  1. Each released song has been progressively better for me, and I really like Defector. It's such a fun, uplifting pop song with enough rock in it for me to enjoy it wholeheartedly, even if there's still a weird Take That-ish tinge to it somehow, which I'm now attributing simply to the song being so upbeat. The Queeny vocals in places are much more measured than their experiments with them on The Resistance, it better suits their sound here.

  2. Remember that tiny clip of Reapers they released a while back that just had the riff and people shouting "Drones!" instead of the screamy voice. I kinda wish it was still the shout. Not really a criticism just a vague want.

  3. Musically - the only one I like in the album so far. 7-8 / 10.

Lyrically - this album is cringe-worthy. Matt is getting even worse. The lyrical videos are so unbearable to watch. Just stop with these lyrical videos.

 The username, the post...classic .mu

  4. I typically don't expect much from Muse videos. The only good one they actually did, in my opinion, was for Hysteria.

And that wasn't even an original concept.

Surely Knights of Cydonia is worth a shout in that regard. Always thought Supermassive's vid was pretty good too, and Time is Running Out. I'm probably biased though, those videos being on TV were part of how I got into the band.

  5. I listened to this twice when it came out, then decided to leave it until now before judging it.

I've decided I'm about as meh about Dead Inside as I am about Psycho...except Psycho may be better because I know it's good live. I like the chorus, at least from the second one onwards, and I like the big shift towards the end. But other than that it just plods along and takes far too long to get going.

  6. I'm expecting something rather upbeat from this. Rather like Time is Running Out has 'drowning' and 'asphyxiated' and 'death' in it but is a rather fun, driving track. Maybe something similarly sadist, like the perspective of someone wanting to drown out the world with drugs or by obeying some totalitarian regime etc, with the lyrics glamourising it. The chorus, 'I wanna feel Dead Insiiiiide' or something. Of course, surface-level will be characteristically vague.

  7. Every new song we hear will involve half the posters liking it, and the other half not. And each half will spend their time trying to show how the other half is wrong using evidence that's actually opinions. This will go on until June.

And those people having those said opinions will be sure to remind each other that opinions exist and are a thing and aren't even open for discussion because they are immune to it due to being subjective, and that disagreeing with said opinions are tantamount to a personal attack.

  8. I ridicule anyone who acts ridiculous.

If you feel like you're simply not being listened to when you're repeatedly saying the Origin/Absolution era was better, it's because it's the freaking Muse forum. The debate has been run over and over and ground completely into the dust. When I saw this thread title I nearly laughed, it's that ancient a discussion. So bringing up such ideas here, where people are listening to and expecting new material, begs the question as to why you're here.

  9. people have evolved. From what I can see there aren't many camera phones being held up. Good.

That's because it was a new song, nobody wants to record songs they don't know. There were a lot of camera phones; they pissed me off the whole gig and they're starting to be a dealbreaker for me. I had to wait outside for this event for four hours, I didn't wait to see someone's arm and camera.
