  1. I just don't think that would matter watching it on a movie screen, though.
  2. Seems like after a year you wouldn't even remember you wanted it deleted. Maybe that's the point, I guess.
  3. I think it was worthwhile because Rome was a tour I didn't have an opportunity to see, too. Since I've seen this exact Drones tour set up, and wasn't thrilled about it at the time, I can't imagine I'd enjoy seeing it in the theater. I also noticed it's quite a bit more expensive than a normal movie, which is a bit odd.
  4. Seeing the Rome gig on the big screen was an interesting experience, far better than watching it on DVD (which I never really got through,) but I also felt so awkward that I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. I always wonder if I'd have enjoyed it more if I went alone.
  5. I looked in on my local theater, and was surprised to find the one showing is over half sold out. Of course, that's like 8 people, but still!
  6. There were two people when I saw Rome being rowdy, but everyone else just sat and watched and left at the end. Other than the two that were running up to the front of the screen and screaming (rather cringe) I was likely the youngest person in the theater, as well.
  7. They tried to release the dates, but their tracker failed again (same issue for Rome, but not quite as bad.) Seems like par for the course, sadly. Hopefully the people who want to get in can do so, since the tickets are largely already on sale.
  8. That last verse could also be indicative of the mindset that led to the narrative to begin with, and not the other way around. It's a realization that your relationship has led you to become something you don't like, which is very real, and very relatable. I don't have any reason to believe that the "becoming a manipulative, cold person" ending to that song isn't based in reality, or was originally meant to be a lead in of sorts to a fictional "story." In fact, I suspect being concerned about being too open about such things when writing the album is what led to the idea of the fictional story in the first place. DI being a noticeable stand out on the album would seem to support that.
  9. So? Doesn't matter if it's jumping up and down, or screaming/singing at the top of my lungs. Both of them detract from my ability to watch and enjoy the show, and frankly make me feel a bit silly. If people go to the gig to blow off steam, or to get physical, fine, but that's not any more valid than people who want to quietly enjoy the show, either. My original point being, when moshing/pogoing the entire gig was a thing, people weren't always really enjoying the show the way they wanted to, either, they were just doing what they had to do. It's better when people are just allowed to be themselves.
  10. I clap and cheer after songs, and that's about it nowdays. I've also enjoyed the gigs a ton more for paying attention. Phones go in the opposite direction, and I don't get how people enjoy the gig while worrying about filming or taking pictures, but again to each their own. I would assume artists take some solace from seeing a packed crowd, no matter what they're doing, and the fat paycheck that that entails. At any rate, I don't feel bad for them.
  11. I also have always believed the "narrative" was a thin exterior put on what was a bunch of break up songs. But, with the exception of DI, those songs were either written, or rewritten, in an overtly conspiracy theory/political manner. Matt's mentioned how he thought politics mirrored what was going on in his life, but that comes across completely sloppy and lacking in nuance. Again, with the exception of Dead Inside. Other than the "unleash a million drones" line - which could have been added, or could be interpreted in a lot of non-literal ways - that song is painfully frank. I don't believe it's a coincidence that not only are the lyrics better when the song is super personal, but the song is also better musically, as well.
  12. I'm sure there's just as many people up front who just want a close up view of the band they paid to see without someone slamming into them, too. Everyone pays the same ticket price, and has the right to watch the show however they see fit, without being overly disruptive. The moshing and pogoing of the '90s was absolute bullshit, tbh. It was just something you had to do, and did systematically to every single song of every single band because "that's how concerts are." It wasn't people expressing enjoyment of the band, it was just an excuse to not control excess testosterone in a healthy manner, and "tradition."
  13. Outside of very small fanbases, US crowds are typically not that active, regardless of age, demographic, or phone use. Honestly, I enjoy it a hell of a lot more than the constant jumping up and down and moshing of the '90s, which prevented me from really watching or enjoying the majority of gigs I went to back in the day.
  14. It would make sense, as they were numbered. I only recall seeing number 2. I don't even remember what part of Globalist it came out for at my gig, as I just ignored it and looked at the visuals. Just remember seeing a video of it ramming Matt at the piano bench at some other gig.
  15. I always forget that that giant butt plug came out during Revolt for some reason. I still get mad that I didn't get that song despite going to back to back gigs, but then remember that they played it with their backs to the crowd spinning in a circle for some reason. I also was on the leg where a song slot was cut and didn't get whatever that weird visual going on during UD was.
  16. There was never a functional list for the US anyways. I remember having to call around to all the small theaters asking about it, and was still given the wrong information about it being in 4k. It was said that that orbs were supposed to have projection screens on them but they didn't get enough time to test it, and gave up when it failed. That's why they were all white during the Mexico gigs and then had the screening removed later to make them clear and lights were slapped on them. If that is the sort of thing they were planning, I'm glad it failed. Mostly I'm curious if they've actually photoshopped visuals like that into the actual gig movie... because why else put it on the poster like that?
  17. That's fine. I just remember contacting someone ages ago about deleting my account or changing the name (for a job) and never heard anything back, and didn't know where to go from there. It's all blown over now, but at the time was a bit stressful.
  18. They had this issue the last time they did this (Rome,) too. The tracker never worked correctly.
  19. I don't remember anything like that, but I guess I stopped reading recent interviews. I'm just against adding visuals to what's supposed to be a live concert release. That's pretty shoddy, if it happens. I'm even more curious about the "documentary" part of it now, too, because how boring would that be to see in the theater? Do people really want to see Matt explain floating drones as a metaphor for (gasp!) drones! on the big screen?
  20. How many shows did all the orbs even all work at? I saw one in Philly, but then the very next night several of them weren't working. And the Philly gig, while they were all working, more than half of them looked awful. Lights weren't working, or the LED light strips were dangling off the orb. I don't imagine they're going to put stuff like that in the movie. Although, based on that poster, they're not above completely fabricating visuals for this thing.
  21. I think the real question isn't so much if it's a reference to the movie, or just "hey, we're all born as drones!" (likely the latter as the former doesn't fit the concept at all...) but does this mean they've edited the actual live special effects in the movie? Because that's more sad than an overdubbed note in Survival.
  22. Look how much work they put into the 4k recording for Rome just so next to no one got to see it, would it surprise you?
  23. What on Earth is with the fetuses in the orbs? Now I'm really glad that the screens on those things failed immediately.
