  1. Sounds cool. I've used a fair few String plugins with varying results; never got anything sounding as warm and natural as recording the real thing but definitely not bad. Check out NI 'Session Strings'. Really good for more contemporary and pop stuff rather than classical and it has some really cool soul/Motown style sounds that could work really well with this sort of thing.

Cheers. I'll give it a look. I think if i can get something kinda orchestral and then put a sort of subtle vibrato effect on it to make it sound like an old slightly-warped record, I'd be happy with that.

Possibly a little piano thrown in for good measure?

  2. So, I just finished my finals a few days ago, and this kinda feels like the kind of track I should be making right now. Something along the lines of Groove Armada's By The River, but with Audrey Hepburn.

Idk, I think it needs a good string bit to it. I'd love to know how to use something like one of the NI String plugins, but I wouldn't know which is the best one to go for, or if there's a better string plugin.

  3. metric was more difficult for me to learn, but then again, i am americaish and drive on the retarded side of the road

    fixed.

Yeah I never really understood the whole thing about balancing cabs with certain amp heads. It confuses me how a 4x12 can sound shit with a 100W amp head, but then sounds tasty with a little 1/4W amp head.

maybe if it was explained in metric.

  4. Cupboard? :stunned:

"closet" to you lot. Probably have to measure the size of it in foreignheight or sommet. "Yeah it's 11 and 7/8's inches to the back of the 12th century on this one."

here's an accurate graph to help you understand:

On more relevant news, jaeaaems, that amp is a nice find. Have you tried it with any of your other amp heads?

  5. Hey chapps and chappettes,

I'm looking for something that unfortunately, 7dayshop is sold out of. They used to stock nikon macro tubes that were under £10, and shipping was about £4 to d'Ireland. I got a bunch of filters etc from them just before christmas, and they're awesome. Now, I want those macro tubes, but all the american sites, although the tubes are much the same price (~$14), shipping is like $60, which is bullshit imo.

SO, does anyone know of/can suggest a non-ebay shop in the UK or Europe, that is just as good as 7dayshop?

  6. nah was just being hipster. So far it's very impressive. I need to sit down later after work and go through things like my midi mappings etc, but so far, I'm very impressed. I'm going to pick up a little 20 euro wireless keyboard in work too, just for convenience. Had a go of the Kaoss Quad while i was in the shop. They're not that bad really. I could see myself considering one in the future.
