  1. You guys always complain about how he makes threads that you find useless, but then you bump it by posting in it...
  2. After going back and listening to some pre-showbiz stuff, I find this song really sounds like that era. I could totally image Matt's whiny Muse EP style vocals on Defector
  3. looks like the video is gone. Caught it right before it was taken down.
  4. Soaked... I'd never really liked it before, but I gave it a listen today and it's pretty great. I find the Lambert one too popish whereas the muse one is just nice and slow, it's really a pity it never made it onto and album or even single as a B-side.
  5. On the topic of potential set lists, I was kinda hoping that, seeing as this is supposed to be an actual concept album that live they'd play straight trough Dead Inside to Aftermath and have the whole story be presented on stage then play Madness, TIRO, KoC etc...as well as The Globalist and Drones (if they are in fact not part of the story) Maybe it's not probable, but my wishful thinking nonetheless.
  6. I actually find this whole album sounds like it's going to be pure fan service. Psycho is fan service: it's a classic muse riff played one too many times, The Globalist is fan service: CE is a total fan favorite and creating a sequel is probably motivated by that fact and the general idea of "going back to basics is kinda fan service too considering how fans reacted to the last two albums. I'd rather they write for the love of it which is what I found on the last two, self produced, albums. Anyways, I do regardless see what you mean about prog rock... it's just a pity...
  7. I would actually be so happy if muse sat down, tried real hard and made like 5 amazing songs that flow nicely and with at least two that reaches the 8 minute mark (minimally) and released that instead of random mixbags in terms of quality and style.
  8. I'm getting the sense that the main story if the album spans from Psycho until Aftermath with Dead Inside acting as a prologue of sorts with a dual function of introducing the story and being a recap of T2L and TR adn then The Globalist is it's own story that still fits thematically and then Drones is... I don't know... a conclusion of some sort?
  9. OOS is not necessarily the most consistent of the albums (I'd say that title goes to Absolution) the second half is more experimental than the first, but it definitely has the best flow each track flows perfectly into the next.
  10. Yeah, I agree with the psychopath thing, I mean it could be phrased more creatively than "On the outside I'm the greatest guy Now I'm Dead Inside!" But at least it makes sense
  11. Hey there, me the lurker again... i find this song sounds like Undisclosed desires with the drumming power of Panic Station with the Madness climax just stuck on. It doesn't build the same way as Madness, i think it'd be better with a breakdown like UD's
  12. Hey everyone, I've been lurking here a while, made an account to give my onion on this song. I don't love it, but i don't think it's trash. It's a good single (better than most of T2L) and while it's not an Apocalypse Please/Take a Bow tier opener it's a cool one 'cos it's like a reminder of the last two albums before we get into the riffy rock of Psycho and Reapers, kind of like the piano part of Newborn is reminiscent of Showbiz
