at this juncture, i say we all should be pleasantly surprised if any of the remaining, yet-to-be released material is halfway decent. expect the worst; hope for the best.

F the duration of a mere weekend. i'm still mightily trying to come to grips w/ the notion that i first saw this band when i was 19 (i still hate you, maverick records). yup, quite a bit older now. anyone else have similar feelings of...whatever?

i'm not listening to anything unless i can confirm the quality of the tracks is decent. most of the early leaks are shitty rip-jobs from either CDs or, god-forbid, vinyl. actually, i may not listen to anything until my boxset arrives (w/ all 21 tracks) so i can listen to all the tracks in, again, decent quality, in one fell swoop. in any event, it's a 100% guarantee that resourceful folks can find the iTunes files of the deluxe version (the 16-track version) a few minutes after 2:00 p.m. GMT on the 8th (thursday), when the australian iTunes store makes 'em live to download.

i have a feeling a good number of ST tracks might be lowered at gigs, which is somewhat disappointing. oh well, aging is a process through which we all go. how high can morgan get? lol

so the "boxset" is basically a big ass book that houses all of the content? interesting. ----- on another note (pardon the pun, as you'll see), Tove Lo had to sing "extremely high notes" on GUAF b/c matt couldn't get that high? i did not know this. wtf kind of notes might they be? question: what is the highest note that matt has hit live w/in the last three years or so? anyone have any intel on that?

was morgan part of the recording process this time? the latest French review (lost in translation?) seems to indicate that's the case.

i surmise you're being partly facetious. they would NEVER do mere 60-minute sets chock-full of mostly rubbish, walk off the stage, and call it night...would they? c'mon. unless there are epic tracks yet to be released on ST, if they play ST tracks along w/ starlight, madness, UD, uprising, hysteria, TIRO, and KOC...or some other similar combo of tired material, they're screwing themselves....or are they? perhaps not. this band knows they have fans that love their 'crap' material...and others that love the stuff they'll rarely play again. everyone on here knows that a 60-minute set is entirely unacceptable unless it's a festival appearance, in which case they should be headlining and get 85-90 minutes. so, in any event, a 60 minute set at any gig is just bonkers. they aren't that old...yet.

you get pink if you like nostalgic tchotchkes (a uniquely US term, no?). ...which i happen to like, so i purchased. shame on me. tchotchkes -- why did the bloody americans pluck this from the polish? etymology 101...

on another note entirely: what are the opinions out there w/ the choice to go with clear vinyl for the super deluxe boxset? would any other color options have been preferable? pink? purple? drones got red, and to my knowledge, there are no other color variations from black on any edition of any other album aside from the initial numbered UK showbiz pressing (also clear). ...which seems odd to me...b/c, well...muse (penchant for the 'dramatic')... also, i want FLAC (or HD/HQ) files. i don't care how shitty this album (may or may not) end up being in its entirety. no dice this time around.

maybe if you had brought up suicide squad instead, the banter might not have been so prolific over the last few hrs.

plus, final tracks on prior albums are generally fairly decent (great in a couple cases)...for the most part.

i guess that's the ultimate question -- money to burn, or not? quite frankly, unless rumors surface of a setlist filled with a decent amount of rarities...i feel an expenditure of disposable income may not be justified. perhaps i'll revisit circumstances after the full album is released and if they're any decent discounted flight fares at the time. -

it looks like £1,200 would be total for travel, two night stay, and a ticket. hmm... -
i surmise it's for a mixture of both tax benefits and any future copyright infringement lawsuits. one never knows when a third party might come out of the woodwork and think matt may have plucked already-protected material and didn't attribute proper credit...and seeks damages. and yes, from my understanding, their other LLP is solely to deal with their live performances. also, i was told a few years ago that they've formed an LLC (or LLP...can't recall) to deal solely w/ gigs that occur in the states. liability protection and preferential tax treatment are always nice perks of being a decent breadwinner. k, i'd say that's enough banter from me about some doo-doo that's likely boring to most.

advice needed from others: should i make an effort to get to this gig, or would travel + ticket cost + etc. exceed the benefit ultimately received? never been to RAH. unknown factor largely may be the balance of ST yet to be released. decisions, decisions. leaning against. made the trek for SBE, but dunno if it's worth it this go-around... -
ofc, AP was played a few times during that tour. RBS (a personal fave -- it MUST return) could kinda fit during this tour...maybe. ...if you can kinda shoehorn an equating of the idea of "lack of control" with "simulation"/"distortion of reality." eff it, prob too much of a stretch.

could very well be. it's a UK LLP, so complete pass-through taxation at a lower rate. matt's obviously in the top tax bracket in the UK, and the LLP tax rate on those royalties is about half of that.

just to illustrate what that phrase may sound like given the composers involved... really, it's information of no consequence at all at this point in the proceedings.

i'm not sure i like the slow burn approach of this album release. sorta like the dichotomy of watching an episode of a tv show week-to-week vs. the pleasure of binge-watching a favoured season series in one fell swoop. i've got more random opinions that fit well in this post/thread, but Imma save 'em for some later time and place.
