  1. That's what I don't get, they got to where they are now by playing music that blew people away. Now that they're doing the whole arena thing, it feels like the only times they put in a real effort to blow a crowd away with the music is a gig like Download. It's really quite ridiculous that they'll play that kind of gig to a crowd which got press for not wanting them there, meanwhile I'd get accused of being on some serious drugs for expecting that sort of thing at their own shows. I asked a couple of friends from my hometown what they thought of the show and all they could talk about was the stage design (which really is quite spectacular). Nothing was said about the music. One of my friends compared it to a Vegas show, and I'll leave it at that. Ten years ago, it would have been the opposite. If I had to choose, I'd take the music over the visuals, but why can't there be both?
  2. If they're not "feeling the love" from the hardcore fans that drive 5-10 hours from show to show (longer and further than mostly anyone outside of the US doing the same thing), that's their problem. I don't care how shit the crowds are, they always have the people who waited 15-20 hours to be on that barrier. They have the ability to play longer, heavier sets, they have the ability to risk alienating the casuals and take the band in a new direction (which I don't think would go all that poorly to be honest). Generally speaking, they're already playing 5,000-10,000 and if those numbers fall any further, back to the large theaters.
  3. They're definitely fun to watch, I was entertained each of the six times I saw them open this tour, and that's saying something.

  5. As with their entire set, the closer should be rotated at this point. There's absolutely no reason to close every show with KoC when they have tons of closing material (a lot of which isn't being played at all) At this point, they really should have around 40 songs ready to play at any given time, and I'd even consider that relatively low. Accounting for rotations, we're looking at like 24 songs (which should be the bare minimum standard for their arena gigs)
  6. Glasto 2004 people didn't want them there as headliners since they "weren't ready" Wembley 2007 people said they "weren't ready" as a stadium rock act Download 2015 people didn't want them there period. LA Rising 2011 is the odd one out, but they blew people away with visuals and stadium-tier spectacle I'm seeing a trend here and it's people underestimating the band and the band blowing naysayers away, so whenever they do another metal festival and people don't want them there, I'm going because it's guaranteed a better set than their standalone shows, which is really fucked up.
  7. Can these kinds of questions stop? I'm quite sure that every song they've ever put out will return in some form or another in the next 30 years before they stop touring. If you're going to ask, ask about the "near future". That's the only way such a question will be useful to anyone. As long as they see it, I don't really care, but it'd be nice to acknowledge the negativity considering the board has a reputation for that.
  8. I don't have any questions left, but I'd really be interested to see whether they honestly believe the "Heavy enough... to make the hard rock crowd happy" line in their Drones Tour trailer.
  9. If they were to do this, I'd imagine it'd be the completely unedited audio and video being used for the screens. Can't imagine they'd have the time or care to edit certain material out while on tour (assuming they'd be uploaded that night or the following day). I wish they'd just add "please put your phones away and enjoy yourselves" to the "no flash on your cameras" PSA for the floor of the arena tours.
  10. I love this comment MUSE SUCKS BRING BACK REAL MUSIC LIKE FROM BACK IN THE DAY BLINK 182 HOLE BUCKCHERRY MOSTLY BUCKCHERRY
  11. I'm surprised no one has asked about playing the damn super bowl, because you know according to the subreddit, that's definitely their audience. Actually, I take that back in light of remembering this.
  12. I'm fine with experimentation, as long as they're willing to risk alienating their current audience (the ones that aren't listening to the albums), particularly live, though I'd argue playing a Download/Psycho Tour/Zepp set to a generic crowd would get a really great response, because that's how they got to the arenas, blowing people away by playing obnoxious crazy rock. That's the big issue I have with the Drones Tour, a tour for a concept album about a heartbroken bastard who joins a powerful military force, gets indoctrinated to kill on command, breaks free from control, defects, revolts and finally breaks free. In the alternative ending, destroys the world. Then when you go to the show, it's hit after hit after hit, playing it completely safe so that way the people who came to see Madness don't walk out disappointed. It's jarring to see Apocalypse Please into Prelude into Starlight. At some point they're going to have to choose whether they want to be in the Coldplay/top 40 radio category when it comes to their live performances, because the material doesn't reflect the live aspect, and given the unwillingness to play longer shows where you can afford to play all your hits + the "deep cuts", the "we're Coldplay, but we're also able to rock out like a geekier Rage Against the Machine" routine is getting really, really old.
  13. Hey uh guys, they're not going to bash audiences so don't even try.
  14. i'm just having a laugh, I wonder how crazy the questions are going to get since you can only ask a question once. The ones about the tour were all taken after the first two or three pages.
  15. "If you could swap bodies with a female artist who would it be?" Literally who fucking gives a fuck This is how people are going to use a platform given to them?
  16. I'd be very surprised if they weren't reading the posts. Depending on how this all came about, I find the timing of this very convenient.
  17. Do you sometimes sit together and watch your old performances? I'd like to hear this one. I mean, I can't imagine them watching those kinds of gigs and playing these types of sets, but maybe I'm wrong.
  18. "Will___ be played ever again?" I am quite certain that pretty much everything will return at some point. It's embarrassing to see how people are using their opportunity to speak directly to the band. I think it's removed but "is belldom real?" Abslolutely cringe inducing.
  19. Yep "Screenager is a modern teenager being brought up by the screen who develops a distorted image of their body because of pictures in magazines and because technology is rejecting the physical bodies we live in. It's also a bit about people who cut themselves because I used to have friends who did it and I didn't know why. I tried to grasp that it's needing something quite brutal to remind you what your body's about"
