  1. Adrian said I'm still part of the June/July shipment, but I think I'll opt for the Fernandes still unless the wait will be more than an additional month.

You ordered about a month ago too, didn't you? Hoping mine will be in the June/July shipment as well since I ordered around the same time.

I wonder if Matt eventually will go over to sustainiacs.

Probably will eventually use them for 6 string guitars too. I wanted to get a Fernandes since it's more Matthew, but the sustainiac seems much better.

When a sustainer is used a lot does it go through batteries quickly? I might see if Mansons can fit 2 batteries to mine if they don't last long. Not sure if that'd work though.

  2. Only listened to it once but I quite like it. Can definitely hear the Starlight comparisons, and it reminds me of Easily a bit too. I'll wait for the studio version to properly judge it though.

  3. I put in a pre-order deposit over a month ago for the MBC1, and I haven't even gotten an email confirmation for that yet. I emailed them a month ago and got a response saying that once the deposits are processed that I'll get a confirmation email. Why are they so backed up? It's not like they're the most in demand company in the world.

EDIT: I realize that I'm the only one complaining because I'm used to good American customer service, all my British friends tell me that it's silly to expect to be treated well as a customer in Britain :$

Did you order from the shop or works site? I ordered from the works about 3 weeks ago and got a confirmation email with the reference number etc the next morning.

They're probsbly really busy due to the demand for MBCs and having to build doubles of all MB's guitars.

  4. FF works a lot better with the harmony settings than the pitch shifting settings in my experience.

I've noticed that too. The fuzz still sounded good when I tried it with Fury earlier.

It works fine for pitch-shifting too. I know the Bass Whammy was designed after the DT and V so maybe they'd fixed the glitch by then.

DT works for pitch shifting oscillation as well.

  5. If you've ever used a FF and a Whammy at the same time, you should know better, haha!

Anyway, I'd say the DT doesn't suck the tone from the FF as much as the IV, but it still does quite a lot on the DT or pitch shifting settings. Works quite nicely on the harmonies however. Not sure about the noise you're talking about as I can't say I've ever had that. :erm:

Also, couriers who put a card through the door for redelivery without even knocking are bloody useless. Now I have to wait until Tuesday/Wednesday because of a stupid bank holiday weekend. ¬_¬

Haha, yeah I should have expected some problem with the two pedals. It's not really a noise, just messes up the fuzz sound. After using it a bit more it sounds like some of the low end is taken out when either side of the DT is on. Suppose I'll get used to it though.

Other than that it's an amazing pedal. The drop tune stuff is better than I expected. Can pay loads of Biffy songs in drop D now :D

  6. Anyone with a Whammy DT notice that it sounds a bit odd when it's switched on and there's a fuzz factory on in front of it? Not sure how to describe it, sort of more treble and starts to sound kind of horrible  Might be a problem with my pedal if no one else has this

Whammy IV "sucks the tone out" a bit but this thing with the DT is a lot more noticeable. The pedal sounds really good clean though.

  7. I'd rather throw my money at pro-shots of Assassin and Muscle Museum from the Psycho tour than Dead Inside and Psycho. Any day.

    But seriously, why not both?

A pro-shot of Assassin from Newport would be excellent as a Christmas present if it's not on the Drones DVD.

And even if it just has songs from Drones listed, it's still possible that there might be a couple of hidden videos, like on the Abso tour DVD.

  8. Some of the guitar tones were pretty iffy and the sound in general didn't seem great (judging by the YT mixes anyway) but other than that I can't really think of anything. The band can be pretty anal about their performances though.

Yeah SMBH sounded kind of hollow, but not bad. Matt might think it went badly since it was the first time they'd played in over a year but the performance sounded good to me, especially Sunburn.

  9. Has anyone from the second batch of MBC-1's heard when they will be ready? :)

There isn't a third batch yet is there? If not I'm in the second but have't heard anything new. Still not expecting it until July/August since the upgrades take longer.

  10. I've heard the version (it's beenon spotify for ages) and you're wrong. As you literally said, the first non-drill sergeant version had the feedback, and now a shorter version without it has been released.

I just listened to this on spotify and my iTunes (with the file from Warner) simultaneously and both were the same. Spotify shows the time as 5:17 but when you play it it's still 5:28. Unless there are 2 versions on Spotify and I've missed something...

Neither had the drill sergeant intro and both had the guitar tuning up to drop D feedback.

  11. Going to pay the deposit for one of these today, but since I want a sustainer installed should I add that (& strap, case etc) to the basket at the same time as the deposit, or wait until June/July when they've got some in stock and ask about the modifications then? I'm on the works website if that makes any difference.

  12. It's not really a "sequel" apparently it just revisits the lyrics from Showbiz and Matt referred to it being almost "a question and answer" with showbiz. Who knows what that really means though...

The "controlling my feelings for too long" line might be what he was referring to. I can see how it could be used to fit with the idea of being controlled by someone... sort of.

MK Ultra would go quite well on Drones as well since it's about mind control.

  13. So excited to hear the full song! Can definitely hear the comparison with Soaked.

For the record, Matt had already whistled "l'arena" at some gigs (during the TR tour I think), can't remember before which song.

    Is this it?

  14. I don't think this means much if he bought them for the reason we think he did.

Yeah, they're probably going to get smashed . I meant more that if they sounded bad compared to MBK-2s, he'd probably have them changed when the sustainers were being fitted.

  15. I'm not sure why people keep saying if that if you upgrade to the MBK-2 pickup and sustainer you might as well get the MA-2 when it's still £600 more

But I completely agree that you should try it before upgrading.

The pickup that comes in it sounds pretty good from demos I've seen/heard, so I'd defitely try it before getting an MBK-2. Sustainer seems like most useful upgrade.

And it looks like MB has the standard bridge pickup in his Corts.
