I thought that at first, but I've grown to like it
The only slight cringe lyric for me is "unleash a million drones"
The vocals on that line are sublime though.
-
Slightly disappointed that the last third didn't really payoff the fairly interesting build-up, but I don't mind it to be honest. It's not amazing, but it's decent enough.
-
The outro is killer. Best part of the song, regardless of how well it holds with the rest.

Who has a different opinion. E-attack! Hides and live at peace again for good.
Why do people keep resorting to this? If you don't want your opinion to be commented on and potentially mocked, don't post.

At least it's better than Unnatural Selection
I'm sure it'll sound pristine in its mix on the record, but my main gripe is not being able to hear jack with the guitar + bass during the verses, Dom was really the standout player during this song. His drums were great.
That's my main complaint too, but I'm putting that 100% down to the audio quality.

Does anyone else think the drill sergeant will be used throughout the album?
Wouldn't make a great deal of sense given how the album is supposed to evolve thematically.
-
Damn! Guys really pulled a song to show how toxic the community and fanbase are!
- Drones(Psycho only so far obv): Ehrmagherd Royal Blood cover ehrmagherd Radioheed! Muus suks, they are sheet!
- 2nd Law: Ehrmagherd pop shit and wubstep, suuuucks
- Resistance: Ehrmagherd, boring pop shet with one gud soong
I thought Muse has one of the most intellectual fanbases. Doesn't seem so.
This is actually the first mention of Radiohead (not as an obvious in-joke) that I've seen today, so kudos on that.

I hope he does something wild during the bridge live, seems like the perfect place.

The alternative stations in my area play RATM and Muse regularly. I don't really hear Muse on mainstream pop stations here.
I do - or, at least, did. Last I hasn't heard them for ages on the local pop station.
-
would love to know which mainstream radio stations are playing killing in the name too. stations specifically tailored for that sort of music? sure. but that's not where muse songs are played and that's not the audience muse has in mind.
-
By the way how is this offensive for radio? lol
what
-
Agree with the people saying the lyrics are terribad, but also agree that given that this is Muse, it doesn't matter.
-
Personally the albums have tended more towards the too-long rather than too-short, so 10 songs is a decent length IMO - assuming that most of them are good.
-
I at least hope the font for the album title (and the huge logo) won't appear on the official artwork, it's hideous
the size is a bit much, but what's wrong with the font? fits the art style well imo.

Wikipedia says so, sorry.
oh wow, so they do. that's... interesting
edit: i can kiiiiiiinda sorta vaguely hear where someone might have got that from but it's still a bit of a long bow to be drawing. the influences are there, but the song itself isn't.

Dubstep/Electronica the first; R'n'B and synthpop the second.
Whatever genre Follow Me falls under, dubstep is most definitely not one of them.
-
Yeah kinda forgot to think about that as i was writing that post lol, A youtube upload of that tomorrow would be fucking awesome fingers crossed, maybe it'll be like Psycho is the first song we hear from the Cd but the first radio single will be something different, sort of like Survival/Madness from last time around, atleast im pretty sure thats how that went last time
Why would they go to the trouble to promote and release a specific song then not have that as their first radio single?
-
Oh really, was not aware of this. Thought it was a Rage riff for some reason.
Sounds awesome anyway...
i actually thought this too for ages - that's how old it is. there's a clip from 99 with it floating around.
-
That riff is lifted from SS at Wembley right?
it's much, much older than that
-
Tbh I don't understand the point of music radio in 2015.
it can be handy to give up-and-coming local bands a good "guaranteed" platform if the radio station has a good reputation in that regard - triple j in australia is a pretty good example of that.
-
All solos are scales.
clearly failing to account for the inevitable atonal/microtonal two minute guitar "solo"
-
poe's law getting a serious workout at the moment
Or maybe it's just similar to some GY!BE strings.my first suspicions are that this is it - it's tonally/structurally similar to classical ideas, but there isn't any specific piece it's quoting
-
It would have been a sarcastic response if Con101 had posted something like "How can they/dare they post such reviews of Muse?". But as explained a few pages back, that was not his question. So it was not a proper sarcastic response, heck, it did not even respond to the question.
thanks for the english language lesson, it's greatly appreciated.
(really though i am genuinely impressed at how patronising you managed to make this sound.)
-
perhaps sarcasm is a language that needs to be learned but i had no problems at all getting the gist behind "yeah omg how dare they"

Kinda wish they had done a bit more with the plucked guitar strings, that bit of the song is really neat.
