  1.

I think that's one of the reasons why I enjoy the earlier season more. I loved the bond that Bobby had with both of them and it was great to watch. I don't know, it just bothers me a bit that Chuck would sit back and let that happen. I know that's his philosophy but he would have a breaking point as well.

I can understand your point about the theme of the show being family. At least it's far more subtle than the Fast & Furious films where they say family every five minutes.:chuckle: And yeah, I agree that it is better than defeating the big bad villain like they've numerous times already. It does raise questions about what the other Men of Letters factions were doing while all the big stuff was going down. Lucifer sticking around does contradict what they've said about scaling things down. I really do hope that they don't waste him next season.

The gag reel was fantastic. I used to post the SDCC gag reel every year in the Supernatural thread.:shifty:

I'll keep my eye out for it. That's good to hear that they're prep time to end things properly. You'll like it. It's got suspense, action, drama, excellent acting and awesomely bad wigs. You'll see what I mean about the wigs. Glad to hear that you enjoyed Lucifer and yeah don't mind the critics. Start shopping for that incognito costume.:p What do you think of Preacher? I really enjoyed the first seasons. There was some downtime in certain episodes but overall I really enjoyed it. Certain things about the season finale seem to polarized some fans from what I've read. Oh and Cassidy really is the best thing about the show, even if I can't understand him about 30% of the time.

Probably a combination of both and I'm guessing that the reception to SS and BVS is going to make them interfere more in Justice League and Wonder Woman. Endless cycle.:noey:

    Just found about this today.

  2. Oh yeah, it's definitely a rental type of film. Oh and keep the lights off.:p I've never read the manga or seen the anime but I have heard about that adaptation because of the director. I'm pretty happy that he's doing it with Netflix since there won't be any studio interference.

I've heard huge amounts of praise for Bojack Horseman as well and it'll go on my ever growing list of shows to watch. First of all, there's Supernatural to discuss. Season 11 was a huge improvement over the previous seasons. However, it did falter near the end.

Really enjoyed seeing Dean and Bobby together at the end of Safe House. Overall, Safe House was such a fun episode. Also, I was not expecting Kevin to come back and I'm glad to see him get closure. Metatron was a bit more bearable and I was surprised to see get killed off. They did a good job of handling Chuck's revelation. However, it makes me wonder why he allowed the apocalypse to happen in the "The End". He's more than powerful to stop Lucifer. The angels teaming up with Lucifer was fun as well. Casifer in general was a lot of fun to watch this season and you could tell Misha was enjoying it. Despite being strong overall, the season finale was rather weak. Sam being/not being shot isn't much of a cliffhanger compared to previous ones and Amara's change of heart felt a bit off. Not sure what they're going to do next season since they've already done the "end of the world" scenario twice now. Also hate that they're recasting Lucifer for next season. I'm hoping that he has a purpose for sticking around next season and that they don't weaken him. I'm probably forgetting a couple of thoughts but oh well.

Oh and this joke was an instant classic.

That's a hell of a pitch for Orphan Black, I'll check it out eventually as well. Dragging out storylines for cheap drama is the worst.:noey:

I'm excited because the cast of one of my favorite shows, The Americans, finally got noticed by the Emmys this year as well. Thinking about it, it probably is my favorite show on TV.

Judging by the Suicide Squad reviews, the Lego Batman film is going to be DC's best film in years.:chuckle:

  3. Blair Witch 2 isn't even so bad that it's good. It's just flat out terrible. Also saw Lights Out recently and it was pretty good. It had some creative fun jump scares but I feel that they could have played more with the lighting.

I've finally going to get on Stranger Things this week since I'm almost finishing Supernatural season 11. You'll probably like Preacher, it's a lot of fun. Season finale was a lot of fun and looking forward to the second season. I've also heard of that show but I haven't checked it out. What isn't filmed in Vancouver? :p It's hard for me to imagine Steve Carrell as mean.:chuckle: Orphan Black is on the list of shows to check out too. Heard that the main actress is phenomenal.

  4. Oh yes! I wonder how many takes they did for the hand thing.:chuckle:

It was painful to see Reece go out like that. I really wanted all to make survive but I know better than that since it's a horror film.

Speaking of horror films, I am so psyched for Blair Witch. I was already looking forward to it when it was called "The Woods" because of the director but now I'm even more excited because it's a sequel to the Blair Witch Project.

Yeah, I can understand that. Going along with cliches are get tiresome after a while. There are a lot of homages to Spielberg and Carpenter because those directors grew up with them. I'm really enjoying Preacher and next week is the season finale. It reminds me of Supernatural at times since there's a vampire nicknamed Cas and there's two socially awkward angels in it. I've never seen The Office but it has a huge following. Favorite characters so far?

  5. This talk about CGI in Supernatural makes me remember the horrible bee CGI from the first and seventh seasons.:chuckle: Thanks!

Tanukis look adorable but at the same time look like they could slice your face. Happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Agree on the brutality and how the camera would linger on it to make more intense. For a film about punk music, it was pretty metal.

That was pretty bad but the one that makes me squirm is the stomach slice. It's a combination of how unexpected it is and the ease of it opening up that gets to to me.:p Oh and I was taken aback with how unexpected Reece's death through the window was. Thoughts on the soundtrack and songs in the film? I spied a Dillinger Escape Plan poster in the film as well. I also loved the camera work and cinematography in the film.

Hmm, you are kinda in the minority from what I've been hearing.:p What do you think that it could have done better?

I've also been enjoying a new show called Preacher throughout the summer. It's a wacky gory show on AMC.

  6. IIRC they got rid of the rock songs because of copyright issues on the DVDs or something like that. The CGI for the banshee creature was so bad.:noey: They should have gone the practical makeup route for that. At the end of August which is pretty exciting. Haven't started yet but I'm inexplicably excited about going back.

Yeah, Zootopia lives up to it's hype. Haven't heard about that cool touch but I'm going to look it up. I've never heard of a tanuki before.:$ I highly recommend it, but you might squirm at a few scenes.:p

Yeah, I'm pretty slow at it. What are your thoughts on Stranger Things so far? It's great to see Winona Ryder again in something.

  7. Make sure it's a cheesy halloween night.:p Yeah, that's what I thought.

Soulless Sam sure was a riot. I've finally reached episode 11 and it's been good so far. It's so fun seeing Lucifer ham it up. Surprised by how dodgy the CGI is in certain scenes tbh. Want to get this season finished so I can move onto The Night Of and Stranger Things before school takes over my life.

I'm hoping that Star Trek gets a positive reaction from the public so that it's a financial success. Haven't seen Finding Dory but I did catch Zootopia on DVD recently. It was a really fun animated film that got surprisingly dark in certain spots. They probably would believe you about it being a documentary.:chuckle: There's still some great horror films each year, you just have to search for them. Patrick Stewart isn't the only Star Trek alum in Green Room, there's also the late great Anton Yelchin in it. They're both great in the film. Yeah, it's a fantastic tension film that mainly takes place in one location and takes advantage of it. It's a visceral and brutal film that doesn't have gore just for the sake of having gore. There's one shot that makes me squirm just by thinking about it.:chuckle:

Not yet but I do want to watch it since everyone else has already. I'm very slow at binging shows.

  8. I actually really enjoy it. Watched it a lot as a tyke and it's never lost it's charm for me. Try over 100 F degrees over here.:p

There's also the fairy/X-files episode that's hilarious with soulless Sam. Looking forward to that Bobby/Rufus episode. Almost to the point where Casifer makes his debut in the show, so exciting. Wonder who came up with that name.:chuckle: I'll give him a chance to impress me. I tried to find a snarky Dean gif as a rebuttal but I came up with nothing.

Ah I see. I have a feeling I'm missing something with "only 60 years". Oh yeah, they love college football over here, especially in the Midwest.

Friends are saying to go watched Star Trek instead of Lights Out so we'll see what happens. Ah damn, that sucks about them. Maybe you should tramautize with a movie night consisting of Exorcist, REC and other random horror films.:chuckle: It's actually been a fantastic year for horror films (Witch, Green Room and Conjuring) this year and there's a ton of great looking ones on the horizon.

  9. Ya might have to do that to those shoes. I've unintentionally seen a lot of films, including Hocus Pocus.:chuckle: Really wanted to bug him with questions about working with Guillermo Del Toro. That's not even that warm.:noey:

The French Mistake is comedy gold. It also gave us Weekend at Bobby's. Also excited about season 11 since there's a Bobby/Rufus episode focused on them working a case. Aw, you should have taken a picture. Or maybe driven away in it.:shifty: Yeah, I've heard that about that episode being really good. Shame that Metatron is still alive though, I've never found him to be an interesting character.

Well, there's too many shows to catch up on.:phu:

You're welcome! Never knew that there were differences between the Canadian and American football. Gotta stick with them through thick and thin. Only by 60 years.:phu:

Trailers haven't worked for me either but I've been hearing decent things about it. Not sure what to expect with the new director. I'm more tempted to go check out Lights Out this weekend than Star Trek.

  10. I was actually on the far left side of the concert and the pit was all the way on the other side. Only way might be to sneak some into Canada.:shifty: That's awesome that you met him. Doug Jones was at this convention but I never got a chance to talk to him. On the second day he was suppose to have a panel but it got switched with a LARP panel.:noey: Yeah definitely, I don't want to image what an Australian summer is like. Thanks for that.

Great to hear that about season 11. I'm still one of the few people that loves season 6, it's held up well over the years. I've gotten up to episode 4 Baby so far and man that was hilarious. Well I know that Chuck is you-know-who and that's about it. Hey, I'm back on the train now.:phu:

Congrats on everything! :awesome: That sounds fantastic. American or European football?

What are your thoughts on the new Star Trek film? I'm on the fence about it.

  11.

Thanks! Welcome back! I've been great, having a fun summer with friends and family. Been going to concerts and finally got to see Volbeat live. They were a blast but sadly the mosh pit was all the way on the other side of the concert.:chuckle: Also attended a local comic convention that was really fun. There were some spot on costumes in that convention such as Jon Snow, Misty from Pokemon and Doctor Who. Had plans to travel to Australia during the summer since it's winter there right now but it didn't work out. There's still next year though. Sadly had to put down one of my dogs a few months back but it was for the best. Still have one with me though.

Really tempted to get back into Supernatural since I've been hearing a lot of praise for season 11. Not to mention that Misha as Lucifer sound so fucking fun.

How about you? What have you been up to?

  12. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

    Just amazing.

  13. What I find surprising is that TR-8R inadvertently became the new Boba Fett aka character with short screen time that becomes popular. Look him up on google and you'll see what I mean.:chuckle:

    Thanks and it was great.

  14. It's been a fun start to the year. Just been having fun with friends and family during the holidays. You?

  15. Happy New Year!

  16.

It was a really fun atmosphere in the theater with nobody rudely talking. The worst theater experience I've probably had this year was with Mission Impossible with a couple that refused to be quiet. However, I will admit that I got so caught up in the film that I talked to myself a few times.:$

Looking forward to seeing Domhall Gleeson hamming it up in the sequels.

I'm going to be rather annoyed if they give Phasma a Boba Fett-esque type of death in the sequels.:chuckle: Yeah, the Kenobi theory is pushing it a bit. I don't think that would be possible. Another thing is that near the end of the film when everyone is waving the Millennium Falcon goodbye, I was scanning the crowd to make sure that Nien Nunb didn't die in the final battle. Glad that they didn't bring him back just to die.

    Don't worry about it. Thanks!

    Happy early New Year!

  17. Yup and it was awesome.

It's far from the first film this year to be a sort of remake. Jurassic World and Creed were very similar to the first films in their own franchises as well. One thing that I missed is seeing the 20th Century logo before the film. I've always associated that with it. Nevertheless, when the title and music came on the screen, I wasn't the only one leaning forward. It so good seeing X-Wings on the big screen again.:awesome:

Kylo Ren even had a similar hairstyle.:chuckle: Kylo was a great villain in this film. One thing I'm curious about is Snoke. He seems pretty old so I wonder where he was during the original trilogy. That was just something that I kept wondering about throughout the film. It was funny seeing Kylo and Hux fighting for their "dad's attention".

Phasma was a wasted villain, she better have more to do in the next film. She probably is Luke's daughter but I'm not too sure why he left her behind. For a short while I thought that they were the Solo twins. Finn was a lot funnier than I was expecting. Seeing him try to patch up Chewy was hilarious. The trio in general exceeded my expectations. I want to see more of the bromance between Finn and Poe. Yeah, they fooled me too with the marketing in that Finn would be the force sensitive one. BB-8 was fantastic. To be honest, I didn't see the need for C-3PO to return. I was not expecting Adminal Ackbar either.

I wasn't that surprising that Han died since Harrison has been wanting to kill him since The Empire Strikes Back. Also I had heard about a major character dying a few days before. Damn spoilers.

    Merry Christmas! :xmas:

  18. Still not a fan of the guitar dropping. I don't mind Revolt, it's far better than the other two.

Shia Labeouf(?) recently did a live stream of himself watching his entire filmography. I thought it was kind of entertaining while others thought it was a shameless way of getting attention.

Personally, I think that's a horrible assumption that Muse makes about the US and use it justify the setlists. Yet, they play rarities at festivals where are more casual fans.

Star Wars in less than a week.

  19. Yeah, you would have expected more people to show up. I have noticed that ticket sales have been down for this US tour since they did announce it so late. Glad to hear that you had a blast seeing Muse. At least you can say that you've seen Bliss live. I'm going to quickly state two things that I don't like about the show.:shifty: First thing that I don't like about the 360 tour is Matt dropping the guitar for a few songs. Then there is UD and Madness at the same show without Stockholm Syndrome and it has me like

    iCtBest.png

Nevertheless, it's nice that you enjoyed yourself. You should have taken a CE sign. The 360 stage doesn't lend itself to great crowds so that was kind of expected.

    Thanks!

You were probably the only person dancing to Revolt in the dead crowd.

Oh and here's more from my collection:

    umjOBvx.jpg

  20. Have to admit that Gravity hasn't that good on repeat viewings.

You should be good if you come pretty early. I doubt that there is going to be that many people queuing that early. The stage does look visually impressive. However, I have to admit that I'm not impressed with the show and I am kind of glad that I'm not going. I'm going to save my complaints to not damper your excitement.:shifty: Hopefully you do get CE.:yesey:

Still trying to catch up on shows but exams are taking most of my time.

I've been hooked on Neutron Star Collision non-stop for the last couple of days. Terrible but so damn catchy.

  21. You betcha. Unlike Mark Watney, I did not mind the disco music. Mark could have done a lot worse. Yeah, especially the smaller scale impressive sci-fi films. Have you seen Ex Machina? You might enjoy it. You could thank Gravity for reigniting interest in space films. Kids will probably love space after watching Interstellar/Martian and then become terrified of it with Gravity.:chuckle:

Had no idea that they weren't selling tickets til the 11th. May the force be with you in getting the tickets. That is extremely cheesy but I have no regrets. Only three more days until we find out how the stage looks like. Are you going to try to avoid reading the setlists?

Have not watched Gotham yet. I am slowly catching up on the new Flash episodes. Been busy watching Ash vs Evil Dead and Gravity Falls. Ash vs Evil dead so far has been good and hasn't felt tiresome.
