  1. where in a live setlist is this going to fit? globalist positioning and/or perhaps first encore. seems those are really the only logical spots. every other option seems like a poor choice.
  2. as far an album closer goes, this is indeed decent (as most are, save the garbage from drones). but for me, it’s RBS first...and then i’d have to give it a bit more thought on the remainder.
  3. i can’t do this exercise quite yet. but i suspect you’re on the right track. on the fly, i’d move the void to 4 and promote pressure a bit. ...and, again, i wish sia did the parts on GUaF (that acronym will always remind of guacamole henceforth for some reason). but i may not listen to that song ever again. so there’s that.
  4. i almost always have to let new music stuff in a bit before rendering opinions. no — that’s always the case. but the dust is starting to settle, and i sense that clarity re: my opinions on all this material is soon on the horizon. time to...get up and fight? no. i’m pretty sure this is one of the most interesting tracks muse have put out in quite some time.
  5. i’m getting it. i’m there. sold. it makes stange sense.
  6. agree on all fronts, except on the void (acoustic), where matt should've ripped into a 'piano thing'-esque moment in the middle of it. have we determined, in fact, which track had that two-minute rachmaninoff-like bit excised from it? if it really was from TC, then i don't give a damn. something like that fits in the void (either version). algorithm (AR), as someone has said somewhere on here, is indeed matt's audition to do an OST for some stupid, grandiose movie (or the next Bond).
  7. ofc, this track has so many influences, yet it's strangely muse. and that's partially why i keep tabs w/ this band. AND the fact that credits on the track are largely, solely, matt's.
  8. the equivalent of revolt. sia should have done the work on the track instead of tove lo.
  9. succinctly put. and i pretty much...kinda....agree w/ this assessment preliminarily, but, as with everything, i need tracks to brood a bit. ultimately, though, this may very well be how i'm going to view this album in the long run. i also like quite like the void (acoustic) -- this is is where matt should've thrown in that rachmaninoff-esque excision discussed previously. something tells me he wrote a 2-minute bit so great that, for whatever reason, he wanted no official recording of it...yet. (a live treat, perhaps?) matt throws in total, unjustifiable crap here and there (maddening), but it's hard to deny he's one of the most talented creators of music in our generation. content may not be well-executed/produced/mixed well all the time (and, again, total shite may be the ultimate result in some cases), but it's difficult to deny that his musical mind works like few others right now. for better or for worse.
  10. i cannot stand warner and their consistent, lackadaisical efforts w/ regard to posting pre-orders promptly. i am raising hell.
  11. typical warner. i paid them $110+ almost 2.5 months ago for items to arrive likely multiple weeks after release date (because they'll ship everything via USPS media mail). 'We make every effort to ship pre-order products to arrive at US addresses on or before street date, but cannot guarantee a delivery date.' apparently not. order hasn't even shipped yet.
  12. i'm now somewhat glad they released DD, TC, SH, TDS, and P in the staggered fashion they did. there is so much going on in a majority of the other tracks such that it's taking me a hefty amount of time to process all this material. maybe i'll get around to ranking/rating songs in the near future.
  13. medley discussion aside, morgan's got his work cut out for him this go-around.
  14. to what are you listening? the mp3s or the FLACs (mind you, i listened only to pressure to see if they were quasi-legit FLACs -- saving the remainder for release day)? in any case, those subtle changes wouldn't surprise me.
  15. i can possibly see a scenario where people who purchased the super deluxe are given access links to digital downloads of the additional tracks...if enough people bitch. otherwise, reliance on rips from the CD once ppl start getting their boxes is going to be key.
  16. think i'm gonna hold out until tomorrow to listen (until after purchased iTunes mastered tracks go live), and then wait god knows how long to listen to the five remaining tracks whenever snail mail gets the box to my door. (even though the FLAC files are currently sitting in my playlist, hah). will be interested to see the flood of additional comments over the next 24-48 hrs when everyone can get their ears on it.
  17. $85+fees. looks like if you want to be near the barrier, there's an additional fee for a "Standing Room Upgrade." eek. gets you in to see races all three days...and concert admission. gig is going to take place not in the amphitheater, but on the "COTA Super Stage." http://austin360amphitheater.com/events/indycar-ft-headlining-performance-by-muse
  18. i suspect they'll be less costly than those for the main tour.
  19. the stage/set (and some associated gear) for the main tour is going to be in FL. they're going to play in the amphitheater with a simple LED backdrop (or some such) and then fly to FL after the gig, where the bulk of everything will be waiting for them.
