By the way, people earlier were talking about possible setlists combos... just imagine: you went to Muse gig hoping to hear CE, Assassin, SS, Handler, you name it. And then you get setlist like this: 1. [JFK] 2. Dead Inside 3. Dig Down 4. Revolt 5. Follow Me 6. Interlude 7. Madness 8. Mercy 9. Uprising for lols 10. Panic Station 11. Big Freeze (live debut yay!!) 12. 1 minute of Fury but the power cuts out 13. Undisclosed Desires 14. Man with a Harmonica 15. Guiding Light

Unsustainable was totally bonkers live, amazing intro followed up by that sweet Supremacy riff.. I'm not a fan od T2L but as Tjet pointed out - the tour itself was awesome. And I got to hear Sunburn live <3

Exactly. Drones, while incredibly cheesy at times, was relatively consistent and had parts which were good or even great. And since Matt said that new album will be diverse - I'm guessing The 2nd Law part 2, this time with gospel, acoustic and probably electronic and guitar riffs as well. In other words - another messy compilation of different songs.

He never said it has a synthwave feel, ya know. As a matter of fact, he said the exact opposite.

My opinion is the ultimate opinion, haven't you realised that already? On a side note - you must love double cheese on pizza. I hate it. Ok, maybe not as much as pineapple on pizza, but still.

Fine, perhaps it was a poor choice of words on my side. It's just that Muse can do much better and I don't understand how can people be happy with what they got. Not because of the style itself (I understand people enjoying Madness, UD or Dead Inside) but because of the blandness, repetitiveness and overall mediocrity.

People genuinely liking Dig Down must have very low expectations of Muse. I find it even hard to accept Dig Down as a guilty pleasure song - there is no originality, no heart (or soul for that matter..). Nothing.

You're right, some artists become so full of themsevles that they end up putting out these monstrosities like Dig Down or new Linkin Park stuff. Some fans will just like anything, but I agree - some might genuinely like it. I feel sorry for them.

The sooner they disband the better. From 2nd Law on, with a few exceptions, they just shit on their own legacy. No wonder people tend to smirk when I mention being a Muse fan. Dig Down is just awful. How could they listen to the song and think "Yeah, that sounds good, we're pretty happy with what we achieved here". Now - I love electronic, I like pop and I don't hate gospel (Brandon Flowers did it right with his "Still Want You") but this sounds uninspired, cheesy and boring. What the hell, Muse?

We already suspected that it might be similar to Madness. I just hope it's faster and more rockey, like a mix of Madness ans SBH. Edit. Also, is this guy a journalist or something? If so, some other journalists might have heard it too... so maybe someone will leak it

I know it's just one day left, but I can't wait any longer. I need to hear new Muse, even if it ends up being terrible. I hope for a leak today..

Muse's snapchat profile posted Matt playing on his acoustic. Just a few seconds. Edit. Here's link

That fake Supremacy leak was awesome. Better than pretty much entire 2nd Law

Then you have "Revolt", "Resistance" and "Madness", titles suggested a more serious rock songs and they ended up being cheeseburgers. Nonetheless - I don't have high hopes when it comes to anything concerning new-Muse.

Muse know just as well how to kill hype. Remember when first songs from 'back to roots' Drones were mediocore and banal 'Psycho' and totally un-back-to-roots 'Dead Inside'? On the other hand - thanks to not knowing The Handler prior to album release, it made the album sound better at first listen than it actually was.

I always thought that Micro Cuts, with its sort of menacing guitar, would fit as an intro song for some neo-noir move/show/game.

Hm, Muse recorded 3 songs so far - 1 heavy and 2 not so much. I'm guessing that the one that they're teasing is the latter. And it makes me wonder - what is 'heavy' by Matt's terms?

Is it? I think both Apocalypse Please and Take a Bow make a better introduction giving us the general vibe of the album than DI does.

I absolutely love original Blade Runner and am big fan of Vangelis - Muse of course wouldn't fit. I was thinking more of a promo song, not actually used in the movie. I think it kind of makes sense, because of the timing; Muse teaser dropped just a day after the BR2049 trailer, Jared is starring in it and BTS suggests 80s vibe. Of course I might be reading too much into it.

Given that Revolt is a terrible song, a spiritual sequel would be... I don't even know

Reddit predicts that it might be a song for the new Bladerunner film, which makes sense and in my opinion is fine. But they also wonder whether it is a colab with 30STM - GOD I HOPE NOT.

Definitely OoS-Abso with the bsides (and parts from Drones which accompany that era well. Basically The Handler and Reapers). After a long break from Muse, I find it hard to get back into most of the TR and onward era tracks.
-
Butterflies And Hurricanes. It's always been one of better tracks from Abso but since my return to Muse, it's slowly becoming my top10 track. I don't know why really, but the piano part leaves me in awe more than it ever did before.. maybe I just really missed Muse?
