  1. Whispering into a mic with distortion on it? I'm sure dwydav has mentioned that method a few times.
  2. It's very Muse, isn't it? Not bad though, however, your guitar tone seems incredibly thin at points, especially when clean, which detracts from the quality of the entire thing really. How did you record guitar? The track transitions are fine. I like the intro and outro tracks and the drums at the beginning of Authority Issues. What did you think of The Angry Dome, by the way? Also, whilst I'm here, my main band (Studio Tokyo!) is going to be recording a full length album over the next few months, watch this space.
  3. It was such a thrown together recording that we recorded all the vocals at the same time in such a way that they couldn't be mixed afterward (all the instruments were recorded with just ambient mics then kick and snare). Max is the most emoy, and if you saw him you'd agree, haha, it's also mostly him that makes the voices seem Americany...excuses excuses! But yes, definitely constructive, although I find that trying to make your voice not sound American makes you sound like a Dick van Dyke Cockney. Thank you very much for your praise, anyway. I'll get it up on another site and listen to your stuff soon!
  4. Scratched and Scorned is a pretty good song, and probably the most memorable of those three tracks. I like the accuracy of the harmonics, and the bit where one of the harmonics is extended slightly (I think it's before the main riff comes in the first time?). Nothing really stuck out for me in the others. Also, in return, perhaps you can comment on my new band's stuff? The Angry Dome. Zipped Version of the EP.
  5. I thought it was something on the Kaoss Pad too. Failing that I thought it could well be using the kill switch to get the chopping right, but I haven't seen any live videos and apparently this is not the case.
  6. Studio Tokyo! -- .etah My band's EP in 200kbps+ mp3. If you like it enough to buy it you can do so thorugh the shop link on the website. It comes complete with pretentious packaging.
  7. Thanks for your kind words. Please check out my band too: Link (the first four tracks are the EP) The songwriting is good, but the drums are very overbearing. I think for the songs that you're writing the guitar should be big, massive and in your face. The tone is more or less perfect, but you're hearing it from the other side of the wall in which the amp is, except on the last track, where it all hangs together far better, except I would give the bass more influence. Lots of potential, there just needs to be a little bit more work done on cleaning up the mix, in my opinion. EDIT: the noisy bits towards the end of Sawface I like a lot
  8. It's good. The production is nice and the music is very listenable. I like Ernest too, the funk vibe you've got is awesome.
  9. It's good! The production is very accomplished, although the vocals could perhaps do with a little touching up. However, the song itself loses steam a little from when the vocals come in. Though, thinking about that, the long outro would probably work very well in an album context. In other news, my band, Studio Tokyo! has finished its EP. You can listen to it here. Feedback is very muchly appreciated. The EP will be available soon for free download, or CD purchase (for £2) through our website.
  10. A sneak preview of my band's new EP. This is before mixing and before the recording of the acoustic piano, and the reverb dissapeared on the main vocal when I exported this. At any rate, it's not finished, but feedback is grately appreciated. Time Bomb (Extract).
  11. Good stuff there, Haze. I'm trying to form a side project at the moment with ideas along those lines. I hope people are interested near me.
  12. Just got all my solo stuff reuploaded. Constructive feedback appreciated. Mountains - GCSE Coursework. My music teacher described it as "glitchtronica". Roadisdanger. - Ambient peice on an automotive theme. The Shadows Spy Upon Me Like A Billion Photons Upon The Continents - Basically me experimenting with minimalism and similar concepts. Adrenalin - cheesy dance peice. Hey, Be Seedy! - "Joke" song with a sampled speak'n'spell and a cheesy synth loop. Jazz On The Beach - Mr. Scruff inspired brass-led peice. Dark Space - Ambient song about being awestruck. Air (parts i-v) - Probably my most well known song. About air travel. The Spherical EP 1)Chamber Room Rave (Part One) 2)Open Room 3)Dark Return From Calm 4)Chamber Room Rave (Part Two)
  13. I formed a band with two mates whom I've known for over a decade and one of their mates a few weeks back called Studio Tokyo!. We went on a course which basically culminates in a gig at a local venue. We were chosen to be the headlining act of one of the two gigs put on comprised of bands on the course. We played three songs, all original, and then ended with an improvization. You can listen to all of this on our MySpace, the link to which is in my sig. Note: if the sig comes up as squares, not Japanese, you are gay.
  14. Uploaded a new song ("Dark Space") to my MySpace profile. You can listen to it, and three other songs that I don't think I've advertised on these boards before, here.
  15. *bump* I have made a new song. It's a sort of epic electronica thingy and you can download it here Here is the title listing for the parts: i) Grounded ii) Takeoff iii) Flying High iv) Turbulent v) Back On The Ground
