but i think iv worked out my next project. finally use some of that purpleheart and do a bass for the first time ever
Seriously, you're getting a 90 point infraction for not using NSFW tags.
edit:

play nice.
-
I think this is easily your best work so far hb.
-
you amuse me Martin, but I can't help thinking there's something inconsistent about your statements.
sik burn.
vids or its a soldano.
-
cheddatom, martin, settle down.
-
nice. Looks great anyway. keep up the work.
-
that neck/body connection is porn. no NSFW tags will get you a perma.
awesome work hb. cant wait to see this finished. What spec are you going for in terms of electronics? have you picked out pups etc?
-
that really is stunning hb. keep up the awesome work.
-
partly my fault for not spotting it when it was posted.

NSFW people, just got caught scrolling...aquardly had to explain... ta
just got that. hooglebug i understand that it's art, but you still gotta put a spoiler around it, just in case.
-
that sounds like a nice ladies guitar. I think i'd be going for a light natural finish, with dark inlays all over. 6 string bass with fanned frets and built in marshall echohead.
Hoodle - I'll never have the money so don't get excited, but just as a matter of interest could you do fanny frets?
fixed.
-
yep very fucking cool. I'm thinking about saving up now.
+1. White 24 fret les paul with black bird inlays in the neck and body and a super adjustable bridge. Maybe with an XY pad, just to fit in with the in crowd
yum!
-
i must say hooglebug, i'm ever impressed with the level of accuracy. I can't imagine how many inlays are done with a cnc, and you did all those by eye and hand. well done. Keep up the work.

PICS or it has become a BARNETTits covered in black epoxy theres nothing to see
it's a barnett.
-
that totally looks like it should have a ritter logo somewhere on it!
not that that's in any way a bad thing. I fucking love ritter.

What does F mean? does it have something to do with all the cars having the steering wheels on the wrong side and everything being measured in some random fractions thing?
-
even the tuners look awesome.
One of your best builds so far hb??
-
yet again, more awesome work. looks awesome. closeup pic of the headstock??
-
holy shit. copper control plate looks awesome...
-
holy fuck. looks incredible. that black sig is just so subtle and appropriate.
nice work.

I always liked the inlays on jonsi's guitar when he was with sigur ros:

maybe it's just me, but the slightly bigger body (on the left) makes the neck look unpleasantly thin.
if i was a bassist, buying a bass from you, i'd ask for the one on the right.
out of interest, the horn on the right side of the bass, have you experimented to see what it would look like if there was no horn, and the line was just following the curvature of the body (if that makes any sense?)
edit:
i know it was just a mockup, but scrolling back up, i think that shape is possibly more suited to a bass with a wider neck. the 6 string above is really spot on, but i suspect it would also look great as a 5 string. I think the issue really is that with 4 strings, the neck looks too thin for the body. the body size seems to look better suited to a thicker neck.
