Elvira thing confirmed. Uh, we'll see I guess.
-
So something LA-related?
-
Nashville 2013 is by far my favourite US (and it goes straight into Agitated). Agree that 2013 was the best year for US overall, although I do like RAM 2010.
-
Soo... That was just a new Revolt video?
-
I like the Spider-Man theory but the movie won't come out until July, isn't that a really long shot?
-
Boredom. Wish they'd record that one properly and possibly include it on the next album, but it's quite far from their current sound, and I wouldn't want it so polished.
-
A Drones tour DVD would be underwhelming at this point, but with all the effort they put in on that stage and everything, no official live release would be slightly surprising. But I guess that wouldn't require them shooting anything new, or maybe some extra?
Please be a new single.

I don't think you'll hear the difference between the low G/F# and a ghost note in the chord, especially live.
-
You don't really need the low E string to play PIB though.
-
I would too for sure but I kind of felt like including Dead Star (and more generally too many singles from the first three albums) would've been cheating a bit, or at least not being really representative of Muse's singles catalogue.
I'd gladly swap Madness for Sing for Absolution, going by the strict single definition.
As for Reapers I like the idea of PIB flowing into it with its tapping outro.
Edit: looking back at it, it is fairly representative of their poppy single side, so yeah, Dead Star it is.

I'm totally up for a 5'17" concert.
-
The 2nd verse has to be the best Muse live moment ever (1:10 onwards), and maybe overall the best Muse performance ever? I don't know, I can't really put words on what's so special about it beside that crazy verse, but the chorus (esp. the last one) sent such a strong sensation through my entire body. I'm making it sound silly so I'll cut the crap but watching this I thought that no other musician will ever give me anything similar. I don't know if Muse will make me feel this way again in the future (I hope so, and they did on T2L Tour), but even it they don't that band is and will be irreplaceable for me.
-
I guess you could squeeze Unsustainable in as encore opener and Liquid State somewhere else without putting any extra pressure on Matt's voice, and maybe Animals before PIB, if you want to push it.
-
TIRO is a weird one because I actually think it loses a lot of its potency live. The studio version is one of the best things Muse have ever done.
It's probably a bit worn out at the moment but the early performances are among the heaviest Muse performances.
-
Time is Running Out. It's the song that got me into Muse back then, but routine had made me kinda lose interest in it for a while. I've been listening to it a lot lately, and that reminded me how much I love it. The bass is the grooviest they've ever done, the slightly eerie feeling here and there, the power of the second verse, the punch of the chorus and above all, the pre-chorus is one of my favourite musical moments ever.
Also, Falling Away With You finally clicked for me after so many years. Really digging that chorus at the moment.

There wasn't a lot of fear after The Resistance Tour though. He was still nailing Bliss falsettos here and there and also hit the high note in Hyper Music for the first time.
Hyper Music? You mean the A4? That was L/R after the tour and, that's my point, I think most of us were more than happily surprised with Matt's vocals at both gigs, seeing as he'd been avoiding difficult material throughout the tour.
Semantics aside, I think we all agree though; his falsetto was good when he used it on TR tour, but he was keeping it to the minimum and avoiding hard chest notes. Calling him lazy is an interpretation, a declining voice could have been a different possible interpretation back then. Hence why I'm worried about his obviously strained head voice. (but still secretly hoping)
-
I'd also like Follow Me to pop up now and then, especially if it could give Madness a break, but yeah given Matt's shape lately it's really unlikely.
People were worried after TR tour and then T2L tour happened so hopefully Matt will surprise us on the next tour... Although I really fear for his falsetto.
-
Wouldn't say we can't trust them anymore; rather that they were never trustworthy on that matter. Fury can confirm. But yeah they don't seem to mind cheese anymore, too bad the one song they vetoed was their best of that kind.

Dead Inside: 8. Great vocals (esp. in the first part), sexy bass and cool solo.
Psycho: 6. Same opinion as everyone.
Mercy: 5. Quite like the verses but boring chorus, embarrassing bridge and way too generic overall
Reapers: 9. Had to exist as a Muse song. Love it.
The Handler: 8,5. I don't think the solo is too long, it lasts long enough to become cool again after the first tension has come down.
Defector: 7,5. Really like it.
Revolt: 7. Fungettable.
Aftermath: 3. Could have been great but the last two choruses are the worst thing they've ever done.
The Globalist: 8. Like it lots but there is obvious room for improvement.
Drones: 8,5 Love it.
Speculation on future gigs/tours
