  1. Those two 2016 nights’ combined capacity is half that of one of this one tbf, not really comparable. They may well add a second date though.
  2. Maaaaaad, feels like I was just a wee babby for my first Muse gig. Would imagine you’ll enjoy it, it’ll mostly be new songs + greatest hits but that’s usually what you want from your first gig. I remember being buzzing for PIB, Hysteria, Supermassive, Uprising, TIRO and Knights at mine. If you get within the front third of the standing crowd, it should be pretty good in Manchester. soft at the core?
  3. I’ve not, no, but I wasn’t expecting them ‘til maybe even next week.
  4. Really just for Hoodoo He did HTAILY and Unintended well enough back in the day too. Still a bit on that overly-clinical and strict side that killed Blackout but that doesn’t matter as much with those I guess.
  5. Obvs he’s a brill bass player. His backing vocals are v effective and fill parts out well but can be a bit off-key sometimes and I’d imagine it usually being Matt who actually writes those parts. Rate him as a bass player and occasional guitar player highly. I’m just saying vocally he can usually pull off a really good belt but I just find his normal vocals a bit flat and kinda shakey (hard to tell how much of that was nerves when he’d sing live though).
  6. Tbf, all he says is that it will be played live, not how often Every album has one or two songs that take the bullet and BITM just seems like one of the overt candidates to me rn.
  7. Something I’ve picked up on with Pressure - they should’ve cut Matt’s guitar in the verses and left that part to be mostly dominated by the brass (maybe including the extra parts from the UCLA version). As it is, the thin tone clashes awkwardly with the lower, punchier tones of the other instruments and it’s slightly worse live for it as well (so far at least). That would ascend it to nigh perfect for me.
  8. Was hoping for the cover to be slightly more different from the original, maybe prefer the last 2 over it for that reason, but it does suit their sound well.
  9. NSC is actually not that bad, isn’t one of the worst songs from the TR era and is probs better than at least half of T2L. I’d never want him to take lead again because, bless him, I just don’t think his vocals are unique or good enough for a band like Muse. His strength is clearly those gravelly belts though and I’d be up for hearing them implement that on a record alongside Matt’s lead vox. Similar to TSP back in the day, which I know a lot of people asked for for a while and has died down recently.
  10. Anticipating the announcement for this ‘tour’ of Japan now Matt’s reiterated how they like to play CTMEOY there...could be v much a temptation if I can find travel at a somewhat affordable price.
  11. I can’t find it (maybe ‘cos I barely understand Instagram) but is it in response to the comment asking for it at RAH?
  12. Anyone know how close or far away it is to selling out? Tbf they say part of the reason they wanna strip back the tech is so people can focus on them, as well as the other people on stage, so they’re concious of the crowd not losing sight of them. We’ll have to see how it’s gonna line up.
  13. Idk about the others but it was on the London and Manchester venue maps
  14. Of course I wait to see if Paris gets a night 2 and when it does, night 2 ends up being the one already sold out ah well, twickets it is at a later time I guess Bet that’s gonna be a good show though
  15. Mainly live, on record’s generally been pretty decent. The main thing that’s really started to grate on me is his general ‘heavy’ tone. It’s so bottomed out and bass-heavy, sounds like it’s got a phaser on it 80% of the time as well. It ends up sounding so smooth and washed out that it’s almost like he’s using the neck pickup and it’s so bass dominant that it ends up blending with Chris’ sound. There’s so little crunch to it or spike from the treble end and it actively takes away from how big these parts can sound when the guitar’s trying to do the same thing as the bass, with the only dynamics coming when Matt abuses the sustainer. His lighter overdrive is better in the dynamics department but it’s still quite thin and sounds a bit too close to being clean at times. 2006 is maybe the only one worse, not sure some of those can be topped
  16. I’m not 100% about Meg, said before that I can see the band doing either in terms of not wanting to repeat themselves but also feeling ‘rude not to’ use it again. I’d like it, I’d imagine it’d be better than the only other performance I’ve seen, but it won’t be the end of the world if they don’t. I’m just looking forward to the venue, new stuff I haven’t seen and maaaybe, maybe something old I haven’t as well but I’m not pinning much on that one. Plenty of songs I’d rather see and I’m not the biggest fan of that 5.1 solo but I can imagine the transition of Matt running back on stage to the riff being pretty fun might be a bit of a trek to leave the stage and go up to the organ (I think that’s what you have to do?) just to play a few chords though, unless it opens an encore or something.
  17. goddammit don’t tempt me I love doing it but it depends what you’re going for. If you just going to experience the general show then you don’t need to go more than once. If you’re going ‘cos you love Muse and most of the songs and don’t mind seeing the same ones, hoping for the odd different one as well, then it’s fun. Just going to different venues and countries adds a lot as well.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLU06kflrH8 it’s alive AND the albums will be remastered versions (I don’t think Origin needs it tbh but Showbiz I’m all game for and it means the band have had to listen back to HTAILY which comforts me)
  19. Something interesting to point out, in that Radio X thing, Matt actually said that Resistance never stuck with people live like he thought it would but that people in the US seem to like it so they keep it around up there. Slightly more tenuous but he didn’t seem overly keen on UD live to me either, when asked about the song in general he sorta pulled a face as if he was stretching a bit and that live “it’s alright”. Maybe won’t be around as much next tour? Edit: also VERY loose tie but the question of celebrating the band’s 25th anniversary and 20th anniversary of Showbiz in the form of live shows (no love for TR’s 10th lmao) was put to them at the iHeart thing and Dom said “we probably should”, probs suggests they haven’t thought of anything but maybe will who knows Ohhh, I’ve seen this coming a mile off, just wait for the main tour to start off. “At least on the Drones tour we had heavy songs, wtf is this shit” “Can’t even be arsed to play heavy songs in full anymore lmao” “Why do they have to wear such silly, poppy outfits now? so cringe” (For the record, I’m not saying this from a high horse, I’ve been just as bad over the years )
  20. Blockades is wicked, don’t sleep on it just ‘cos it has all the Muse tropes, embrace it I like Drones but it’s maybe better than anything on that record for me, sort of what I wanted Reapers to be (not that I don’t like Reapers) In a way, this just makes me feel like I was even closer and still missed out but it’s v sweet for you to say you’d have considered taking me, thank you <3 maybe I’ll get a chance for something similar another day
  21. It would’ve been, if it wasn’t for the card reading machine for the tickets messing up for us on the door and some people taking that opportunity to push in front still row 2 or 3 though I weirdly like queuing up for a while, it’s part of the experience for me and I do massively prefer being on the barrier. SBE was my first overnight and it felt rough at about 2am when I was shivering and a big ol spider crawled out where I was huddled but it was a special occasion so I don’t look back on it badly, just wondering if RAH is special enough to do the same...
