  1. i had a go of some of the mooer stuff in xmusic a while back. The thing I've found with those cheaper brands is that they can be hit and miss from one pedal to the next. That being said, Mooer seem to have waaaay more good pedals than bad ones. I've my eye on a few of their things and I wouldn't be disappointed by them. Best bet is to look at the reviews, but as far as cheaper pedals go, they seem to be considerably better than most. my €0.02

  2. Yeah I got some bleed from the stencils cos I had the feed level a bit too high on the printer. Still, not too bad, the bleed is kinda nice. The guy I built it for said "it makes it look more authentic." He's planning on gigging with it early in May. Awesome!

  3. Looks great! From my experience of stenciling the 27//54, I think the stencils I made would probably only work for the larger text, like animated and bitmap. Not sure if that would be of any use to you.

  4. Flogging Molly, Katzenjammer and Shantel are high on my photography list though :)

Yeah any of the more genuine DJs on that list who actually give a shit about more than screaming drug infested tweens with #SWAG on their t-shirts is going to be worth getting your lens out for.

In other news, this happened today.

I'm not entirely sure about it. I like the way it bleeds a little, but I think it looks more on the shit side than the good side. I dunno. Its not unlike what I was expecting but Im not sure what to make of the result.

  5. Yeah I'm sticking with padboard for now. Although because I'm now stuck with dpdt switches, I have to revise the board for two millennium bypass controls. I'm not sure about led options on this. Its very tight so its either squeeze them in beside the switches or under the vent so the tube fakeglows when active. Thoughts?

  6. Ugh I'm so far off the pace with getting prototypes made. Although right now I'm fairly pissed off with tayda/Thailand post taking an age to deliver parts. They've been sitting in the uk for like a week now. I bet its their way of being all jealous and bitter about being shit at rugby.

  7. Yeah that's fair enough, it had been playing me up at work all that day so hence my anger towards it, I tend to use AutoCAD a lot for quick 2D drawings where i don't want or need a 3D model. I just don't like it for 3D work I find it very limiting.

Your the second person to recommend using rhino for the bass neck, I guess I might have to learn yet another CAD program, oh well it's all good experience. I long for the day when someone makes a CAD program that is the best at everything :) I'm thinking K&T might need a guitar and kit CAD discussion thread :D

I'm not great at modelling in rhino to be honest, but I use it with grasshopper for projects where we're designing parametric architecture. Its tricky to get your head around, but if you send me a pm on Monday evening, I can send you a link to an amazing set of tutorials on YouTube. I used them and I learned to model in grasshopper in about a week or two.

Lol the case factory emailed me regarding my ... ehh... measurements?.. Made no sense to them, so they'll do it themselves, however I fear the board will become ... large ... XXXL:(

I kinda feel for the factory. Like I said, nothing beats a properly dimensioned drawing.

  8. That looks great and your completely right about sketch up not being great for dimensions, I use sketch up, AutoCAD, Inventor, solid works and catia and not a single one of them can do everything, I always think for buildings and general representation of large systems sketch up is great. Solid works is the best for small 3D parts and AutoCAD is crap at everything

Still need to figure out how best to draw up a short scale bass neck :ninja:

I agree with some of that. AutoCAD is excellent when you use it to its full potential. In the firm I'm with, I end up having to use a lot of different software, depending on the project. So I'll use a combination of AutoCAD, Sketchup (with either lumion or vray for rendering), Rhino with Grasshopper, and I'm just starting on Revit.

For the bass neck, I'd be inclined to suggest rhino, but its not the easiest to learn.
