  1. I'd wager they are all someway part of a song.

Aside from the obvious ones, here are some we don't know yet:

Cows: Could be part of The Handler (creepy sounding), or maybe Drones (electronic sounding)

Sliding riff: Could be part of The Handler, maybe Aftermath

Milan Strings: I wanted to say Aftermath but when you listen to it at the end you can bridge it into the Globalist

    7 String Riff: Globalist

    Missing Guitar slide riff: Defector

Follow the Yellow Brick Road: Maybe the Handler? Maybe at the end of JFK?

Not sure if I missed any that are not obvious

Ahhh you beat me to it. I'm sure that slide guitar vid is from The Globalist though. It's the same as the 'making of' video...no?

  2. One of them clearly has the Psycho bassline, another bass video appears to be for Defector because it matches up to the leaked 'making of'.

There's a video of Matt playing slide guitar is from The Globalist. There's also another Matt one of him playing the riff from The Globalist.

Lastly, there's the one where we hear the riff and 'Drones' chant which is from Reapers.

The other ones aren't connected to any songs yet that we've heard. Unless I've missed something?

  3. Well out of the loop - sorry! - but are we expecting Mercy to be released in the not too distant future given it's track length has now suddenly appeared on iTunes? (And nothing else has)

    Yep!

My guess would be anytime between now and Monday. Basing this off how quickly they came out on iTunes when the Psycho and Dead Inside track lengths went up. Psycho was the same day!

  4. Well you're a bit of a cunt, aren't you :)

Pretty funny everyone judging me on this without knowing the context.

I was stating something about the crowds during 2001 and someone told me I was straight up wrong. Hence me telling him to go fuck himself. I certainly don't think I'm better than anyone because of this.

    You're welcome

  5. I can dig it. In fact I'm very glad this happened! If they had done another hard rock song for the lead single it would've been too predictable, and we all know Muse will stop at nothing to keep from being predictable. Now I'm excited cause this album is gonna be a wild ride, not to mention a full on concept album for once, which I love. Also, where are people getting this stuff about The Globalist being a ten minute prog rock epic?

Matt confirmed it on Radio 1. He said it's the sequel to Citizen Erased

  6. Weren't you just worried that you wouldn't hear the song if people sang over it? Do you want people to be quiet or not?

Singing along to the lyrics has been happening for decades at gigs. Singing along to riffs is fairly new (last 5 years)

I've been going to see Muse since 2001 and nobody sang along to the New Born riff. And you know what...those gigs were fucking awesome!

Last night was great too, but just because I chose to stand back and enjoy it instead of sweating my ass off and getting elbowed in the head doesn't mean I had less of a reason to be there or pay my money.

Showing appreciation for a song was usually done once the song finished and there was a massive applause...or in the case of Endlessly, a muted applause.

  7. I think "get off your high horse" is quite fitting actually. You're ridiculing other people's decisions, they react. Deal with it.

Yeah admittedly I was on my period that day....

I enjoyed you finding those quotes from over a week ago though!

How about you enjoy your gigs your way, and I'll enjoy my gigs my way?

I went to Manchester last night and loved it. Stood by the sound desk so I was far away enough to let people sing along to the riffs and still be able to hear the music. Works for me

  8. These things are all parts of (and the beauty of in my opinion) attending live shows. If you want an uninterrupted musical experience you might as well listen to the recordings. The moment the crowd started singing Psycho's riff felt absolutely brilliant. Both Matt and Chris looked extremely pleased with the crowd during The Groove. And for many people a muse gig is the only place they can (try to) sing MicroCuts so loudly without getting the looks.

Also please don't tell me one person (i.e you) is by any means eligible to determine "singablity" of a riff for the rest of the crowd.

So, next time you go to a gig. get off your high horse. I guarantee you'll enjoy it more.

See I have a problem with this too.

Just because we want to hear the LIVE music and not people drowning out the instuments with lairy chanting means we should only listen to recordings?

I go to gigs to watch and hear a performance. Songs usually always sound better live, especially when Muse do them! I think riff sing-alongs are cheesy and they grate on me, but I wouldn't tell people to stop doing them like you're telling people to get off their high horse!

  9. Glad we have FabriPav here to be the most fucking annoying member of the board

It's ok, he did the same to me when I dared to say people singing riffs bothered me. If you have an opinion on here, he likes to stamp his arrogant 'comedy' all over it. Nothing changes after all these years
