  1. Fuck me. I thought I was tall at 179 cm.

  2. How tall are you?

  3. Ouch. Did you do something to cause that or does it just happen randomly? Sounds painful.

  4. What happened with your lungs btw?

  5. Damn, that sucks. :( I'd call that cockblocked.

  6. Very nice :yesey:

How about Pendulum? You've probably heard of them already.

  7. I know of Opeth, haven't given them a good listen though. Rishloo are decent.

I noticed Karnivool in the recommendations. They're another good Aussie band, they sorta sound like Tool if you're into that.

  8. They were my favourite band before Muse. And I'm a bit sick of Muse lately so have come back to them, and they're still brilliant. :yesey:

Who are those other bands btw?

  9. Oh, okay. Sorry, I couldn't even tell there were low notes with these laptop speakers.

    First one is Eb3.

Second one is B2, but goes lower, Bb I think.

  10. :awesome:

If you like those albums, they have a third and an EP which are also pretty good.

Not sure what I'm listening for? Nothing particularly high here.

  11. Not sure if it's your type of music, but their first 2 albums are top notch. Plus Clint Boge is an amazing singer.

  12. Heard of a band called The Butterfly Effect?

  13. Credit where credit is due. He's a smart man, becoming famous without ever actually doing anything.

Jesse's pretty good. I also like Chris Keller. The difference between those two powerhouses and Brett is just jarring.

  14. It's a bit stupid that he can't sing, but he's one of the most renowned teachers, at least online. Then he brings in people who could already sing to market his crap. He's a money-grubbing fuckhead tbh.

  15. I actually gave their CDs a try if you know what I mean. It's all exercises, very little explanation of what you should be doing. Main thing that bugs me is Brett, he can't sing, and there was an old Youtube vid of him singing live and straining his ass off. Think it's been taken down though.

  16. Yep, it gets straight to the meat of rock vocals which is what I like to see. SS has its moments, they have some good exercises to loosen up and get those constrictors out of the way, but when it comes to power they just string you along with false promises.

  17. I thought you gave up. Wouldn't blame you, it's a long book.
  18. So did you manage to get through that section of the book? :p

  19. Actually both. You want to stop the diaphragm from returning to its resting position to keep air pressure down, it's a surprisingly physical activity and requires a lot of strength. But you can still sabotage yourself by making technique choices that encourage constriction.

  20. Don't get me started on this. You know I'll go for hours. :awesome:

  21. When the air pressure passing through your vocal cords is too strong, they begin to literally break apart, into falsetto. This is when your neck muscles step in to help keep your cords together. If this happens at a high pitch, the false cords will meet and start vibrating, resulting in distortion. But if you go very very high, the FVF will meet regardless (like that A6 video).

Now when the neck muscles step in, your vocal cords don't have room to stretch, so reaching higher notes in the modal register becomes hard. The difference between Matt and Jimmy is that Matt's neck muscles step in a lot earlier, and therefore his break occurs a lot earlier.

  22. Yeah falsetto's not that impressive. Showbiz is way easier than say, SFA or Hyper Music.

  23. He still has those random high notes in him.

    He's just lazy.

  24. Haven't been on Twitter for a while, will have a look~

  25. Is that LOL at the note or Matt missing the mic? Because I can't hear it in other videos... but it's the exact same note he hits. Weird.
