    I've hear similar sentiments from them. Guess I've always just interpreted that that as the desire to write something more intrinsic to themselves, rather than the textbook definition of Muse.

    I think there was some synth arpeggio going on, but that's hardly unique to Bliss. Damn, I really love that bass line.

    Muse were never going to make an album where every song was dark, though. Personally I'd rather the songs be good. I'm liking this much more than Dead Inside, which is comparatively a lot darker.

    Wow. Thoroughly enjoyed that. What I'd want from Muse for a pop song. The chorus is huge. Absolutely adore the bass line. Totally get the Starlight comparison, but I think this is a lot better.

    To be fair, the synth in Dead Inside is quite sparse, and from what we've heard of Mercy it's still very guitar driven.

    I honestly think Reapers flows pretty well. The solo feels a little shoehorned in.

    Isn't saying prog songs are supposed to flow well a bit redundant? I mean, aren't most songs meant to flow well regardless of genre?
