Can you sidechain compress and filter while you any combination of I' date=' ii, IV, V, vi chords?[/quote']
How do I phaser the bass?
Its actually proving to be very enjoyable! I've 3 tracks so far, 2 are good for chords/rhythm practice, and one for lead type stuff!
-
Exactly!
In other news, in an effort to improve both my guitar skills and production skills, I'm making a bunch of sort of backing tracks sampled off old 70s disco funk. So I can daft punk and porter robinson while I weeeeoooooo and bleepbloop.
-
tbh, I prefer the 25% more general, but that's just my 2c. We had some brilliant titles when we were looking at it towards the end of the last one.

Its not a p90!? What is he doing!?
-
Holy shit he's singing into a p90!
What is life!?
-
Holy shit. And also,
J = 10
A = 1
M = 13
E = 5
S = Green
Therefore, james90 + triangle = P90.
James I'd be shitting myself right now if I was you.
-
James, what if life is a p90?
Is life a p90!?
What is this I don't even!?
-
Is this a p90?

Are the strings a p90?

Shit guize. He knows a guy. And there was us thinking we knew nothing cos we tweeted Dom from that band called "the mheuese"

I put a humbucker in it. But I've no neck pickup in it. So the switches I have wired for it are an on/off/on kill switch and a series/parallel switch. I did look at a rotary control, so with a neck p90 it would switch between combinations of the three coils. I'm happy with how it sounds now though.

Something that always grinds my gears
When some famous band/musician uploads a picture of something gear related, and you get some whatever people commenting with fucking obvious statements like "is that a p90" or some other mundane fucking thing trying to draw a reply from the artist so they feel special. If it was some other weird bit of gear then sure, ask, but not for fucking obvious stuff
is that a p90?

I saw that one, with the LED VU Meter at the top? Looks perfect but I can't seem to find any info on how it holds up with guitar...

Question, a lot of the popular guitar compressors only have 2-3 controls, usually something like level, gain, threshold. I've been reading up about compressors cos I'm gonna need one in due course for a specific sound I'm after, but I would ideally need one with the full range of controls, like attack, release, ratio etc. But they all seem very pricey. So does anyone use a compressor with the full compliment of controls or is there a better way?
-
Yeah that's what I'm finding tricky. Like each of them are a bit different, but thats a good thing I guess. They'll all have a tone bypass switch too. Figuring out a price seems to be the toughest part. The parts for them is cheap, but I get the whole aspect of putting a price on the time and effort. Still doesn't make it too easy to put a figure on it. Any ideas of what would be reasonable? Even a bracket?

So, quick question. I'm about 1/2 way through these set of 5 big muff builds. Realistically, how likely is it that i'd be able to sell some/all/any of them?
-
Moved the pickup closer, its now about 7.5mm from the strings. Sounds great! Very nice in parallel. Very clean and I'm loving it through a mxr microamp
-
How far? I've never really measured the pickup distances in my guitars, but I can tell that they vary greatly. Some are pretty far away, some nearly touching the strings.
I'm guessing it's not the same for every pickup either (keeping the intonation in mind too). Are we basically talking two P90s though? because I can get some measurements (in metric of course) of that setup if you want.
Its only one p90 at the bridge. The DC on it is around 12k I think so if you know if any of your pickups are around that, the distances away they are would help. Cheers
-
is it meant to be lower output? and yeah, moving it closer will make it a bit louder, but keep an eye on your intonation as it can mess with that
No it should be much higher output. It is a bit far from the strings as is. I could use a rule of thumb for distance from strings tbh

Starting in a week on Wednesday. Finished in 2 weeks on Wednesday.
Squeaky bum time.
Ah right, that means we're in for some good weather, as is the tradition with the old LC. Best of luck with it anyway!

Hence, fuck Barry's tea.
How's the leaving going? Have you started/finished it yet?
-
which pickup is this again?
The neodymium bridge p90 sized humbucker from calig pickups. For being cheap as fuck, its got good clarity, but not as loud as I hoped. Not bad all the same for the price of it. Ended up wiring it with series/parallel and it sounds great on series. The height needs to be tweaked a bit, but I think moving it closer to the strings will make it a bit louder. Also managed to do something to break one of my 27//54 prototypes. Something went pop.

Are you trying to start the Troubles again?
Well would you rather be associated with Cark bai, or the rest of the country?
edit:
also, my new pickup arrived. Now for fun with rotary switches!

Try Lyons Tea and get back to us.
Fixed.

Is it because of the p90?
