  1. Nice.

QOTSA/Nando's meet up 2k18? Count me in. You and Macaroon need to get a proper facebook so we can make a group event for this. Because it will be all official that way.

Maybe I'll finally meet @dickmovedom as well... seems like the sort of thing he'd be interested in. Nando's and QOTSA.

What a day that’d be! Have you not found me on facebook with your mod search skills?

  2. Get there early for ATDI.

I did, but could barely hear anything other than the drums. The mix was shit when they were on :(

The singer really goes for it. Even when someone hit him in the leg with that drink he didn’t seem fussed. Couldn’t hear him properly but I think he took the piss out of whoever threw it

Any good? And it looks like that QOTSA gig in London next June might be pretty special. Hopefully coming over for that.

    They were brilliant!

    Does that mean #NandosWithTheLads...

  3. And they don't. For heavier strings (assuming you mean heavier than 11s for more QOTSA) I go with rotosound when possible. You can get the purples (12s) or grays (13s)

I think you can get the #JaicenApproved d'addarios in heavy gauges too, but if I'm honest, I haven't bought any of their strings in years. Some of my guitars have come with them, but I always change them out within a week... not so much because they're bad, but because I need to keep things consistent :nerd::herd:

I ended up just keeping that guitar set up for standard tuning, so no C standard QOTSA for me. Might try some rotosounds or d'addarios for the 11s I use for drop C if the EBs keep breaking. Might also get graphtech saddles for my other strat to keep them both consistent :nerd:

  4. Where are the strings breaking @nerd herd? At the saddles, or just in different places?

The problem I'm having is that the plain strings are often corroded right out of the packaging, and they really don't last long at all. The last few sets weren't as bad, but still had some visible texan mojo.

I've been using the Manson strings recently and I'm pretty happy with them. Just wish they were easier to source over here.

Usually at the saddles, but not so much on my guitar with the graphtech saddles. I’ve never really had corrosion though, but I wipe the strings A LOT after each time I play.

I’ll try some Manson ones next time, they don’t go thicker than 10-52 though do they?

  5. Really? I'd say that's easy compared to MOTP! Just a bit time consuming, but not as time consuming as trying to figure out the patterns in every bar throughout MOTP.

My patterns for MOTP aren’t 100% accurate yet.

I gave up trying making one for reapers cause I’m terrible with cubase though. Easier to make an attempt at it using the treadle. Works fairly well... maybe.

  6. That post probably will hit most of K&T in the feels. Thing is, at least we (referring to most other guitarists) haven't spent over 35 years practicing the same recycled blues licks.

It's the equivalent of only playing the psycho riff for over 35 years, and refusing to try something different. I realize we will be playing the psycho riff several decades from now, but it's not because we're all narrow-minded pricks, but because we actually don't know how to play anything else...

Not as bad as the reapers midi file feels.

Doesn't he have a few signature pedals? Must barely be able to play a chord :chuckle:
