They'll have something similar and will pay royalties for what they play. How it all works varies by country so not able to say for certain how it works in the USA. "Fair use" laws will be more for educational purposes and will not apply to commercial uses, such as radio, being "non-profit" doesn't get around copyright laws either. So these radio stations will be paying. Not that simple in reality. Also nothing to do with who likes the music but how they are using the music.

Actually that makes more sense than using Gain & Volume.

But gain is 'volume'? Silly guitarists.

Any guitar with Hot Rails/Motherbuckers would be fine if keeping costs down and as Jaicen said, swap the DL4 for an Echo Park and whatever budget is left over, go the as close to a DSL50 as you can get.

They only go for what the shop sells. But really should have gone for the OOS sound/setup, as its all pointless overkill from then on.

They never seem to be all that knowledgeable regarding what bands actually use, considering the amounts of information out there you'd think they at least do a bit of research beforehand.

I called it "transistory". But yeah, you can definitely hear its a Metal Zone in that video. Real shame I never got to try it with the Super Bass.

If he has control over the photos, why did he let them get become public in the first place? All the entitled pricks commenting are just ridiculous though.

Probably bit of an exaggeration, but yeah, very closely associated with the genre.

Errrr they are used for pretty much everything. When Hendrix was using them they were regarded as a "surf guitar" and only good for that...

Forgot the new USA's have a different finish on the neck to my ones. Both of mine are maple as well, just think they look better more than anything.

Never come across badly made MIA or MIM's, just most need a setup, which a lot of shops won't do. Look at getting a Fender though, better in the long term.

Like a thinner sounding Tele. David Gilmour's sound is probably about as stereotypically "Strat" as it gets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnC7TdkRnP4

It wasn't moved up an octave*, they messed with the timing and tided it up pitch wise or just replaced with another recording, but even creates problems. If you've got access to high quality recordings of the microphone prior to any effects, then I'd be happy to give it a go, otherwise its a pointless task to expect to get the same results. Distortion, especially with the high end softened a bit can be enough to hide it. Post-distortion processing would emphasise it. *As shown here:

Nah, you can hear him bend into the note at the start, then it wavers around, then there's the vibrato. Like I said, I can sort of change it in Melodyne, but its not great with full songs. It was just that last note I tried as well, just doesn't detect the whole thing, then crashes when I try getting it to so I can edit it to a static held note. Bliss at Live 8 is a blatant example though.
-
Nah, that's not pitch corrected as its all over the place (Well still could be, as anything could, but not a great example). Can sort of correct it using Melodyne, but it doesn't want to detect the whole note without crashing.
-
Yeah, there's a more going on there than just the pedal. Never got to try it through the Super Bass, so can't give you any pointers there. Didn't watch the whole video, but doesn't he use multiple amps?

How has your opinion of Muse changed over time

Lower mids are easy to dial out on the Metal Zone. I think the EQ might be before gain, too much bass causes it to clip more anyway, might not have the headroom after though! They go cheap as balls second hand, so worth a go, just don't put the mid freq above 12'o'clock and don't push any of the other controls far from that and its not the worst thing in the world. The issue is getting rid of the Boss transistoryness.
