what makes it so tough to work with?
-
i recon this'll be locked by the time i get back from the shops.
-
what pickups are those!?
-
i see... yeah i'm trying to decide on the pickup for my build in september (it's only going to be 1 pickup at the bridge)... I'm torn between a bare knuckle nailbomb or a q-tuner Super High Z ((See here) They're both high output. The BN is 16k, and the Q-Tuner is 16.5k. Somehow, i'm leaning towards the q-tuner. Partially for something different, partly cos they just look so animal, and partly, cos the sound is just so damn clear on them...
-
that could be the name i was looking for
what are the atlas' like?
-
you can suggest nothing.
andrew didn't you do one of those a while ago with trisonics in it??
-
that black limba looks like it's a vintage guitar before it's even made lol! but in a good way like!
is it more expensive than say, alder or poplar?
-
looks good so far. what wood is that?
-
that's sik burn right there toff. nice work!
-
lol! it would sound better than muse if the singer wasn't covered in fail, and if it was generally better. good effort with the guitar/druming though.
lock/merge nao?
there's a bunch of threads that need supermerging asap.
-
looking mighty good!!
-
that headstock is also awesome. let's not neglect it's loveliness!!!
seriously though, that's really coming along nicely. That's shit about your pc, but these things happen. a friend of mine doing his repeats lost everything too, but fortunately, like you, he had the important stuff on an external hard drive.
cant wait to see the finish on it
-
Good stuff, it's all about the rasp and the file
Â
speaking of which, i'm due to get the body of my first custom in august. IF i get it, and i decide to put in a contour at the heel, could i technically just sand it to fuck? (BY HAND!) i know it would take ages, but at least i can be slow and take my time about it.
-
looks great hooglebug.
-
that sounds like it'll be such a nice finish.
-
lol again you ask! cant wait to see huh? a very light black tint and then black burst
so basically, it'll be like a black tint in the middle fading to full black around the edges? Am i correct in guessing that in the middle, you'll still be able to see the grain?
-
that looks really great with the matching chrome bridge. what finish did you say you were going to put on it??
-
lol! i dodn't mean anything like plagiarism or anything. It's more like, your guitars remind me of them. but thats not a bad thing! i like them both.
i still cant see the repair by the way...
-
i definitely can't spot it... wanna point it out??
It looks great hooglebug. That wood is seriously so cool. I'd love to make a guitar out of it. It's so cool the way it looks aged before you even start working on it.
There's a strange resemblance between your guitars and ritter basses. Do you know them??
-
much better??
-
yes they are. took them off the first guitar i ever made which never gets played so i thought id put them to good use
i just looked up about trisonics. are they just like 3 single coils except better???
-
ill wait for the surprise. That wood would look great for a vintage project though. I came across a vintage tiesco control plate, fully wired, in a local add lately. That plus some other nice vinatgey parts, and you could have a nice guitar...
-
they're some fine ass pickups hooglebug. And that wood is so cool. It has that sort of vintagy-aged look. Maybe a nice natural finish of some sort???
-
yup it really is.
you can get red mirror. other than that...um....paisley? hehe
i like the sound of red mirror...... a link would be great. not to worry if you dont have one..
paisley? you mean a pickguard with this on it?

i'd say that gets on particularly well with cutting tools too.
