Back before Origin Of Symmetry was released, you said on microcuts that you had the following songs on it - 'Origin Of Symmetry', 'Love Bleach', and 'Razor Song'. Were these tracks that were cut or were they renamed, and if the latter, what were they renamed to?
Not sure if this person will even see this, but I'm pretty sure 'Razor Song' became Screenager, or possibly Micro Cuts.

Yeah, what was the deal with that? No wonder he's only played that song live once.
setlist.fm says they played it 5 times, actually. I think it's actually a shame they haven't played it more, it would be more enjoyable than Feeling Good IMO.

The one about clouds of gas in Big Freeze.

I'd love a Absolution anniversary gig, its a album that means an awful lot to me... But would also love the same for all the others tbh, especially Showbiz.
There's no way they'll ever do a Showbiz anniversary... all the others (except OOS I guess) have at least a small chance of happening but I'd say there's basically 0 chance of Showbiz. Another OOS anniversary is actually probably more likely
-
I could have sworn I heard Matt say something about Showbiz after Bliss at the Manchester gig but I never bothered watching the footage back.
I think he basically just said that they couldn't remember how to play it, and they hadn't had a chance to rehearse it before the gig.

OH MY GOD, YOU GUYS! I JUST GOT BACK FROM D.C. IN THE VERIZON CENTER! IT WAS THE BEST MUSE SHOW I EVER ATTEND--
Oh. You're still negative here. Well then, guess I should spend the entire rest of this comment hating the show.
...I just... I just don't know if I can! I mean, yeah, there was guitarless Starlight and Uprising, and they played Drones twice... but... but Apocalypse Please! Map of the Problematique! Citizen frikkin' Erased! WHAT THE HELL IS WITH MUSE?!
I think the general consensus is that the DC set was one of the best of the tour. The negativity is mostly more towards the general shortness of the sets and Muse's apparent attitude towards the US audiences. I don't think I've seen anyone actually complaining specifically about the DC gig. (unless I've missed one)

I never got any suggestions.
You should call it μse.
-
Because they want to hear those songs?
Would have loved to hear your thoughts on Biffy Clyros gigs at the Barrowlands.
"No, why would you vote for Now the Action Is on Fire and Kill the Old Torture Their Young, they're obviously going to play those"

I only managed to get a Psycho tour ticket because I happened to log on to check the boards a couple of minutes after they went on sale, and everyone else was caught up in technical difficulties which I somehow managed to avoid. I can't see myself being so lucky a second time One of the reasons I'd rather they do a larger gig tbh.
-
Not so much..T2L songs do not fit at these shows and the concept of them..They also play Supremacy now and then, which i don't really like but is a blast listening live!
Undisclosed Desires doesn't fit at the current shows or with the 'concept' and they're still playing it, so I don't think that's really a factor...
-
Literally the only times I ever record at gigs is to take little 30-second-ish clips to send to friends/my gf if a particular song is played (e.g. my gf's favourite song), and even then I rarely do that as the quality is usually awful
-
If this does happen, it had better not be at Glastonbury. A full TV broadcast would be nice (if they even allowed it...) but it would be a slap in the face to fans who aren't able to get Glasto tickets (aka most fans). Unless they somehow dropped hints that it was gonna happen before tickets went on sale, without actually giving away that they were playing...
Of course, I don't think it'll happen at a festival. At an arena/stadium gig hopefully. Not that I think it's likely to happen at all.

Anyone know if "Ruled by Secrecy" has been played on this tour? If not, any chance it makes an appearance? I gave my wishlist in the Washington DC thread, but this one just came to mind. It really is an amazing song.
It hasn't been played yet. I'd say there wasn't much chance of it being played, unless there was a serious fan campaign to get it played.

19. Dead Star (acoustic)
20 Stockholm Syndrome (acoustic )
I actually think these could potentially be really good. I'd obviously much prefer the full versions in a live setting though.
-
If people are wanting them to play US over an actual rarity then that's quite sad. It's not a 'rarity' if it was a frequently played track from the last two albums. Makes no sense to include it
It's sad for me to want them to play a song I like instead of a song I don't like as much? Ok. Also basically what Jobby said.
-
Unnatural Selection being on that list instead of Ashamed is a joke. That's the equivalent of putting Liquid State on there
Maybe it's because US has been played in the last year while Ashamed hasn't been played in over 15 years, and is also much more well known. I'd rather hear US than Ashamed anyway, and I like Ashamed.

Bliss and Map in the same set... not too bad, considering the alternatives. Still needs at least 3 more songs though.
-
Them playing both in the same set must have only happened 5 or 6 times? There was one gig on the Abso Tour where Hyper Music was played, Reading/Leeds, a few Psycho Tour shows and then the random appearances of Hyper Music in 2013?
8 times according to setlist.fm:
Cologne in 2003
Reading & Leeds in 2011
Seoul in 2013
Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and LA in 2015

I have an original thought!
Muse should make second-night syndrome an official thing. That is, they should visit major cities around the world, and perform two shows at each.
Night 1
- Hits and album songs
- Performed at a stadium/arena
- 360 degree stage
Psycho
Dead Inside
Hysteria
Plug In Baby
Isolated System
The Handler
Resistance
Supermassive Black Hole
Starlight
Apocalypse Please
Munich Jam
Madness
Undisclosed Desires
Revolt
Time Is Running Out
Uprising
Reapers
The Globalist
Drones
Mercy
Knights of Cydonia
Night 2
- Fan favourites and deeper cuts
- Intimate club gig
Psycho
Dead Inside
Supermassive Black Hole
Map of the Problematique
Bliss
The Handler
The Globalist
Sunburn
Hysteria
Muscle Museum
Uno
Time Is Running Out
New Born
Uprising
Hyper Music
Dead Star
Reapers
Stockholm Syndrome
This would work as long as they made it clear beforehand which gig was going to get which set. It worked for Steven Wilson at the Royal Albert Hall last year, where the first night was a standard tour set focusing on the latest album while the second night was full of older tracks and several Porcupine Tree songs. Don't see why Muse couldn't do a similar thing.
-
No they didn't. Township Rebellion enit
Hmmm, setlist.fm agrees with you. It says they played Maggie's Farm after Bliss, even though I could have sworn it was after MOTP. Oh well, it was awesome anyway.
-
Map should always and only be followed by Maggie's Farm.
This. Map is always followed by the Maggie's Farm riff in my mind. They did that in Brighton on the Psycho tour and it was so good
-
But the thing is (and it's so easy to do) is throw in 2 or 3 rarities and that becomes a decent set
But then the casual fans will be bored for 10-15 mins which will ruin the whole gig
-
Though by a similar logic, one of the first Muse songs I learned was Shrinking Universe, which is used in the the trailer for the movie 28 Weeks Later, and they haven't played that song in the best part of forever. Probably never will again.
Someone should start #ShrinkingUniverseFor(insert gig here). Not that the band probably even remember that song exists Also I wonder if Matt would even be able to sing the big falsetto properly nowadays... isn't it the same note as Showbiz?
-
Has GL even been played this tour? Or at all, starting from the Psycho UK Tour gigs?
Nope, it's probably only a matter of time though. Can't wait to see what fan favourite they replace with it

Arcane Roots need to support Muse again. They supported at two random stadiums in 2013, so it's only fair we get them as UK supports at some point.
