  1. You see him play both chords and they both have the effect on them . If it was a backing track (which is impossible because it's affecting his guitar sound), the first 'wrong' chord couldn't exist... Simple as.
  2. It wasn't heel up, I don't think - it was some double-strike thing, maybe heel-toe(which I know nothing about - I thought it was a hi-hat swing thing that some people do to keep time)...
  3. I think he's flicking his foot backwards along the pedal - probably easier in socks!
  4. Yeah, the guy doing it seems like a total dork/douchebag/other american insult .
  5. This one: http://www.musiciantechniquesmedia.com/bassdrumsecrets/bonuscontent.mov Apart from a cheeky little fill at the end, it seems pretty un-special - I can play like that all forking day!
  6. The fact that you have to pay to get the 'method' makes me very suspicious - it's like one of those 'ancient penis enlargement technique' sites.... If it is a genuine thing, it'll be out there for free and in drum magazines etc..... I don't get what's so special about the last (3rd) video anyway...
  7. Haha, yeah - it must have been another vid where you can hear it filtering some hum/feedback. I think the wrong chord proves my point in anycase:p !
  8. Watch the Reading vid, you hear the effect get turned on, then you hear and see Matt play through it.....
  9. I just checked - it goes: High: blip blip Low: blop blop blop blop blop blop + drumming... Much as I respect your uber drum knowledge, it's a click track!
  10. I reckon it's a click track/metronome - he appears to be playing cymbals, snare and cowbell at the same time..
  11. It's a sequenced filter of some sort - we don't know what exactly it is at the moment... It could be a ZVex seek/ooh-wah, it could be a Line6 filter pro, it could easily be some uber-rack thing that none of us will ever touch.
  12. IIRC, my old kit had 502 hats which I liked a lot - quite articulate and light when shut and a good 'even' sizzle when half-open .
  13. It's actually only about 6 inches long - a scale replica, if you will...
  14. Well in general, pressed metal is bendy, die-cast stuff is brittle and milled stuff can be stiff/strong and non-brittle - in other uses, it's usually the 'top' option (with a suitably premium price)... I just wondered if such things had made it into drums!
  15. I actually meant the whole thread . Anyway, on topic: How are normal hoops made and whats the difference between them and die-cast hoops? Also, wouldn't CNC milled hoops be the best? I've played drums for years but never bothered too much with the hardware side of things...
  16. So why correct it then? If you, nor anyone else cares, then the whole thing is a waste of time !
  17. Does anyone know of a good online dealer that sells black swamp and ships to the UK? I've tried JAM and Bell but they don't have quite what I want...
