bunerz
I Work in mission control and can vouch there have been far lamer songs chosen by the crew. I think it was a good choice for landing day. Did you meet/see them when they visited a while ago?

meganne2003
Did you meet/see them when they visited a while ago? No FML! They were less than 50 ft. from where I sit and I had taken the day off to go to the show. So upset I had missed them. Don't get me started... AguanteRiver
This is all shades of awesome. Only one thing, though... Why SMBH when you can play Space Dementia???
meganne2003
This is all shades of awesome. Only one thing, though... Why SMBH when you can play Space Dementia??? Space dementia is an actual condition. Not something an astronaut wants to associate with if they want to fly again...

marmos
Yes it was NASA and no arrangement is needed other than the crew selecting their songs preflight with the ground. Aha! So there was a Muser aboard the shuttle. I like it

Scrub
Space dementia is an actual condition. Not something an astronaut wants to associate with if they want to fly again... I don't think an astronaut would wanna associate with Supermassive Black Holes either.

grw
it would seem that every space-associated muse song is ominous for astronauts!! space dementia, supermassive black hole, neutron star collision... the video for sing for absolution... exogenesis is about the end of the world, exopolitics is about zetas filling the sky... are there any optimistic space references in any muse songs that i cant think of?
meganne2003
I think exogenesis is positive for astronauts. Sucks for the rest of us but the astronauts get to save the existence of mankind. I like the "rockets thru the universe" reference in Glorious. Then there's Starlight.

meganne2003
This was also the very last flight for Atlantis. Only 2 more shuttle missions after this one. So the last song played on the last flight of Atlantis was SMBH! The ISS missions(the program I work for) are ongoing though. However, they don't wake the crew with music on ISS. Sadly this year will likely see the last of this tradition.
