  1. Plus, I've noticed that you guys struggle with the concept of opinions; more so than most of the Internet.

I really cannot believe that you can't hear how similar Dead Inside and Psycho sound live to their studio versions. Do you honestly think that Reapers is going to be so different? 'Coz that surprises the hell out of me.

Yes they sound similar, but those songs you mentioned are in no way as complex as Reapers is. There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding it! Plus, hearing the studio version of any Drones track for the first time is why we're all here in this thread isn't it?

  2. Muselive was just dying cause all the fans left and new fans didn't even know it existed, and the only people left there didn't even really like Muse.

And then they did the site change that loads an entire thread and has like a million pop ups in place of buttons. That at least made me stop going.

It's a shame really because at the time I preferred it to here. Although it was fairly chaotic because you could post leak links on there without getting in trouble. All sorts of fake shit would get posted every hour. I got a few viruses off the back of it!

  3. I feel like if Citizen Erased came out today, and it was played live first, people would talk about how terrible it is on the album. I think Muse have just gotten so good at playing live that it's nearly impossible for the album versions of any song to match up, at least for the heavier/rockier songs.

This is a fair point I guess.

There's only a small few songs that I heard live first and then thought they got better in the studio.

Off the top of my head: Hysteria and Stockholm Syndrome both improved off their early live versions.

  4. I find Reapers compareable to New Born in a way. Fun riff, the verses feel similar because of the guitar work and the excellent bass groove, guitar tapping and whammy wankery like the live NB solo's.

Really love the song, and ridiculously fun to play on guitar. If the studio version ends up being good, it might rank amongst a my favourite Muse songs.

Agreed. It's got everything I want from a Muse song and the guitar solo is probably the best Matt has done. If it pulls a Unnatural Selectoon though, I will be devastated!
