I'm sure they've been talking about releasing music in different ways to an album since long before Drones.
-
If only the lyrics were different I would love it. Now I just cringe.
Amen.

Would like to draw attention to an interview with James Dean Bradfield from the Manics. He was asked what he learned from making a solo album. His reply was "not to do one" lol.
Also, see Thom Yorkes and Till Lindemanns recent solo albums. They just do not work.
I haven't actually listened to Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, but The Eraser (Yorke's first solo album) was pretty good. Damon Albarn and Mike Vennart have released good solo albums in the last couple of years too IMO. (although the latter being classed as a solo album is debatable as other members of Oceansize did contribute...)

There's already a pro-shot of Uno from Werchter, right? And we got Futurism last Christmas. I'd like to see a pro-shot of Hyper Music, The Groove, Muscle Museum or Fury from the Psycho tour as we haven't had decent ones of those in a while (unless there's some I'm forgetting). We already had a couple of pro-shots of Agitated from T2L tour I believe, but it was cool to see it in good quality and in such a cool venue. At least they didn't give us Starlight or something
-
Just got the email with the Christmas present… What album is the song agitated from?
It was a B-side... from the Uno single I think? It was also included on the Random 1-8 compilation and a live version was on Hullabaloo.

Setlist spoilers from the crew
At least one of those is good news.

Fury at Manchester Academy was such a nice moment for me, I think it'd been in my top 5 for years Brilliant encore opener as well. To see it from right at the front in such a small venue was like being in a dream or something. God, I hope they do another tour like that either before the next album or in promo for it.
This. It's gonna be so hard for another Muse gig to top that one for me Download was great in terms of setlist (and general performance) but Manchester was just... something else.
(As were, I assume, the other Psycho tour gigs)

Space Dementia soundchecked!!
And Hullabaloo Soundtrack in full

Having Knights on its own as an encore is a terrible idea IMO. Especially with MWAH tacked on.

Expecting a setlist so bland I'll probably forget to even check it.
I saw into the future so you don't even have to bother to remember:
- Drones + Reapers
- Psycho
- Dead Inside
- Resistance
- The 2nd Law: Isolated System
- The Handler
- Supermassive Black Hole
- Prelude + Starlight
- Feeling Good
- Munich Jam + Madness
- Undisclosed Desires
- JFK + Revolt
- TIRO
- Uprising
- The Globalist + Drones
--- - Mercy
- Knights of Cydonia
90% sure that will be it.
- Drones + Reapers

Would we be happy with this for UK rotations?
Map of the Problematique / Resistance
No.
-
I hope that audio snippet is from the new gig intro! Sounds dramatic and full of tension!
It sounds like the intro to Defector. Maybe this means Defector will be an opener for some/all of the gigs?
-
Have they pretty much ditched everything from Resistance and 2nd Law at this point? I don't think there was one good song on 2nd Law and seeing all the oldies comes back makes me want to go and see them live again.;
They're still playing Uprising at pretty much every gig, with Resistance being semi-regular. Eurasia got played a little while back and it looks like UD is gonna come back (yay ). As for T2L, they seem to be playing Madness and Unsustainble quite a bit with Supremacy and Animals at some gigs.
-
I'm assuming that's fake, until we get confirmation either way. I'll probably wait until the actual tour starts in Mexico to make any decisions anyway. If that does turn out to be the standard setlist for the tour (or even the setlist for every single gig ) I don't really see much room for rotation there. They could obviously rotate piano songs which would be ok, but I don't see where songs like Dead Star, Assassin, Stockholm etc could be rotated into that. If they even play them....

People who aren't me arguing that people who feel like other people's opinions are wrong...
The more I read this the more I think it should be the name of a Fiona Apple album.

Speaking of the nicest man in Rock,n,roll....Me and my sis went to the Foo Fighters concert, last thursday night at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. What a show!!!!.King Dave on his throne:D and his mates rocked the house for 2 hours non stop. They played 21 songs. We hade a great time.
I paid 150 euro,s for two tickets.
Dave said'godverdomme:chuckle:
Funny how the curtain got stuck at the beginning of the show:LOL:
It might just be me, but in a 2 hour concert I'd expect more than 21 songs. The other night I saw Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls play 30 songs in 2 hours. I don't think the average FF song is particularly long either, right?

Arguing that people who feel like other people's opinions are wrong are what?

I've seen Dead Star 3 out of 4 times and I'd gladly trade one of those for B&H :'(
-
Butterflies & Hurricanes is criminally underused in this thread. Have you guys not seen it live or sutin like wtf
(it's miles better than CE)
(miles.)
I usually include it. It's on my bucket list of songs to see live. If they could play it when Matt's voice was completely fucked last year, I don't understand why they don't play it more
-
Nah that's too early to make a decision. I'm personally waiting to see what the sets are for the 6 in Paris.
It's mainly the 360 stage and general production that I'm interested in seeing before making my decision. I have fairly low expectations when it comes to the actual setlist. I'm hoping the show will be spectacular enough to make up for the probable lack of rarities.

Not necessarily more like U2, just... more like a band who plays sets that cater to their whole fanbase. Tbh, U2's Innocence & Experience sets got a bit stale and samey towards the end of the tour from what I've seen, but at least they played a decent length set with a few old non-singles/fan-favourites thrown in (Bad, 40, The Electric Co etc.)
