah the katana amp sounds pretty good, plus has a built in oc-3 :awesome:

  5. If they build the DL4 into the amp, then maybe.

And was his setup actually a mettle zone into a peavey bandit? I thought he always used that with the plexi.

On a side note, I can't see myself using the turbo mode on this DS-2 for anything other than a solo boost because of its extreme midrange voicing. It just makes everything sound like nirvana live at reading 1992.

Good man. Usually we don't have Nando's at the meet up as there's now a tradition of sorts, but maybe I can talk the rest of them into it...

    Seems it was

  6. I've only used their pedals really. I never knew he used one of those... apparently they are not bad amps.

And you should. One week in London, and then a week in Devon (would normally spend it specifically in Exeter, but the Works is no longer down the road from the shop!)

If they can make a pedal as good as the DL4, surely their amps can't be that bad. Yup, metal zone + bandit =toan. I played through one a few times years ago and don't remember it being shit.

I'm not one to resist a trip to Nando's.

  7. Are the line 6 amps really that bad? Around half of the posts feature them!

On a side note, I still want to get one of those little peavey decade amps so I can play the no one knows solo. But for some reason they're incredibly difficult to find. As if someone else is buying all of them for a specific purpose.

Will you and Macaroon be coming down for a Nando's with me? Less than two months to go.

Never played one, but they might be alright... or maybe not.

Or you could get a peavey bandit for instant blackened sky tone.

I may be drawn toward Nando's :awesome:. Where in the UK are you going to visit?

  8. I think the NYC show they announced several months ago is the only one on the US tour that's sold out so far.

I still have tickets to this, but can't go. You can have them if you want.

I did not know this was actually a technique. It does add something with certain type of music I guess.

    Also. That strat sounds amazing.

Seems you're not having a lot of luck with timings of gigs.

I've never really thought of that as a technique either. More something I learned to do so big Tom Delonge style arm movements didn't sound horrible.

Do like that strat sound... Milkman amp? Can't really tell what it is.

  9. I would too. I'd be interested to see what sort of venues Royal Blood are playing next tour... you know, after they finish the album.

It seems like it's still possible to get pretty close, even if you're not queuing from 5am or earlier. I did it the difficult way - got there early and didn't move from my spot at all during the show.

And I remember you mentioned that. It was really bad at webster hall too... GA was basically just a massive pool of sweat :vomit:

Hopefully a few more than last time if it sells out insanely quickly again! I think they played at about 1300-2000 ish capacity places in glasgow, so probably about the same size venues but maybe more dates. Still gutted that I missed both gigs

  10. It is. I also once paid under $10 to see Royal Blood at a 250 capacity venue. #CheapAsChips

Yep. That's what I paid to see them at a 550 capacity venue in 2013. No additional charge for the meet and greet either. :ninja: That was my first time queuing though... 3pm to 8pm seems like nothing compared to what I did for the psycho tour show (5am to 6pm)

But then it wasn't out in the cold, and people seemed a lot more approachable at the Muse show for some reason.

Oaft. Would love to see both of those bands in such small venues, especially with tickets that cheap!

I was surprisingly lucky on the Psycho tour. Queued for about an hour and got dead near the barrier... until I couldn't stand the heat and moved back.

  11. I didn't even try to count - I went straight to trying to memorize it.

But... maybe a good way of understanding it would be counting the beats in each measure, and then the amount of beats in the next measure before the 'stab' occurs?

    Assuming it's in 4/4:

You have four measures at the beginning with no stabs (just palm muted notes)

Then the fifth measure you have one STAB three four

the sixth measure is STAB two three four

the seventh measure is the same as the sixth

eighth measure is the same as the fifth

and so on. Maybe there's a pattern, but I've only tried listening that far.

    Sounds about right... I think.

Are you missing them completely on the Ellipsis tour?
