Now can we please focus on the kind of speculation that's important!
What notes will Matt hit? Which song will have the highest/lowest notes and how high/low will they be?
I bet Algorithm will lack in high chest but have some falsetto around D5/Eb5.
Propaganda won't have anything interesting range wise except for low backing vocals which people will argue back and forth about who they belong to.
The Void will have belted G#4s.

Yeah the guy was only going by memory when someone asked iirc.
I'm not expecting great things from this album. I think the two reviews so far have both given it 3/5. I'd be happy with a 3/5 album.
-
I got that but I was the one who brought it up, and I did in fact include Drones songs so.Most of those tracks are from Drones, in fact. I was rather talking about ST ones. Also we haven't even had a 4 minute song from ST yet.
-
Well I would say it goes for Thought Contagion, Pressure, Psycho, The Globalist, Aftermath and even The Handler to an extent. I know there are plenty more that are over 4 minutes, please don't take me literally.
-
And we should all be thankful because they can't even seem to write 4 minute tracks atm without getting repetitive.
-
Nope. What we've got is already on youtube.
-
I wouldn't mind.

"Down With This Sort of Thing"

Next album: "Take Violent Action (Against an Established Government or Ruler)"

The original is a masterpiece. Matt’s cover is impressive, but with terrible lyrics.

When fan votes happen are people clamoring for Dead Star or the pop songs?
And I’m not saying there weren’t some that got missed or were way off for sure or had hype and fell flat but the examples I gave were what a lot off people expected to be the “classic” rock driven Muse and they weren’t wrong.
It’s not hard to be right every now and again when you expect every cool-sounding title to be great though.especially not if you’re allowed to be wrong most of the time.
-
I remember people being really hyped for the title Explorers, expecting some dreamy space epic. People also had pretty high hopes for songs like Mercy and Revolt. Oh and Madness for christ’s sake.
-
They are confirmed fans. That Algorithm Squad insta account which some only you think Matt is behind seems to be teasing the whole blood drive thing.Guess we’ll find out today if it actually is Matt that runs it.
-
Could be, I feel like there’d be at least some social media teasing if it were a song of any kind though. Whereas with gigs, it’s actually pretty common for them to just drop them out of nowhere.
Doubt they would tease with gig dates to the point where they actually put it in a video, but hey, they've done stranger things!

It's gonna be an auction for all of Matt's guitars.
-
Well what he's saying is that it won't be riff based on the same level as ANY previous Muse album. Which also isn't that hard to believe.
-
Wouldn't call them guitar lines just because he uses the guitar though. The Dark Side is literally just individual chords that he hits with several seconds inbetween them. And just to clarify, this is just the author's perception of things. I can definitely agree that while songs like Something Human and The Dark Side have guitar, they don't feel very guitar-y. Like, it's definitely not the lead instruments unlike the majority of Muse's output. The author says that it's their most unguitary album yet, not that the album doesn't have guitar.TDS has guitar in the intro, choruses and the breaks between chorus and verse alongside the solo. Is it complex? No. Is it there? Yes.Same with Dig Down. Sustainer in the first verse, arpeggios second verse, solo and then the out-chorus thing. Not complicated sure but still there and still decently prominent.

There is not. You can check here: https://online.gema.de/werke/search.faces?lang=en

Is it possible that 'pro pro pro propaganda' line is the chorus?
Of course.

He could probably improve parts of his singing, but age catches up to you in the end.Do you think he could turn his vocals around if he put himself through vocal training similar to the stuff he did before T2L?Holy balls. I've never heard him go for a B4 before!Regarding Matt's voice and a vocal teacher...I'm by no means as knowledgable as Tjet is on the matter but I reckon once you begin your decline isn't it unlikely you'll be able to return to (or even get close to) your 'peak'. The thing that bothered was me around the Drones tour was how Matt started to change the way he phrased (? not sure on the correct term) his singing, taking odd pauses as if he's trying to catch his breath. Seems like he does it on almost every song now.
-
I would say that despite deterioration, Matt’s chest voice today can still handle more than it could in 2008. I definitely think he could do Invincible half a step down.
-
I remember an old video of the same performance just having a pink background, but no actual video of the performance that I can remember.

In case someone hasn't heard this (It's not Hullabaloo, regardless of what the thumbnail says). Listen to the end!

Invincible half a step down is so weird. Reading 2006 is where it's at.
MK Ultra is one of the few Muse songs that just don't...click with me. Like, there are plenty of bad ones, but MK Ultra is just kinda there and I don't care about it at all. Same with Futurism.
