I think your first comment on Revolt was about how it reminded you of Showbiz. Nothing but positivity from there on out.
EDIT: Just checked and yeah, I think this was your first comment: http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?p=10902046#post10902046

Or it's album version vs acoustic version.Yeah, lots of interesting stuff on there! Matt's company is GLOBALIST INDUSTRIES, set up in 2016 or sometehing. Also "alternative titles" of Propaganda is PROPAGANDA (ALBUM VERSION) meaning that there's gonna probably be a single! -
Honestly every damn movie with a big cast is likely to have a similar poster. It's the way they've been done for decades, and any likeness to Ready Player One is pretty obvious coincidences for any Muse fan. The shades? Matt has been wearing those for ages. The colour scheme? Obviously taken from the whole synthwave style.

Well then if I'm confused oh no.
I hear the guitar just playing single downstroke chords at 1:00 for example.
-
I definitely hear a guitar. You'd know better than me though.
-
Now we're just doing this on purpose.
Yeah that's what I thought too.
But fine, I'll add Glorious.
-
The track is decent (at best), but who's producing this album? It all sounds so dull, lifeless and safe.
-
Aw shit, haven't seen you in years.Well, thankfully they didn't name the song "Break Me Out". -
People underrate Drones so much smh
Honestly I am here because of how much I've loved Muse's output in the past and how much I still love at least a few songs every album, but I could never rate an album where I have no interest in...6 of its 10 songs.

You can't have a best Monty performance without Matt on piano!(Shepherds Bush Version)(Yes, this is the best version)(Goes into TIRO)(Goes into Resistance)Best I've got so far. Will try expand on it later.
EDIT: Added an alt for Munich Jam and a new Adagio riff. Sad thing is this list will get lost among many posts over time.

I’m surprised nobody has compared it to Dead Inside yet.
Do you wanna be the first?

So what do we think the two "Alternate Reality Version" are? I'm guessing that means almost opposite, or just a total reworking. I predict the alternate reality Dark Side will be really heavy. Or maybe they will go the Hyper Chrondriac Music route.
Matt talked about that in an interview a month or so ago, saying it's basically directions that the songs could have taken but they eventually decided against. When they (as we as most other artists) write and record, there are always versions that are scrapped in the end, because a decision has to be made. This could mean a lot of things though. Arcane Roots are actually doing the exact same thing right now.
Just to clarify, The Dark Side was never said to be heavy. That's just a conclusion a lot of fans drew because Matt talked about a heavy song and The Dark Side had a "heavy" title.I forget, what was the little bit of info we got about Algorithm? When I saw the tweet about a map-ish-ish song I thought that was referring to Algorithm or Blockades or something, but now a few people here suspect The Dark Side is what he was referring to. Which I thought the The Dark Side was supposed to be a heavy track (though maybe he just said "dark"). So I feel like I'm all mixed up now lolAlso I would love if there was a song on here that was heavy on synths (or sounds similar to in The Dark Side), but with some heavy, crunchy riffs. And a little less straightforward.

I will keep updating it whenever I find a new comparison.

Can someone compile a list of songs that The Dark Side sounds like?
Comparisons made to Muse songs:
Assassin, Bliss, Darkshines, Dead Inside, Easily, Endlessly, Eternally Missed, Exogenesis: Overture, Fillip, Forced In, Glorious, Madness, Map of the Problematique, Micro Cuts, Panic Station, Plug In Baby, Popcorn (cover I know), Showbiz, Space Dementia, Take A Bow, The Gallery
Comparisons made to other songs/artists/stuff:
Night Ranger - Sister Christian, Gorillaz - Stylo, Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill, CHVRCHES - Lies, Pink Floyd, Ultravox, La Roux, Tron, Retrowave/Synthwave.
Comparisons made to Muse ALBUMS:
Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Black Holes & Revelations, The Resistance, The 2nd Law.
Other:
"Sounds almost Indian"

When?Is that a fucking A5 at the start? -
Even then though I felt it was so low in the mix that it barely has any impact. The thing is, I feel like Dom probably would love to do more intricate stuff sometimes but I have a feeling Matt sort of holds him back sometimes, thinking it doesn't sound as good. I don't know that, I just get that idea from watching the "making of" videos, and just knowing Dom likes drumming the complex songs the best.
As a drummer myself, it's just disappointing because it feels like he isn't as important of a member anymore. I know he does handle a lot of the synth sounds and stuff like that behind the scenes though. But just in terms of drumming. It used to feel like all 3 of them were always making a huge impact in any given song.
I feel the complete opposite. Dom, in interviews, has given me the impression that he enjoys playing the simpler stuff. And we must have heard different things because I've heard he prefers to avoid stuff like Assassin because of how tired he gets.
LOLWUTWell it's a lot more accurate than Micro Cuts and some of the other comparisons being made!

Not bad.

I’d say it’s clear they went for the modern synthwave style rather than actual 80s movies. The colour scheme is a huge hint. But if you just mean using drawn faces for the cover, yeah I guess.
Also 2Would this be the first time the band members have appeared on the cover of a studio album?
Well there are only seven covers to check.
-
80s film covers didn’t look anything like that though. That could easily be the VHS cover for any 80s sci-fi movie! -
Today.when are you updating your hayley gif -
Those lyrics are truly terrible imo. Among Matt’s worst.
-
They have songs called Uprising and Resistance. Propaganda sounds right up their alley.
-
Yeah I don’t think there’s any artist out there who enjoys the wait between finishing an album and releasing it.
-
Pressure.Isn't this the one Matt said "changes riff like every 10 seconds" or was that Pressure?

More like it’s a video that the band has minimum involvement in so they just get Matt to film some green screen shots in a car. It’s supposed to be some sort of story as well.
