TheHappySpaceman
No performance, and their category wasn't televised. Wow, the Grammys really don't care about rock anymore, do they?

TheHappySpaceman
Replace Grammys with the US and bingo. Hey! I live in the US! If you're going by what's popular in the mainstream, then yes, you could make that argument. Still, there are plenty of good American rock acts. serpentsatellite
You have to admit that rock has declined, as a genre, massively in the US. Not the quality of individual acts. Hell, I live in an area that doesn't have a "rock" station that plays more than like ACDC and Five Finger Death Punch over and over. We just, as a whole, don't have the interest in it that other countries do. That's why they couldn't even muster up enough true rock acts for the Grammy noms. I agree with the first part, though maybe it's just that my town (Charlottesville) is really open-minded and has a lot of rock stations. As for the last part; when we got such great albums this year as Disturbed's Immortalized and Steven Wilson's Hand. Cannot. Erase., it does seem like you might be correct, though to be fair, when have the Grammys ever been an accurate representation of music?
serpentsatellite
You'd have to admit that a band that just won best rock album being unwilling to play a rock setlist at their gigs here is pretty telling, though...
Citizen Erased 01
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e9jAG4fWD8 Matt has the manic energy of a crack addict. But best rock album?

TheHappySpaceman
Same category James Bay could've won... Again, Hand. Cannot. Erase. by Steven Wilson. Great album, critical acclaim all over, but the Grammys didn't nominate it because they were probably too busy fanboying over the Weekend's new single or something.
