  1. At first, I thought it was a terrible song. However, the live performance at La Cigale eventually grew on me and I like it now. You?

Scoobynatural was perfection, I loved it.

  2. I would agree with your assessment of the colors. Yup, it was a fairly predictable fairy tale but the execution of the story elevated the material. Three Billboards took me a while to process after seeing it last year. Fantastic film but the miserable situations and characters had me processing the film. Its not an easy film to watch. I thought Lady Bird was bland.:shifty: I was really underwhelmed by it.

Black Museum: Really enjoyed it as well but not my overall favorite. The thing that held it back is that it felt like a retread of White Christmas.

Arkangel: It was good, nothing special. It had potential to become more interesting with the subplot of the daughter never being exposed to violence or anything stressful. They should have gone down that avenue.

Metalhead: Closest thing to a quality Terminator sequel in years. Aye, it was an interesting contrast between the cold, bleakness of the world and compassion. Do have to admit that those robo killer dogs were kinda adorable.:shifty:

Crocodile: Didn't like this episode since it was silly and kinda gratuitous how everything went down in the third act.

USS Callister: This was actually my fav episode. I didn't find that bothersome since he only gave himself control over the players and not the entire game. It hit that darkly comedic sweet spot for me.

Hang the DJ: Twas a snoozer. Didn't enjoy anything about it and San Junipero was way better.

  3. Alright, let's do this.

The humor did border on the prequels type of humor but it didn't bother me that much. Canto Bright was a tad sloppy in execution but I think that's partly because of the movie's pacing, it never slows down. Leia was unexpected and not in a good way, I'll agree with you there. Maybe it will bother me less on a rewatch.

It tried to symbolize their impending doom and I wasn't bothered by it. JL>Star Wars? :noey::p

Twas Logan, Blade Runner, Shape of Water, Good Time, IT, John Wick, Star Wars, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Raw and Split. What did you think of Shape of Water? I'm going to see I, Tonya this weekend hopefully, after waiting weeks for it to reach my area.

So have you seen them all yet? I want to discuss them.:p And that new Cloverfield movie was just...damn.

  4. No worries, its alright. Haven't had a chance to reply on here, been busy. Will try another night.

  5. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! :awesome::party::facemelt:

    Oh well.

What didn't you like about TLJ? I am curious. The topless scene caught off guard and I couldn't help chuckling at that moment.

That would have been extremely cheesy with Ahkbar...they should have done that.:yesey:

TLJ also made it into my top 10 of the year and I already posted it on the other forum I frequent. Side note, I am loving it on that other forum, I've found my geeky brethren. I went all fancy on my list again and see if you can guess some of the films. /shameless plug

    Link(Not a virus...maybe)

Alright, I won't tell you, even though I'm very tempted to do so. I've only seen the first three episodes and contemplating skipping Hang the DJ to go straight into Metalhead tonight. I would much rather some post-apocalytic goodness instead of another romantic episode. Thanks and hopefully you liked your brother's present. Now, that's a classic. Fantastic choice of film.:yesey:

  6. You're tempting me to just find the ending of Crisis 4 on youtube.:chuckle:

    Emphasis on "VYE".

Yeah, they could have just cut out Aquaman and the film wouldn't have been any different. Really though, it wouldn't have been.

So did ya like the film? I really enjoyed The Last Jedi. It is purely a Rian Johnson film, flaws and all. And I wouldn't change anything at all. Yes, there's some muddled sections of the film but it shows how it is truly Rian's film and not made by a committee. The direction was solid and the cinematography was fantastic. It is surprising and almost cringe inducing how childish some Star Wars fans are acting towards this film. They're acting as if its the worst film ever made, which boggles my mind. And also harrasing others that actually like the film. Not to mention the cringe/facepalm inducing fan petitions that have been cropping up. They really need to grow up.

Kylo Ren grew on me considerably and he was by far the best thing about the film.

    DAT SCENE with Yoda! :awesome::facemelt:

Black Mirror in a few hours! Happy/Merry Christmas to you and hope it was fun!! I got a Star Wars shirt so I got to wear it while watching The Last Jedi.

Yeah, thankfully we still have net protections in place. Nevertheless, its necessary to keep an eye out for what happens next. I've never seen Iron Chef.:$ My sister did get me into Chopped which is very entertaining. I also saw a Canadian Masterchef marathon a few months ago.

  7. You sure seem to know a lot about that for someone who's never done that. :shifty:

I don't know, it can't be worse that the Arrow clip you showed me months ago, that was atrocious. Overgirl>Supergirl.

Well now that I know that, every time that I meet a violist I'm going to pronounce it "vye-oh-la" to annoy them.

It was strange also how Wonder Woman got so little to do in that film despite having a huge success earlier in the year.

Don't tell me how you feel about Star Wars yet, I still need to see it. The polarizing reactions are making me so excited. Black Mirror next week! :awesome:

I've actually become a bit more optimistic about the situation about the huge opposition the FCC is currently facing. Its becoming more and more likely that net neutrality will remain in place so yay for that.

I've recently become hooked on The Best Thing That I Ever Ate and Carnival Eats. The first show is about random restaurants that serve fantastic meals and they look so good. I don't know why I watch it since I'm nowhere close to those places. Not to mention that about 90% of the locations featured in that show are in New York. Carnival Eats isn't any better since it features the fattiest and sugary foods you will ever see but they look so good. This is what I get for checking out the Cooking channel.

  8. Oh boy, now that's quite a selection.:yesey: Have fun doing that.

Thanks! You should look up the answers to that test on the web to make it easier. Not that I have ever done that in my life, nope, never once.:p

Speaking about The Flash, I missed the first night of the Crisis event and thus I didn't watch the second night. Wish I hadn't forgotten about it but from the clips I've seen on Youtube it looked freaking awesome. The church fight alone was better than Justice League.

The dialogue between Superman and Lois Lane was shockingly bad. Superman's wonky mouth CGI on the big screen almost justifies this film's existence.:chuckle: I will have to admit that Ezra's Flash did get one chuckle out of me, the only one I had during the entire film. It was when he brought Pet Sematary after Superman was revived. I'm gonna look up how to pronounce viola properly on youtube now.:shifty:

Now on to ranting, first of all the CGI was dismal at various points during the film which is surprising since it had a huge budget. Steppy was such a dull villain and thus the film had no stakes and I was bored throughout it. Not to mention that they kept trying to make us worry about a random Russian family and they kept cutting back to them, each time got more tiresome.:noey: This film also gave Fantastic Four(2015) competition for the most blatant reshoots. And well, I kinda forgot the rest of my rant since its late but the last thing is that Superman's personality change felt really unearned. He's just as bland as before and it never felt earned and thus felt cheap.

That's probably the most nitpicky rant I've ever done.

So are you going to watch it tonight? I'm most excited about the Trek episode and I can't wait.

Net Neutrality has been overturned. There is still hope in that Congress saves it but yeah its a mess. Its blatant corruption in that FCC overturned it despite people voicing their concerns.

  9. That's awesome, its always fun having Xmas spirit. Do you guys pick a theme each year?

Yeah, but they're not too worrisome this semester actually, which is great. Good luck on your exams!

First Thor film is decent fun and the second one is pretty dull, except it does liven up when Loki is on screen. Wonder Woman is decent imo. It's got a boring first act, wonderful second act and then an extremely messy third act, which is a shame. Its got a good movie in there, its just stuck in between two weaker acts. I finally saw Justice League the other day and I didn't like it.:$ I actually want to rant about it.:shifty: Wonder Woman was by far the best thing about it. Its funny to think about how fanboys protested Gal's casting as Wonder Woman back in the day. Superman's lip, and performance in the film, were truly awful. Oh and it made appreciate Grant Gustin as the Flash, he's leagues about Ezra Miller. Oops, I'm ranting already.

Nope, I'm not going to even try since I already know that they're sold out. I'm planning a late night showing with friends but even the late night ones are sold out. Have fun at the screening! Come in dressed in a Trekkie shirt.:p Speaking of Trek related stuff, there's new trailers for the new season of Black Mirror and one looks like a Trek spoof. Its so exciting. I'm not letting down my guard down though, I have a feeling that the brightly colored Trek episode is going to be the darkest one of the new season.

I'm not that optimistic about it though, since the current administration seems to ignoring the concerns from the public. Hopefully it turns out well though.:(

  10. Oh yeah, I don't envy him. It did give me horrible flashbacks to when Miltank would demolish my teams.

Another idea that I got was Michelle from 10 Cloverfield Lane in her hazmat suit.

I know and its so exciting. :awesome: Christmas lights on houses, Xmas spirit in the air, and top 10 lists being written. Oh and lest not forget the most important thing: eggnog!

I haven't had to watch that or Thor 3 yet, I've been lagging. I've been hearing that JL is truly awful and that's my main motivation to watch it. Glad to hear that you liked it though. So, how was Superman's CGI mouth on the big screen? :p December is PACKED with a ton of great looking films and I recently got Moviepass so that I can watch them. Excited for The Shape of Water, Disaster Artist, Star Wars and I, Tonya.

I know, its truly awful. One optimistic aspect about it is that the reaction has been extremely vocal and people have been contacting their representatives to try to preserve it. I really hope that we don't lose it.:noey:

  11. I actually ended up running into a speedrunner on Youtube called Werster and he speedruns Pokemon games. He uploads the best of the clips and its hilarious how the games like to screw him over.:chuckle:

That makes it a convenient costume. Well the only one that I can think about off the top of my head is Jill Valentine. Did you actually make the mask for the costume? Probably, yeah, if he doesn't die next season.

Thanks! It was good, a bit too good with the food comas and all.:chuckle:

  12. Same here and I thought I was being thorough in my search and yet when I look on Youtube, I find out that I missed a lot of items. Also, accidentally ran into speedruns of The Last of Us and the amount of practice that must go into those, I can't even imagine.

Happy to hear that Supernatural is great at the moment. I was actually flipping channels the other day and saw some of the episode. It was the one with the shapeshifter when he beat up Dean and took his place.

Oh, that's an awesome costume choice. I started thinking too late about my costume and by the time it came I wasn't ready. My idea was to go as Ed Kemper from the new show Mindhunter. Its easy clothes wise but I didn't have the necessary mustache.:chuckle: Next year though.

  13. I'm loving The Last of Us and I blasted through it pretty quickly. Well not that quickly since I scavenged every inch of each environment for supplies, bad habit.:chuckle: I loved it though, really fun horror game that's actually tense. Molotovs are awesome.<3

Aw damn, that's a shame. How has Supernatural been so far?

No idea but I'll improvise.:awesome: You?

  14. He's a damn good writer since the show has a lot of clever writing in it. Enjoying it so far.

I'll add it to the list of shows.:p Currently watching Mindhunter since David Fincher directed some of the episodes. Also got hooked on Last of Us on PS4 recently and its so damn goooood.

Never actually caught up with it.:$ Did notice that they mentioned Bruce Wayne in tonight's episode which is interesting.:shifty:

  15. I just discovered that Malcolm in the Middle and Louie are on Netflix. That shows you just how little I've truly explored Netflix's catalogue.:chuckle: Louie is fantastic, even though I almost stopped watching the first episode because of an extremely awkward situation.

I haven't seen the Death Note anime yet but my sister watched some of it and wasn't impressed. We agree 50/50 on media so I may watch it. One thing that I do have to say is that Light was never actually likeable in the film, I never cared for him and Mia. They never likeable leads so it took some of the tensions away. It was an interesting reversal by making Mia the who takes advantage of Light in the situation.

Hah, I didn't think about the music in that way. That's a great theory and it is something that the director would do.

I doubt that he used it. That was something that I noticed angered Death Note fans, with them saying that he would never bring himself to actually using it.

  16. I know, I know, I'll get to it eventually.:p

Surprised to see B&H sticking around in the US tour.

    :awesome:Congrats, that's great to hear!!

The funny thing is that the music choices in his previous films have been far better. Well at least you didn't hate it.:chuckle: I noticed a few times in the film that he was purposefully choosing to "troll" fans of the anime. Such as Light's over-exaggerated screams when he meets Ryuk. There is also that part in the dance when Light pushes away an Asian guy that's dancing with his gf. Little things like those showed that he was intentionally to rile up fans that were expecting a faithful adaptation. The whitewashing aspect was the least of the film's problems. I do think that it way was too quick paced and should have been 30 mins longer to flesh the cat and mouse game. The actor that they picked for L was fantastic in the film, he was easily the best part of the film.

Shame that the director was forced off Twitter due to death threats from Death Note fans.:noey:

  17. Yeah, it looks a ton of fun. Surprised that season 1 isn't on Netflix since there's other AMC shows on that site. How did you like the final season? Still very keen on seeing the second season of Legends of Tomorrow, it looks like the only CW comic book show that doesn't take itself that seriously. Well, I don't think it takes seriously at all.:chuckle:

Regret not going to that gig since the crowd looked fantastic and it has aged very well. We shall see next week if any of the rarities stick around in the US.

    Good luck!

Its been decent, nothing too surprising at the moment. Boring I know.:p

So I see that Netflix's Death Note has been received "kindly" by Death Note fans.:chuckle:

    Happy Birthday!!!! :awesome::party::batman:

  18. Oh yeah, it was definitely a fun atmosphere to be in. Not a knock on Avenged Sevenfold, but I do believe there was more vigorous moshing to ADTR than there was for Avenged. Avenged played a few more mellow songs on this tour which might have contributed to that. It was an awful situation for those poor people.:noey:

I haven't seen Preacher season 2 but from the clips I've seen, it seems to be following the comics far more closely than the first season, and also a lot more crazier. There was recently a situation with our cable and thats why I haven't been able to watch it. Also, I've gotten lazier when it comes to finding and watching episodes online.:$

Well at least you got to view it and thats fun. Totality would really be something unbelievable, it would be awesome to in its path. You guys in Canada are getting a lunar eclipse in January.

So, during the Drones tour era, I kinda became disinterested in their shows because of the setlists, but dammit, they managed to drag me back in. I have to admit that I've been fanboying over their show at Shepherds Bush.:LOL: That performance of Showbiz is :awesome:.

  19. I only knew two ADTR songs, Paranoia and The Downfall of Us All. However, everyone around me knew every song by them and were going crazy. To be fair, everyone had drinks in the crowd had drinks in their hands due to the awful queuing situation. The location to line up for the concert right in the middle of the sun with no shade so everyone was burning up when I arrived. I arrived half an hour before they opened the doors and even that was too much for me. Like when I got there, I could see people that were already red from the sun and had been there for hours.:noey: It was awful so everyone was thirsty when they went inside. They really should improve that and build some shade. Its one of the reasons why I never queue early for a concert. And yeah, I was on the floor, hence drinks flying around.

You're welcome. I haven't finished Westworld yet but I am in the middle of The Defenders, which is decent but messy at the same time. Its nowhere on the same level as Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

I didn't manage to get glasses in time for it and I kinda avoided so that I wouldn't go blind. You?

  20. Judging by how passionate the fandom still is, they probably could make it episode 300.

Concert was overall fantastic, A Day to Remember was great as a supporting band. However, its not my fav A7X concert to date due to a few things, such as getting hit with three beers in a short amount of time.

Nah, no worries. Sounds very fun.:p Good luck on it and you're almost at the end.

  21. I doubt that he's gone either, he's too popular of a character. I also watched some of the Supernatural comic-con panel and it looks like the fandom is just as strong as ever.

Thanks! :awesome: It was a fun birthday, especially since I got two birthday cakes. Its next week and I'm super pumped. I found out a bit late about Foo Fighters coming to my area and all the good tixs are sold out now.

  22. There are numerous iconic moments in the film that are simply gold.

Have you heard about Sam and Dean meeting Scooby Doo? :chuckle:

  23. I think we get the worst of it in June so I think we're good for now. Well, I hope.:chuckle:

I've never seen the 1960s show either but the film itself was very entertaining and silly. Adam West was a fantastic Batman and Bruce Wayne. Cesar Romero and the rest of the villains were obviously having a blast making the film.

Oh God, not that part. Im still perpexled at how the producers thought this special was a good idea.

Local Comic Con is this weekend.:awesome:

  24. Well, where I live its actually 110 F and its just as bad as you can imagine.:noey:

That's great to hear and I've seen that they have added a large number of rogue villains. At the moment, I'm watching parts of the 1966 Batman flick on Netflix.

I know about these bad films from a Canadian youtuber, Fanboyflicks. He has a dry sense of humor that is right up my alley. It is one of my life goals to own and watch Samurai Cop one day. I've actually never seen the Star Wars Christmas special. I've seen many snippets of it but never in its entirety. I don't think that I have the courage to watch it all in one sitting.

  25. Touche, touche.

Hmm, I'll try to put with Curtis as best as I can. Yeah, its a bit of a Twilight Zone situation with Arrow being the superior show. Shame that they both can't be good at the same time.

That depends on how evil/sadistic I want to be.:shifty:

If I were to go easy, I would choose this "so bad that its good" masterpiece.

However if I wanted to be evil, I would choose Shark Exorcist. Just skim through that video and you would see how bad that film is.

And worst of all, there's those Neil Breen films, which are truly amazing in how bad they are. Yeah, I know bad films.:shifty:
