  1. er...i don't mean muppets as in...nvm. haha... anyway, it doesn't matter if she doesn't believe cos it's true. ^_^ and really, i wouldn't bother to feel too bad about her, or someone else for the matter, dissing MUSE, if I were you. with the amount of people complaining about a certain band, or certain bands rather, as opposed to the amount of deserving accolades MUSE have been receiving, it's OK if certain fans of certain other bands feel the need to step on them a little to make themselves feel better. this certain other bands need some love, too, you know, even if they really aren't as good (tho that is not to say they aren't good at all...they /are/...it's just that when compared to MUSE, they come up a little bit short, just as when compared to some other great bands, be it those in the past or those that are still out there doing their thing now, MUSE may come up a little short, as well). you, at least, are secure in your knowledge of your favorite band's prowess that you don't need to diss other bands to make yourself believe it. =) sure, it still stings when someone thoughtlessly disses a band you like, whether the band is really good or not, but just keep telling yourself that there's a reason you like them and if the other person does not understand it, and does not even want to try, then it's just too bad cos this really limits the way they'll perceive things, and the world has so much more to offer. i guess what i'm trying to say is, it's their problem, not yours. just remember that. and remember not to fall into the same trap as they did. even if you think the band they like sucks, just remember there must be a reason that makes other people like them....though I don't really need to say the last bit, do I? you seem to be doing alrite on your own ^_~ and you're only four years older than I am...if you're an aunty what does that make me? =( and damn, deb's only 11 in 2001...I was already 19 then and worrying about not passing my modules in college cos of too much slacking...
  2. no segregation needed here, mate. it's good to know that there are true-blue chinese out there, who actually speak the language, enjoying MUSE as well. shows that their music really do transcend all borders. cheers to them. and to you. and to us. and i'm not really a banana if i can speak cantonese, am i? so nope, i'm not one and am proud to admit that~~(actually there's nothing remotely flattering about being a banana yanno...it's actually a derogatory term coined for people who can't speak their mother tongue, so don't feel bad at all about not being one. fact is, you seem to be able to speak decent english despite the fact you're not one----and believe me when i say that not even bananas are able to speak decent english sometimes--and that, my friend, puts you on top). hey crazy, does z knows that she's dissing her favorite band's favorite band? xxDD edit: oh, and i'ma gonna take a wild guess as to which your first concert was. i'm thinking their moniker sounds like the muppets...or sounded, more like.
  3. ^*lol* he's just taking the piss outta you. the next time he does it, go for gold. show him this: hope your face's flexi enough. xDD
  4. ^Have you tried joining contests? If you're non-muslim and are over the age of 18, here are a few that are still open that you can try your luck with: 1. Junk Online's Tiger Presents MUSE, Closing date: Feb 12 2. FACES' e-freebies, Closing date: dunno but I reckon they'll take the page down when it is. 3. The Sun's Tiger presents MUSE in Concert, Closing date: Feb 9 (this one was advertised via the newspaper itself but the questions are relatively easy...1. Name the three members. 2. Name the presenter. 3. Complete the slogan, "I must see MUSE live in concert because..."--or something along those lines--and include your name, Address, I/C# and M/P#. Put the subject header as "Tiger presents MUSE in Concert Contest", and you're all set ^^) EDIT: Alternatively, you can try to get in touch with this person seeing as he/she has 4 free seating tickets and is willing to part with 'em for RM52 (each, i'd reckon) and seeing as the auction ended with 0 bids, he/she might still be holding on to 'em. And for anyone who hasn't seen this yet, it's time to start feelin' good. ^_~
  5. ^ Haha I'm glad it's Tiger, actually. Besides a chance of getting free beer, it gives the whole thing a more contemporary and sophisticated feel. Check out their not-so-many previous projects. They're all quality acts. Tiger knows its stuff and are picky buggers. You should be glad they picked MUSE cos that's as good a final confimation as any that you're going for music for music itself, and not something that's more a current fad using music as a medium to sell their image (and while I have muchos respect towards the music of LP and Incubus, to me, both them and their sound are still partially image-driven)...and you gotta admit, Celcom and the likes are more prone to that cos they're easier to predict a profit out of than say...this weird band with average looks from somewhere in England no one has ever heard anything about. Trust me when I say that the people, young and old alike, who bought tickets to see MUSE aren't mostly the people you'll find in all the other ones, some which are more specifically targeted at the Chinese-speaking crowd (and I do mean speaking), and some which are targeted at a more impressionable young crowd (tho I won't say you'll find a shortage of them at MUSE's concert, impressionable as they may be, some of them still know good music when they hear it...and who knows, this may be the very thing they need to graduate from that very stage they're in). Which is not to say that these other acts are all talentless hacks. Far from that. All these HK/Korean acts are high powered and they're all talented performers, But that does not necessarily make them musicians. This continental bunch from Nowhere, Devon, however, are musicians in the purest sense of the word. And people who want to watch musicians perform, there are many of us. You just don't hear from us as much cos, well, how often do you get musicans of an international calibre coming here? Factoring all these, it really shouldn't come as a surprise. But wait a minute, it does, somehow, still. Why? 'Cos the last big-name act we had visiting that can safely call themselves musicians, and whose names are incidentally and arguably bigger than that of MUSE's, didn't sell out even. how the heck did MUSE ever manage to? While this concert was decently publicized (tho not overly so, which is a good thing), they hardly get advertised or air time or broadcast time in this region. So while that part remains more or less a mystery, I think it's safe to assume that it's all due in part, and a rather large one at that, to their unique and genre-defying sound that, while most may not have heard via regular overblown media, appeal to quite a lot who bothered to pay attention. And they don't make it too hard either what with their years of toiling and touring. As long as you bother to look, you'll get exposed to them. and there are many of us, exasperated with what the daily media's feeding us, who've decided to take things in our own hands and choose what we want to listen to ourselves. A natural filter of sorts, if you will. This may not work for every band, but i'm glad it's worked for MUSE. In saying so though, let's not forget that it did take them eight long years of hard work so it probably hadn't been, in the words of Mercury (RIP), a pleasure cruise. But with bands like theirs around, we can all collectively sigh in knowing that all is not lost in the music business. and here's to more talented and unique bands making it to our shores as brilliantly as this one did, in the future. And let them all be world-class personified, as this one is. So Tigermusic, Galaxy and MUSE, cheers. *cheers with a free Tiger...which will hopefully get served at the venue*
  6. was just listening to the loveline show again and yeah, both the Philippines and Thailand were both mentioned when they listed off countries they were gonna play in SEA. in fact, these two were actually the very first two countries mentioned by Bellamy. whatever happened, I wonder. maybe they'll tour there later in the year seeing as it's kinda too late to announce anymore february dates...
  7. were they presale tix? nah...that was the opening day promo. i was there for those. A 30% dicount isn't a laughable sum for a RM233 ticket yanno...for tickets of any price, really.
  8. haha, the people in front of me who bought 15 (or so) pitt tickets were all malay college kids--or at least, they look like they were to me. trust me when i say kids these days are not like the ones from a few years back (when i was one of em back then, too). RM150-RM200 is not that big a deal to them now... ...so no, there's no telling if the pitt will be 'better' or not, seriously.
  9. pitt, against my better judgment. humor me, tho, why settle for rockzone? i mean, if you don't want to be in the pitt cos you don't want to be potentially moshed, i totally get it. but that'd mean you'd go for one of the seats. there's an equal potential to be moshed in the rockzone so...why?
  10. haha. remind me again why you can't go? or are these extra tickets from other friends of yours who pulled out after the tickets have been bought?
  11. ^that's fine and all but you sure it's not also cos you wanna try to make a profit as well? =} not trying to judge you or anything cos there's nothing wrong with wanting that and ebay does have that other function...it'd be silly not to exploit it...wouldn't it? oh, and deb. i'll answer your question about chelsea later, k? i need to do some research about her species for that. she's very important to me so i can't get anything wrong about her...
  12. ^^^no, i most certainly will not. ^^and no, i most certainly am not. *sniffs uppitily*
  13. well if ye have an arsenal, ye can bring 'im along. and chelsea wasn't named after a football club, ye git. no self-respectin' rubber duckies of mine will ever be named after no stinkin' football club!! xxDD but seriously, i just wanted to give 'er pretty girly name so there. oh, and what i really meant was that i'll do the bringin' ye all do the comin' (not that comin' ya perv). but like i said, if ye hv one of ye very own, don't let nothin' stop ye from bringin' it.
  14. ok! i'll look out for someone wearing lime green and barney purple checkered shoes *beams*
  15. ^^ heh, i'm not the one who needs convincing. speaking of which, the identifier/indicator has been decided *parappaparappaparappaparappa* behold chelsea, my pride and joy~~~~!!!! *swells* ~*~*~ *~*~* lovely lil thing isn't she? and all the right proportions too...check out those angles~~don't tell me, i know! you're so overtaken by adoration and overwhelmed by emotions now you don't know to whether kiss her little beak or to lovingly stroke her quaint little rubber ducky feathers, aren't you? well, just know that you're not alone. that's right, mmhmm. *nods* such a regal little ducky, isn't she? mmhmm. *nods*
  16. ^wow...thanks for that. haha didn't think to check the archives. the tickets wre really expensive, weren't they? o.O;; i wonder if the reason MUSE's one isn't as is because they have only half the number of members in the band xxxD
  17. they don't? really? speaking of which, how'd the INXS one do? i had always assumed that it's a sold out gig... edit: time is running short and still no announcement on two of THE countries to go to when you're in SEA, one even moreso than Malaysia, tho just by a bit. I'm talking about Thailand (the one that's a must-go) and the Philippines. Where's the "Live in Bangkok"s and "Live in Manila"s...? I mean a tour of Asia, nay, SEA, should at least include these two, right? i would think that they'd have a pretty strong fanbase there and they've gone as far as to mentioned the Philippines at least (don't remember if they've mentioned Thailand) when they listed down countries they were hoping to play while in SEA...and they /do/ seem to have that huge chunk of time between their last show in Oz and the one in Indo. Stranger and stranger...
  18. *drops jaw* you're right, it's almost sold out. hot damn! you go, malaysians!!!! this way, they'll come back for another round for their next tour...for sure, yo!!! i'm so happy for them, hahaha~ and damn if my respect for malaysian music fans hasn't gone up a hundred notches or two. respect~~~!
  19. ^^ haha. i guess looking back now, i really /have/ been haven't i? terribly sorry about that. ^^;; but i can't guarantee it won't happen again if you repeatedly attempt to make me repeat myself, pun unintended. xD yes i have, as a matter of fact. you guys'll get a picture of it soon. *grins* and take your time confirming and don't worry if you can't make it in the end. there's really no obligation at all, anyway. it's just all for shits and giggles (and muse by extension, too, i s'pose). would be great if you can, tho. ^.^
  20. nice pics, hey. thanks for sharing ^__^ and whoa, skin and ben harper too, huh. you guys get really good gigs over there, don't you? speaking of pics, there's this real fugly one of Bellamy recently posted on the muselive forum...well, it's more of a screencapture really...
  21. i shudder to think of you reading fine print... (translation: your friends are more than welcome. in fact, bringing them along beats you coming alone big time xP) and you got the trasportation thingy right. just alight at Sg Wang Plaza, walk a bit and when you see the huge crossroads somewhere near Lot 10, you'll also sight a giant Giordano ad or signboard or both. Then look a little harder and you shouldn't miss the golden arches. EDIT: oh and jerrysoon, your dad doesn't happened to be called Simon, does he?
  22. er...i seriously just wanna meet you people. nothing more nothing less. i'm not even sure the mosher-defense thingy will work or not (there's a chance we might mosh each other to death, even). this stalker thing...well if you guys wanna go for it, be my guest. but the gathering i'm hoping will come into fruition isn't for that...so if you just wanna meet up and chat and trade enthusiasm, then the le muchos is for you. if stal--trac--trailing the band is more exciting for you, then i suppose you can form a different gathering for that...or you could go fulfill that mission of yours after the le muchos while some of us head on home. and deb, i'm just arranging a place where it'll be accessible to most everyone. if a lot of people can agree to it, then we'll just stick to it. if a lot can't, then we might go for your suggestion. is that fair enough? (tho truth be told, i really don't wanna hafta go to the venue a day before...since i'll be spending most of my following day there, looking at the same view over and over again...sides stadium negara ain't that far off from bukit bintang...it'e pretty darn near in fact, so much so that if you can freely choose to go to the stadium, you shouldn't have any problem going to bb as well...) and there's another reason i suggested bb. if we get too restless to stay in one place for long, we can always adjourn elsewhere without too much travelling involved, anywhere that's anything being within walking distance and all... and so far there's only one confirmed taker, if i don't include myself. there should be more of you out there...i hope...
  23. Hey there, all. Just thought I'd drop this here to get the ball rolling once and for all. So meetup, meetup. Date: February 24, 2007 Day: Saturday Time: 1300hrs Venue: Bukit Bintang McDonald's Those who can make it, please include a "w00t!MUSE" in your message and make it orange and bold, and link it back to this post like I did. All are welcome. Even if you aren't there to form a mosher-defense group with us, or heck, even if you aren't going to the concert at all. The only requirement needed is that you're a fan of their music. Hmm...come to think of it now, antifans (in the context of antiheroes, not the literal translation) are welcome, too, I suppose. What? You have to admit it'll make things interesting...no fistfights, though, cos none of us can afford to be warded or injured in lieu of the following day's event. As for an identifier of sorts...well, I've been thinking *real* hard on it--gears being rusty from disuse and all--and placing something on the table seemed like a fairly brilliant idea to me. A sign of sorts, ya know? *beams* As to what the sign will say I have yet to work out but I'll come out with something, I'm sure. Suggestions are welcome, too, but nothing too directly MUSE related, k? I wanna something quirky... I'm not much of an organizer (I usually leave the dirty work to others) but I figured I'll make an exception and get off my lazy arse for this one for the sake of not being moshed to death, after nearly having been. After this, if there are any slacking duties, please leave 'em to me! *salutes*
