  1. Yeah. I'd really, really miss it otherwise. I try to find them filming whenever I'm not working or at school, so sometimes I get first-hand set reports. But other times there are people who post their reports online (people who find filming locations for all kinds of shows as a side job) and I find out through them.

Thanks! Yes, well, at least one day I'll be in my Cas costume :awesome:. I might be Dean another day; haven't decided yet. Probably will just because!

Yeah, it really does. I hope so. He is! I KNOW  that would have been the perfect time to ask, too, since there weren't a hoard of people following him and he was the one who came up to me - not the other way around. Coulda, woulda, shoulda... ahh well. I'm fairly sure another chance will arise... like at next year's scavenger hunt! If I can do it again.

  2. Yeah! :chuckle:

It is. :awesome: Haha! That's awesome! Kind of like whenever I get a customer at the bakery from the States and they say they're from Kansas City, I say "OH! I know! That's in Missouri!" and they're always like "whoooa good for you! Everyone always thinks Kansas!". I say I know because I have a friend in St. Louis . Yeah :chuckle:. Anyways, that's great to hear about the Cardinals!

Congratulations! :awesome: Are you going to take the position?

    No problem!

I always forget how early you start. I'm not starting until September 4th!

AHH so jealous . You're going to have so much fun all over again! :awesome:

  3. Haha! :awesome: Maybe more peaceful and patient, but it makes for more boring history classes... :chuckle:

5-2 now! We're tied for second in the West Division. We just beat the other second-place team in a huge game, which was great. I hope the Cardinals get back into it! Right, there's still a lot of games to play.

    Cool! That sounds great .

It'll be a weird mix for sure! I was asked to be a computer science teaching assistant for a first year class, so I'm going to be working while I'm studying. Ahh well if you ever need help with physics or want to ask a question, please don't hesitate to ask! I'd love to help if you want it. The poli-sci course sounds cool! I can't wait either :awesome:

When's the first day for you?

  4. Who knows, though - Cas may have ditched the trench coat now that he's fallen and can't immediately clean it anymore. :chuckle: Although I'd hate to say goodbye to the coat forever... it's iconic!

There will be scenes of Cas rummaging through a garbage behind a restaurant for food and going to a laundromat (where he might get rid his trench coat). Another one of him dressed in completely average clothes in Michigan's Chinatown, giving money to a homeless woman, and checking out a busty young woman too...

Supernatural convention here in Vancouver on Friday :awesome:

Interesting! I still haven't seen it. I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD.

No, unfortunately! It was a lot of fun although very stressful! It finished on Sunday. Unfortunately our main uploader's computer crashed so a lot of our items never got submitted... we've sent GISHWHES an email and we're still waiting to see whether they'll accept them.

There was one "item" in the hunt which was to go to Burnaby, BC with safety pins and some other stuff, and Misha was there. He was really nice and tried to get pictures with as many people as possible - I was too shy and didn't want to bother him so I didn't get one... but I was dressed in my Cas cosplay and he came up to me and complimented me on it :chuckle:

  5. :p

That's true, yeah I'm definitely giving it a chance. Me too. I would have loved that! :awesome:. Did you see the new Supernatural picture for season 9?

    1173887_10151854124637323_975835531_n.jpg

^ All I can really say is - TRENCH COAT?

Have you see it yet? I haven't but I would love to!

The scavenger hunt is HARD  but we're doing okay... I think...

  6. :chuckle:

Mmm yeah, I guess there's no rush to watch it.

    So you say :phu:

What do you think of the new Supernatural spinoff? Not sure how I feel about it yet. Supernatural isn't really the same without Sam and Dean... but then things like Angel worked out okay. I'll just try not to judge it yet without giving it a chance, I guess.

  7. I would never! ... :shifty:

Yeah it was. Since you liked The Conjuring you should definitely see Insidious - very similar types of scares, pacing, etc (noticeably from the same director). I'm looking forward to Insidious 2! Aah yeah those kinds of parts were so unsettling. Like when

    650_zpsa9b69d5c.jpg

  8. Yeah :chuckle:. Nice to see some new photos at least, they've been re-using the season 6 photos to death.

Yeah definitely. Nooo! You cruel person!

Saw The Conjuring - it was pretty good! Can't remember if you saw Insidious but it's very similar in types of scares/effects/sounds/etc. Wasn't too scary though.

  9. Me neither! I'm pretty sure he's in the premiere... he said he's in Vancouver, and he posted a picture of himself in the Bobby costume... so I'm assuming he is.

Did you see the sneak peeks at the new Supernatural photoshoots?

    Jensen/Jared: https://vine.co/v/hAPXzxa5x5H

    Jensen/Misha: https://vine.co/v/hAPeavD2FBx

    What are they doing :chuckle:

Yeah. Luckily they had crew members with umbrellas when they weren't filming :chuckle:. Whoa, good for you! And I'm guessing it's a whole lot hotter where you are than where I am! I know . It's actually cleared up pretty fast, thank goodness.

  10.

No problem! You're right, more independence was gained by the Consitution Act in 1982.

They're 3-1! We've got a good record, but unfortunately almost all the other teams in the West Division do too - Saskatchewan is 4-0 and Calgary is 3-1. On the other hand, the best record in the East Division is 2-2 (Toronto). We're looking good though! Our defence is ranked the strongest in the league I think, and our offence is making visible improvements.

Awesome to hear about the Cardinals! :awesome: It is a long season - I keep forgetting :chuckle:. So still a lot of games ahead; I hope they keep playing strong!

Yeah I still really liked it. When Isolated System came on I excitedly whispered to my friend "THAT'S MY FAVOURITE BAND :D" :chuckle:. I was wondering how Follow Me would fit into the movie.

Good! Have a good time in New York!

Lots of classes! This year I'm taking arts electives to fulfill degree requirements; I'm doing some philosophy courses about the meaning of life and stuff :chuckle:, "Symbolic Logic", and "Greek and Roman Mythology" :awesome:. I'm hoping those'll be on the light and fun side. The science courses will be very hard, but sound interesting. I'm taking "Galaxies", "Planetary Science", and "Quantum Mechanics" among others. Although I'm not looking forward to the math courses - one of them is probability, and that is my mortal enemy :fear:.

    What about you?

  11. Probably. It starts August 11th and will go to either the 17th or the 18th.

Hmm not many spoilers released after the Con. Dean is keeping a huge secret from Sam; that's probably the biggest spoiler.

I hope they have a good reason, too. And a good reason for bringing Bobby back! Apparently he was filming today, which means he'll be in the season premiere.

I found them filming yesterday! They were at UBC; watched for a few hours before I had to leave for work. Saw Jensen and Jared. It was horribly hot though; can't imagine what it would've been like filming in their customary three layers! I got a major sunburn... one of the worst I've had :chuckle: but it was worth it

  12. Very face-palm worthy .

Yeah! :chuckle:. About 15,000 people did it last year from around the world. This year should be even bigger.

    The panel is Sunday!

Also heard that Jensen won't direct and episode this season, and Linda Tran is pretty much confirmed dead. Of course I wish Jensen was directing one, but I can understand why not because he's probably got so much else on his mind. But I wish Mrs. Tran didn't have such a quiet offscreen exit.

I hope they do the Croatoan virus too, or something along those lines. The End is one of my favourite episodes; I'd love for it to turn into a whole story arc! :awesome:. Though it'd be painful to see Cas turn into his End!verse self :( And Dean would turn cold and ruthless too. There'd probably be a bit of a twist on the story though, since Lucifer will probably not be involved.

    Also, they might bring back

    Gabriel!

It would be a pain to have to wait in line like that, but worth it, I think :D! Though missing other panels to line up for one wouldn't be fun... ahh well, priorities ;)

  13. Yeah! Oh okay. Star Trek: The Motion Picture? Yeah that one was really boring. And I didn't get their outfits; they get much better in later movies. :chuckle:

 Yeah. Again, I'm sure it'll be tons of fun still. Well I won't get ahead of myself yet, we still have to beat ~1000 other teams :fear:

    :chuckle: Thanks!

    :rolleyes::p

Well Dean Winchester IS actually my favourite fictional character of all time. :yesey:

Have you been hearing the spoilers coming out about the new season?

    1. Bobby is coming back, and "how" is in a way no one will see coming

    2. New characters:

    - Ezekiel - A possibly-recurring role of a man possessed by a fallen angel’s spirit (maybe this is Bobby?)

    - Hael - Another fallen angel, but this one is a teenage girl who has arrived on earth and is now in a human body

    - Irv - A "manly hunter who is an old friend"

    - Tracy - A "gorgeous bad-ass hunter" (... probably a love interest...)

    3. Sam will be very sick, though how he comes out of that would be a big spoiler

    4. Cas willl deal with humanity in a way we haven't seen before ("uncharted characterization")

    5. Crowley will not be human

    6. Benny may come back

    7. Naomi isn't for SURE dead; she probably is, but you never know

    1. Going by Guy Bee's pictures the Croatoan/2014/"The End" universe will actually come to be!

    2. Angels will have their powers, except for teleportation/flying, and they'll probably blame Castiel for what happened :(

    3. The premiere will pick up right from where the finale left off (i.e. no time skips)

    4. Working titles:

    - Episode 1 - "I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here"

    - Episode 2: "Devil May Care"

Those are all the ones I remember off the top of my head. There'll probably be more from this year's Comicon too! And ahh, Comicon... what I would give to be there...

  14. Good to hear!

Hmm interesting. I haven't seen it yet but I'll let you know what I think. I'd forgotten Perlman was in it! :awesome: I guess he's been in quite a few Del Toro movies now.

Yeah. Oh and I recently found out the grand prize for the hunt. To put it into context - first year was a trip to Rome. Second year was a trip to Scotland! This year - an island near Vancouver . I'm sure it'd be a lot of fun anyways but of course for the first year I'm doing this the grand prize is right next to where I live :chuckle:

Thanks! It took a long time. I'm not expecting to win :chuckle:

  15. I've been away and didn't have internet D:

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I hope you had a great day! Sorry to have missed it!

Ahh I don't know, maybe she didn't get thrown around but I just remembered it that way :chuckle:.

Yeah, Guillermo Del Toro alone is a good reason to see it :yesey:. Well it seems to be getting alright reviews so far. The security for my theater is pretty bad too; it would be easy to sneak in to another movie now that I think of it :shifty:. I haven't seen too many of the Godzilla movies. Maybe I should watch more of the others first.

Well I don't remember it too well to be honest, I just seem to remember that they weren't that many shown... I mean I could be wrong. I would still recommend it though. Yeah, it did.

Thanks :p. Yeah we're pretty organized so far, and finally have a whole team of 15. Just counting down the days now!

On a side note, I'm going to the Vancouver Supernatural convention in August and there's a centrepiece contest; I just finished my entry (I just thought, why not? :chuckle: It's nothing special, just for fun):

  16.

Haha  yeah, I think writing it all out made me realize how much I actually disliked it :chuckle:.

Yeah, I didn't like how RIGHT after the military guy said "oh, don't go out at night, it's too cold and you could slip" or something like that - just because she sees a guy walking around means she HAS to go out and walk on the narrowest ledges to find out... I mean, sure, okay, maybe she has a thirst for adventure in her heart. But that was a bit stupid. Yeah someone should've seen her.

    Re: Zod, hmm maybe.

Exactly, I really remember a lot of people finding out about Clark being Superman. And good point about all the damage to her house. (Also - his mom got thrown a really far distance and got up without injury... especially as an older woman, that's hard to believe.)

    :chuckle: Perhaps it does!

 That is a great review! :awesome: IHOP. Yeah, that's another thing. There was SO much product placement everywhere... and oh yeah, the Jesus... and the tornado they were clueless of... anyways, yeah I agreed with them xD

I'm SO STOKED for Pacific Rim. Reminds me of Gundam. :awesome: (Ahahaha - sneak in after that movie? :awesome:)

Also, Godzilla's filming in Vancouver now.

There wasn't too much explicit zombie violence. In fact, even the zombies getting killed weren't shown that much, if I remember correctly - not at all like in the Walking Dead. The movie was more focused on the humans than the violence. But then, it's hard to remember exactly - I didn't think about that while watching! Well, I'm going to rewatch it later ;)

Yeah.. I can't imagine what I'm going to have to do to get lots of points for my team :shifty:

  17. I'm going to have to reply to you tomorrow - for now, just wanted to wish you a Happy 4th of a July! :awesome:

(sorry I'm a bit late). I hope you had a great day!

  18. Happy 4th of July! (sorry I'm a bit late)

  19. Thank you!. It's the anniversary of the British North America Act, which created Canada out of the union of three colonies, but we were still a part of the British Empire.

There's only been one regular season game played, which we lost (I didn't get to see it but apparently we were horrible in the first half and really picked it up in the second), and we went 1-1 in the preseason. The next game is tomorrow so hopefully they'll have fixed some stuff up! I'm going :awesome:. Ahh that's too bad to hear, I hope they pick it up too! When are the playoffs?

I saw it on Monday! I loved it :awesome:. It was really edge-of-your-seat. I loved the book too, and yeah it was very different. I was curious how they would translate it to the screen. At the time I thought the ending of the movie was very abrupt but I think it's grown on me. Also, loved Isolate System throughout it :awesome:;)

Glad to here! Ahh nice! That sounds amazing. I've never been anywhere like it. My summer's been okay - I'm not doing very much these days except work, but my days off have been very relaxing. I've seen a lot of movies with friends, and have registered for my courses for next year - I'm actually pretty excited for school xD

  20. Thanks! :awesome:

Are you ready? I wrote a lot. I'M SORRY! You may get the impression that I kinda disliked it...

Firstly, it felt like the movie didn't really get started until halfway through. The first half was really slow and repetitive with flashback after flashback trying to show that Superman had a hard/tortured childhood as the odd-one-out, just wanting to be normal... but come on, I got that from the first flashback; no need for the abundance of others. Everytime a flashback came I groaned because they were nothing new and didn't add anything more to the movie - they just made the pacing even worse and felt out of place.

Lois Lane was really boring. Her romance with Superman was sigh-worthy contrived cheesiness. And she kept miraculously showing up everywhere. If it wasn't for Superman she would've died five times over. If she'd died I would've actually felt nothing, I just couldn't care. Actually, Superman was pretty boring too. All the characters were one-dimensional, despite all the flashbacks that tried to show otherwise.

I did NOT understand the laws that governed Superman's powers vs. the powers of those on Krypton - I thought they kept contradicting themselves, a lot. For example - Superman couldn't breathe on the alien ship, but was able to be just fine flying around outer space? If he loses his powers on the alien ship why wouldn't he lose them in the vacuum of space?

The fight scenes were really repetitive too, just people bashing each other through walls of buildings over and over. And the destruction was so overdone, for so much action it was actually really boring. Wouldn't Superman have tried at least to get them to fight overseas or in places a whole lot less populated? Didn't he care about all the people that got killed in the process? He even threw the bad guys into buildings with hundreds of people in them... I don't see how he couldn't think about that. I shudder to think of how many innocent people were killed because of, well, him. He didn't even try to get the fight away from Metropolis. Keep in mind, in dozens of decades worth of comics, Superman would do ANYTHING to save innocent people, and does not kill, NO MATTER WHAT.

I didn't understand how he destroyed the World Engine. He approaches the gravity beam and gets a lot weaker (because the conditions are like Krypton's) but then all of a sudden is able to fly and destroy it in one go. And when Lois falls out the back of the helicopter, she totally should've been sucked straight into the gravity beam. Ahh the physics of this movie.

Clark spent years, arguably even his whole life getting used to the Earth's conditions and working out his powers, yet Zod is able to do so in minutes/hours.

The last fight scene with him about to snap Zod's head made no sense. The lasers were coming out of Zod's eyes, and he was obviously struggling to make it move to the people. Kay, so he couldn't move his head. But couldn't he move his eyes at least? He would've been able to kill the family by moving his eyes even SLIGHTLY to the right. But anyways, I thought there was PLENTY of space for the people to get out of the way. And then Superman snapped his head, but he snapped it in the direction of the people if I remember correctly. Even a small change in angle of Zod's head would result in a whole lot of movement of the laser, right into the cowering people.

I didn't like how he works at the Daily Planet (in Metropolis, which appeared to have been insanely destroyed...) at the very end, and under the name Clark Kent - didn't the world find out from Lois that Clark was Superman earlier? He should've been working there a lot earlier.

And how many lines did Superman even get in this movie? Like, 10? 11? He pretty much just stood around frowning and brooding the whole time.

Overall it had tons of plot holes (more than I've listed for sure), didn't make sense, and was just way too illogical to be enjoyable for me. It had no heart or humanity. It also messed up what Superman is SUPPOSED to stand for, as he has in decades of comic books..

World War Z was really good though!

I thought the ending was kinda all-of-a-sudden and there were a few typical unbelievable coincidences. But there were a lot of really intense moments, and I really enjoyed it overall. Isolated System worked really, really well. And Follow Me was in the credits xD and, it was instrumental. So it actually worked okay!

There's a bit of a gallery on the GISHWHES website! http://www.gishwhes.com/ . Not all the items are on there of course, but some good ones are! :awesome:

  21. Exactly! No idea how it fits in . Hmm I read good reviews about it; I'm definitely going to see it soon. Although apparently fans of the book didn't like it as much.

I didn't like Man of Steel that much, actually. Glad you liked it though!

:chuckle: Here are the items for last year's hunt: http://almaasi.tumblr.com/post/34624870792/gishwhes-2012-list-of-items. It's going to be crazy! Thanks :awesome:

  22. Really! I can definitely imagine Isolate System but Follow Me seems a bit to happy/cheesy for a zombie flick :chuckle:. I don't know, it might work! I've heard mixed reviews for Man of Steel. How did you like it?

I'm going to do Misha's GISHWHES this summer :chuckle:

  23. He probably will!

 Awesome! I love how they've got a supply of redshirts locked in room :chuckle:

Which Muse songs do you think will be in the World War Z movie? :awesome:

  24. Interesting, I can see what you're saying. Perhaps the next movie will have a less serious Spock; it would make sense for him to start out uptight and serious like in the movies and then be the more laid-back serious you mentioned, as in the TV show, since the TV show still happens after the movie.

Speaking of old vs. new Spock: :chuckle:

    Khan was very badass :yesey:.

Ahh I see what you're saying. Well the latest rumour is Joe Cornish, though I'm not familiar with his work. I don't have anyone in mind otherwise!

  25. That is a crazy setlist! Lucky them :awesome:

Nice! I hope they can keep it up. Yeah I'm glad for football! I can't wait!

 It's ridiculously awesome. You can't just watch it once :chuckle: there's too much you'll miss the first time. It was so ridiculous, though. And crazy because Japan can be that crazy too. You can tell they love Japan :chuckle:. I LOVE that they are in World War Z! I'm wondering which songs they will put in. Isolate System for sure (well it was in the trailer). Survival maybe? I'm not really sure, because none of the songs are that dark, and it's a zombie/horror movie, so... we'll see. But I'll always love Muse + zombies :yesey:. What do you think? And lucky all those fans who can see the free Muse concert after the premiere. Very jealous :chuckle:

Nice! You're probably there right now; I hope you're having a good time! :awesome: Tell me about it!
