It's probably just been cut so the riff starts immediately and the feedback plays in the background of Drill Sergeant. Which I assumed was always a given.
Yeah, this is what I thought.

If Matt lurks the boards during release, I feel sorry for the guy.

Our planet suffered 5 big extinction events (known to date). So is not that rare. But yeah, a lot of teens and post teens can relate more with lyrics in this style:
We are currently in the sixth one.

Is this the new 'rock version of Follow Me'?

I believe strings and a hammond organ feature on Psycho...
Just like on Origin of Symmetry.

Mind that the Map version I have in the screenshot is the instrumental, since I don't have a normal mp3/FLAC (just a vinyl rip of it)
Odd, it looked worse when I opened it. Still, it could have been better.

So, are Dead Inside and Psycho mastered so loudly because they're singles? I opened them both in Audacity for a cover and Psycho is in a lot of parts as worse as MotP.

Muse videos since BH&R have been pure cheese. I mean come on, "Knights of Cydonia" anyone?
Knights of Cydonia is the awesome kind of cheese though.

wow, haven't been in here for three years or something, since T2L was released
I think the whole "oh that song reminds me of these song(s)" has become sligthly ridiculous - to the point that people don't enjoy songs anymore, they're just breaking them down to little pieces and try to trace the influences of each piece. I mean I'm pretty sure many great twelve-bar blues songs sound (very) similar - what does it matter? who cares?
anyway, from what i've heard, the globalist intro's chord progression and whistling melody are different from the l'arena one, the orcehstration, however, is almost identical. imo it sounds similar enough to be an (obvious and intentional) "homage" but not too similar to be a "blatant rip-off".
ok, enough from me now, I'll probably shut up for the next three years anyway, until album no.8 is due
I agree with this, it's becoming rather annoying.

matt's arms look even skinnier than fifteen years ago wtf
Can't wait for him to go full Trent Reznor in a couple of years.

The only problems I have with this track now is the "DEAD INSIDE" at the start of the song and the fact it's the opener. I feel as if [Drill Sergeant] into Psycho makes a better opener (musically, not lyrically.)
Also a way to destroy your ears if the volume is set too high and the first thing you hear is 10 Bellamy's singing Dead Inside.
-
By the way, please explain why my example was ridiculous and offensive. I thought it was sound. In no way was I condoning rape, and I acknowledged the difference in severity of the two acts, but I think my example clearly proved my point. You may want to take some time to re-read it and understand where I'm coming from instead of just writing it off at first glance.
Good job in making the forum a better place.
Use PM's or just shut up.

Well, DEAD SONG and deadl inside are 2 completely different titles, so he isn't contradicting himself.

Muse aren't deliberately going to leak 11 minutes from a making of DVD they're selling.
-
Watched it once, not going to watch it again. Only thing I remember is Matt whistling, chucking chairs and being a cymbal, so I'm not spoiled when I hear everything in full.
-
Argh I don't want to spoil myself... What is it exactly ? ~1min preview of each song?
Part? of the making of DVD.
-
What do you mean with 'off'?
Some parts sounded considerably louder in my headphones than others.
-
Sounds like the sound mixing is still off, so maybe it's probably only the montage that is finished in that leak.
-
The piano ballad sounds like Explorers done right.
Quite a few stuff on this album seems like something done right that they tried in the past, especially on the last 2 albums.
-
Mutt's certainly got them under control.
"31 takes, Mutt. I've never done 31 takes for anyone."
I'm really glad they went with a producer again.
-
Hype increased. Sounds like a lot of great stuff on there, and material that feels like it flows well.
-
What the hell, is that from the DVD or something?
-
I can't believe how much this song has grown on me. I even love the middle section, and the bass/drum groove throughout the song is so good. And unlike Madness, this wouldn't feel out of place in a heavy setlist.
It would've been great if the Dead Inside wasn't at the beginning though, just let that bass and drum open the album.

Good stuff, fellow Belgian

Yes, which means Drill Sergeant has that strum and feedback, making Psycho's length shorter?
They're not going to recut the song at this stage. There is no cutting extra repetitions of the riff without changing how the song is constructed.
